How many times have you compared yourself to your friends, colleagues, or even strangers using a trait that you consider desirable, for example, money or success? This comparison, known as social comparison, is a normal behaviour process where we seek to better understand our status relating to our ability, opinion, emotional reaction, and more, by comparing ourselves to other people. It can be beneficial if done in a healthy manner as it can provide us with a way to determine if we are ‘on track,’ to achieve our goals. It can also be detrimental to our mental health and self-esteem if done in a negative way.In this episode, Azandria and Madonna discusses the benefits and downfalls of social comparison, how social media can influence our self-assessment, and how sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side.

One of the legacies of toxic parents is another generation of toxic parents. But, there is something else they can leave – an opportunity to rise above all of it and parent in ways that are more open, more informed, more loving and richer for the wisdom and insight that is fuelled by your history. In this episode, Azandria & Madonna have a discussion with Craig Sterling, a father to 7 boys whose own childhood was riddled with absent parents and emotional and physical abuse. The first step to changing our culture is to change our own behaviour and that's why in this episode, Azandria & Madonna puts their sexual lifestyles out there and discuss the practice of slut-shaming and embrace what it means to be true to your sexual self.
Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive, controlling behaviour that can include physical abuse, emotional or psychological abuse, verbal abuse, sexual abuse or financial abuse, and any other behaviour to establish power and control. Domestic violence is pervasive and affects millions of individuals globally regardless of age, economic status, race, religion, education, gender, sexual orientation or any other identity. Abusers make it very difficult for victims to escape relationships through tactics including threats of increased violence, using children, or financial control. The outcome of these barriers means that on average, it takes a survivor 6-8 attempts to leave a relationship before they are able to. It’s important for survivors to know that the abuse is not their fault, and they are not alone. If you're in an abusive relationship and want to get out, here are a few places to call: The Bahamas  - The Bahamas Crisis Centre: (242) 328-0922 Barbados - BPW Crisis Hotline: (246) 435-8222 Belize - Crime Stoppers: 0-800-922-8477 Guyana - Help & Shelter Hotline: (592) 227-3454 Haiti- AFSDA: (509) 3461-4089; (509) 4277-0228 Jamaica - Woman Inc. : (876) 929-9038 Trinidad & Tobago -Domestic Violence Abuse Hotline: (868) 800-7233 USA  - National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233; 800-787-3224If you'd like to connect with Dr. Jason Whiting, you can connect with him via his email at jason@drjasonwhiting.com.If you'd like to purchase his book, "Love Me True", you can purchase it on Amazon.
