The first few months of 2021 in the UK have been spent in lockdown with the kids off school. My productivity slowed down a little, but I did make progress. Now that the kids have returned to school, I have recorded an update on where I am with business.
Running a business while in lockdown is hard. Running a business while homeschooling is even harder. I have two children ages 8 an 11. One of them has ADHD and Autism. In this video I will walk through mine and my wife’s lockdown homeschool routine and talk about how we fit in school work and do our own work.
The lockdowns of 2020 for Coronavirus and Covid-19 were incredibly tough for people all over the world. Especially those who had to homeschool their children. I found 2020 very tough to deal with as well as trying to run a business which also caused a lot of anxiety with the fear of the unknown. In this episode, I am reflecting on running a business through lockdown while trying to homeschool. I discuss what I was grateful for, and what I had to postpone in lockdown.
When starting a business you need to think about defining and measuring success for your business. What does success mean to you? Is it to become a millionaire? Is it to just earn enough for financial security? It is important to understand what success means to you so that you can understand what type of business you want to run, and how you want to run it.
In this episode, I look at my book writing process, or more specifically my non-fiction book writing process. I will show you how I set about planning the book, outlining the chapters, and how I keep track of everything. I also show you where I moved the book project from Microsoft Word into Scrivener to give me more control of the project.
Running a part time side hustle is one of the lower risk ways of starting a business, and this is typically done while working for someone else. In this video I will talk about the danger of running a side hustle while still employed.
Goal Setting for your Business------------------------------------------------In this video, I review my goals for 2020, see whether I achieved them, and then set a series of themes and goals for 2021. New years resolutions never work. You break them by the end of January, but by setting themes for the year and then defining measurable goals you can succeed with running your business or side hustle.
In this update I talk about a new book I am writing called The Path to Freedom - A guide to starting a business for the reluctant entrepreneur.

2020 has been a very tough year. A large part of the working population on the planet was forced into working from home at very short notice. Back in April, I recorded a short course that I gave away for free to help people adjust to remote working. The idea was to help people with remote working in a pandemic, and teach people how to work from home efficiently. Working from home is very hard to do full time. I found it very difficult when I started working for myself full time. So, let me be your g side to working from h home and how to stay focused.I hope this short course helps.
