50 Cent recently stated he could easily make a record in today's hip hop era. Is it easier today to make a hit record? Queens rapper, Consequence, recently was on Drink Champs and brought up the topic of songwriting. There is an art to writing records, but does collabing with other writers discredit an MC? Many of today's top hits credit a long list of writers. In the early hip hop days, the ability to write your own songs was not only key to becoming a successful artist, but it was also like an unwritten rule. But should that be the case today? Hip Hop Leaf: MCLike the pod? Multi-platinum record producer, Scott Storch, is one of the most under appreciated record producers in hip hop. Despite having hits like 50 Cent's Candy Shop, and Fat Joe's Lean Back under his belt, Storch seemed to have disappeared from the hip hop industry for while, but why? Although she dark times took over, the New York-born, Philly and South Florida-raised producer has one of the most inspiring come-back stories in hip hop, rising back to the top of the charts.
