Hello everyone and thank you for listing. On this episode of the podcast I spoke to Francesco Mantegazzini. Francesco is a serial entrepreneur and CEO of his own VC organisation with a passion for building start-ups and mentoring leadership teams. He also happens to be one of the founders of the GIRA, which stand for the Great Italian Rickshaw adventure, a company that we at Large Minority recently took over as the majority share holders with the ambition to bring our own style of rickshaw adventures to the amazing country that is Italy. We spoke about his passion for rickshaws and why we both think that Italy sets the perfect back drop for a tuk-tuk adventure and some of the reason we are sure that Italy is best explored from behind the handle bars of a classic Italian Ape Celesino, or, as we lazily like to refer to it as, a tuk-tuk. Francesco has some amazing stories and insights from his early days exploring every corner of Italy in a tuk tuk. I hope you enjoy and I hope to see you in Italy in 2022.For more info about our Italian plans and our very own Italy tuk-tuk advenntures please check out our 2022 adventures and If you would like to take your own rickshaw adventure in 2022 please look up The Gira.
On this episode of the podcast I spoke to my good friend Johnny Ward. Johnny is an award-winning travel blogger and adventure traveller who's travelled to every single country in the world. He is also on a quest to be the first person ever to have travelled to every country in the world but also climb all of the seven summits and visit both poles! I spoke to him about his most recent adventure, an eventful row across the Atlantic, while I obviously picked his brains about his memories of driving a tuk-tuk around Sri Lanka with us.  You can follow Johnny's adventures on his awesome blog: https://onestep4ward.com
Hello everyone and thank you for listening. On this episode of the podcast I sat down with Tom Morgan. Tom is the founder of one of my favourite adventure companies in the world, The Adventurists, creators of the Mongol rally, the rickshaw run, some of the worlds toughest horse races just to name a few. People often confuse our own adventures as direct competitors to what they do and while off course we have similarities, the main one being the use of a tuk-tuk as an amazing platform for adventure, I see things differently. If you dig a little deeper into what we both do you will find very different adventure styles for participants to choose from. I personally love both, and some of you know we have been heavily involved in setting up The Rickshaw run in Sri Lanka. We spoke about what a shitshow the travel space is in currently  but what I was most excited to talk to Tom about was all the adventures and chaos he’s created on his way to creating such an amazing company and brand.I hope you enjoy.
On this episode of the podcast I spoke to Wajahat Malik. Wajahat is an adventure travel filmmaker, a TV presenter and an adventure sports enthusiast. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of adventure filmmaking in Pakistan. For more than 2 decades he has been producing, directing and presenting adventure films for various Pakistani and foreign TV networks. He is also the founder of Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival (PIMFFF) and Managing Director of Eyebex Films, an Islamabad based video production company. He is an avid mountain climber, paragliding pilot, trekker and a mountain bike enthusiast. Lately he is been driving his Rickshaw throughout the mountains of Pakistan. We spoke about all things travel in Pakistan, but also his experience of driving his own rickshaw along the Karakorum highway from Islamabad up into the high passes to Gilgit. Some of you know we have recently launched our very own Pakistan rickshaw adventure and delighted to have Wajahat join us on our very first adventure in Pakistan next year. Do check out our website for more info on that, it’s going to be one hell of an amazing adventure!
Hello everyone and thank you for listening. On this episode of the podcast I spoke to my good friend Terence Ver. Terence runs his own media agency in the Philippines and is also an award winning photographer and film maker and off course and avid traveller. We spoke about his experience on our Sri Lanka tuk-tuk adventure but what I was most fascinated speaking to him about was his experience of spending 4 months of lockdown with a minority tribe called the Tagbanwa, in a remote area of coron in the Philippines. We discussed what it was like living “off grid” on a remote tropical island, the lifelong friends he made while doing so and what its like really getting back to nature. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
On this episode I sat down with three lovely ladies; Maxine, Carol & Andrea. Together they formed a dream team named the Lancashire lasses and participated in both our Sri Lanka and Indian tuk-tuk adventures. It’s a really fun episode and We spoke about their memories of driving tuk-tuks and all the best stories that go with it from both of their adventures with us.I hope you enjo
On this episode I sat down with Mie and Scott. Mie participated, and won, the lanka challenge in 2013 and since then she, with her partner Scott have been sailing around the world. I spoke to Mie about her memories of her tuk tuk adventure with us before jumping into their fascinating story about their life sailing around the world.3 years ago they bought a yacht, an Amel 54, which they named Tengah. They had originally planned to complete their journey in three years, however now, 3 years on, they have only made it halfway. Not because they didn’t want to complete the journey but only because they quickly realised that to do justice to the places they visited and to give them the time they deserve they realised they had slightly miscalculated their schedule. Off course a global pandemic hasn’t helped, however they plan to carry on their journey over the next few years to complete the other half. We look forward to following their journey and speaking to them again to keep up with their sailing travels.I hope you enjoy.
On this episode I sat down with Mike Corey a Canadian adventure travel YouTuber and TV Host.I spoke to him about his recent adventures in Tanzania and about the time he spent with a little-known tribe called the Hazare, a hunter gatherer community living in northern Tanzania. We also spoke about his memories of our Amazon challenge in the Colombian Amazon and what that journey was like for him. Mike aims to inspire others to chase their fears in his own “teaching-by-doing” style, by plunging headfirst into beautiful, unknown locations and participating in undocumented cultural celebrations. So, whether it be exploding hammer festivals, Kambo frog venom rituals, or camping in abandoned castles. You’ll always find him immersed in exciting adventures. If you’d like to follow mike on is adventures and check out some of is amazing videos and stories, you can find him on the BBC Travel Show, or on his personal Youtube Channel, Fearless & Far.Mike also co-hosts a great podcast called “Against the Odds” by the Wondery Network His amazing Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/friskybHis Podcast: https://wondery.com/shows/against-the-odds/
