Amanda Blackwood wears; author, public speaker, podcast host, artist, survivor; but ultimately, she’s a woman who transformed her trauma into resilience and strength. When Amanda finally managed to get away from the man who was trafficking her, she was thirty-one years old and didn’t know what she’d gone through even had a name, much less how to deal with the pain of feeling like a broken person, unworthy of love and filled with so much anger. On a freezing cold day in 2018 she saw former trafficked people standing strong and showing their beautiful resiliency on a stage at an anti-trafficking event. At that moment she finally knew what her purpose in life would be. Since then, Amanda has spoken on a multitude of stages, international summits, radio programs, and had over a dozen books. She launched two podcasts-one that focuses on interviewing other authors of trauma, and the other that discusses the long-term consequences of trauma and how to fight back for a better life. Amanda lives in Denver, Colorado with her rescue cats and supportive husband who keep her safe.Websites: http://www.growthfromdarkness.com/ www.DetailedPieces.comAmanda's book: The Road We Left Behind: https://amzn.to/3JQo98NCustom Justice: https://amzn.to/3QgVdKqThe Unlikely: https://amzn.to/3Qh1uGdNew Hope: https://amzn.to/3w6TiByStages of Trauma: https://amzn.to/4aNHZNwThe Shack in the Woods: https://amzn.to/49McPotThe Miller Miles: https://amzn.to/3JuApLFDetailed Pieces of a Shattered Dream: https://amzn.to/3xKWiDTConnect with Amanda:https://www.facebook.com/AmandaBlackwoodSurvivorhttps://www.instagram.com/detailedpieceshttps://www.linkedin.com/in/authoramandablackwoodhttps://twitter.com/DetailedPieceshttps://www.tiktok.com/@UCmZGTCXp_qi9HLRU8TLqoQgJoin our supportive Facebook group community:https://www.facebook.com/groups/healthrivedreamConnect with me:Gmail: healthrivedream@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/healthrivedream_Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/healthrivedreamYouTube: https://youtube.com/@traumarecoveryexpertTwitter: https://twitter.com/healthrivedreamLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/karenrobinson2022/Website: https://www.healthrivedream.com/Podcast: http://healthrivedreampodcast.com/abuseLoved this episode? Susan Gold was raised in a challenging and chaotic family system, the middle child of five. To fully thrive, she bravely chose to meet the demons of her upbringing that were continuing to repeat. Her book, "Toxic Family: Transforming Childhood Trauma into Adult Freedom" is about that journey.Professionally, Susan became known for attaching celebrity talent to projects in NYC which led her to produce for television and film and on to Los Angeles. She convinced modern art legend Andy Warhol to do an on-camera commercial for Pontiac, a talent deal American TV personality Donny Deutsch still claims as one of his best, helped launch Fox News Channel at the request of Chair , Roger Ailes, and on behalf of Disney Channel persuaded A-list celebrities including Ben Stiller , Jack Susan Gold.pdf Black, Taylor Swift, David Beckham and more to be interviewed by cartoon characters...Phineas & Ferb.Susan is a decorated endurance athlete competing in three marathons, and dozens of triathlons and has the distinction of finishing third in her age group at the treacherous Escape from Alcatraz event. After living with force on both coasts of the United States, Susan heeded an intuitive call for a quieter life and now resides in the northwest corner of the mystical state of Montana with her beloved partner and their pets. Keen on leaving a legacy to help others heal from challenges she’ s successfully met, Toxic Family: Transforming Childhood Trauma into Adult Freedom, is part of that quest. With the same magic Susan created in her entertainment career, she is now leading retreats, webinars, workshops and private sessions to help others drop outdated storylines and programming in exchange for living from the heart in authentic freedom as adults.Supporting homeless animals, especially dogs, and cats, and helping others up the ladder are her joys. Her pride is her son, a political science major at the University of the Pacific.Websites: https://www.susangold.us/Susan's book:Toxic Family: Transforming Childhood Trauma into Adult Freedom: https://amzn.to/4arfaq7Connect with Susan:https://www.instagram.com/susangoldismagical https://www.youtube.com/@UC6ZOQQUeZlYdnf9bjIIrJyQJoin our supportive Facebook group community:https://www.facebook.com/groups/healthrivedreamConnect with me:Gmail: healthrivedream@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/healthrivedream_Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/healthrivedreamYouTube: https://youtube.com/@traumarecoveryexpertTwitter: https://twitter.com/healthrivedreamLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/karenrobinson2022/Website: https://www.healthrivedream.com/Podcast: http://healthrivedreampodcast.com/abuseLoved this episode? Jillian Coburn, a sexual assault survivor, advocate, and entrepreneur, is stepping out to share her story and implement positive change in our government legislation.Jillian Coburn is an entrepreneur, inventor, writer, outdoors-woman, and mother of three, who is passionately committed to supporting and elevating women who have nowhere to turn and living under the shadows of domestic violence. As a survivor, she assists women living with abuse by empowering and teaching them how to get out, heal, and build a life they’ve always imagined. Jillian was on a committee where she and her colleagues triumphed, passing Bill 492, allowing victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse to have their day in court against their perpetrators. Her dream is to have all states follow the new trend of eliminating the Statute of Limitations for Childhood Survivors. Energetic and involved in speaking and outreach, Jillian continues striving for people in situations of domestic violence to get out safely. She also has been working with victims of the Boy Scouts of America, Human Trafficking, and those who need to escape, but empower them to pursue the life they’d always imagined. Healing, listening, and providing tools are her expertise.https://www.snapnetwork.org/rally_for_texas_statute_of_limitations_reform Working with SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests), they have announced how they are supporting HB 206, filed by Rep. Ann Johnson.“It is time for Texas to update it laws so that survivors can file a lawsuit no matter how long ago the abuse took place, and no matter how old the survivor is. The time is up for Texas to catch up with 24 other states that have retroactive or revival legislation. We demand zero tolerance for child abusers that continue to find their way into schools, churches, camps and anywhere our children have the right to be safe from sexual abuse. We support HB 2061, filed by Rep. Ann Johnson, as it gives us a glimpse of hope that our laws are moving towards a survivor-centered and trauma-informed landscape. Laws that are retroactive, reviving previously expired SOLs, will allow survivors of child sexual abuse(CSA) to take legal action against predators, and the institutions who enabled them. Civil litigation exposes hidden predators, an important point with statistics revealing that 70% of child predators have between 1 and 9 victims, and 20% have 10-40 victims.Website: https://jilliancoburn.com/Connect with Jillian:https://www.instagram.com/jillian.coburn_/Books written by Jillian:My Ugly Truth: Life After AbuseSpicy, Cajun, with LoveNever Fear Your FireJoin our supportive Facebook group community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/healthrivedream Connect with me:Gmail: healthrivedream@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/healthrivedream_ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/healthrivedreamYouTube: https://youtube.com/@traumarecoveryexpertTwitter: https://twitter.com/healthrivedreamLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/karenrobinson2022/Website: https://www.healthrivedream.com/Podcast: http://healthrivedreampodcast.com/abuseLoved this episode? Dana S. Diaz studied journalism and psychology at DePaul University. While there’s no better teacher than life experience and Dana has had life-long experiences with narcissistic abuse, her education did give her the ability to accurately verbalize and express how narcissistic abuse creates confusion and conflict within victims. Today, Dana is a proud voice for fellow victims who are unable, afraid, or ashamed to share their experiences. She strives to create awareness and understanding to ensure victims are given the support they need to first understand their situation and then begin the healing process. Her first book, chronicling her own abusive marriage that lasted nearly three decades, started as a journal that she hid under the couch cushion in the basement. When she isn’t speaking out on narcissistic abuse, Dana can be found listening to music by Eric Hutchinson, ElleKing, Green Day, Amy Winehouse, Julia Michaels, and Taylor Swift. She equally loves her gray Converse shoes (she wears them every day!) and her Toyota FJ Cruiser. Dana watches the sunrise and set every single day, and enjoys hikes in the woods. She absolutely loves animals for their sensitivity and loving hearts and has two cats, Kitty Kitty and Tigger. Dana makes her home in Illinois with her husband Doug.
Michelle is an advocate and mentor for other women who have experienced trauma and abuseIn 1997, Michelle married who she thought was her fairytale, knight in shining armor. Michelle has a successful business and 2 children and was a stay-at-home Mom for many years. In 2014, her life started to unravel. Things escalated quickly, and the next thing she knew, she was being sexually abused by her husband, which turned into his sex trafficking her.Michelle spent many nights crying on the floor of her home, realizing that she was in a very dangerous situation. With fear running through her body, and hope in her heart, she ran for the door and got out. Since then, Michelle has spent years in therapy, working in a profession to support herself, and strengthening her spirit so that she may be the strong Mom that her children needed her to be.
