Whitney Tidwell thought she was healthy but she will tell you that she was the healthiest, unhealthiest person out there. After being diagnosed with a number of autoimmune diseases, she decided to take her health into her own hands and really get down to the nitty gritty of nutrition. Whitney started a company called Mirror DNA, that analyzes your DNA to help you become the healthiest version of yourself. In this episode we chat about her company, how health is not one size fits all, raising four girls in a body image obsessed world, and how Heavenly Father can help us understand our worth. Be sure to check out Mirror DNA: https://mirrordna.com/Whitney's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/allfitwithwhit/My favorite bundle of Happy Juice: https://www.amare.com/et/xa2cmf/1634848
I will stand here firmly and tell you that your period is a God given gift from your Heavenly Father and the importance of it should be talked about. I think it’s a disservice that we don’t talk about it more freely, and help young girls, and older ones for that matter, understand what a regular period should look like, and why we should be taking it seriously. So much future frustration can be eliminated if we recognize when things are off early on. And if our period is so precious and important to life, then we should be having safe places for girls to talk about them and not feel awkward or like they are alone. Shop Happy Juice Here: https://www.amare.com/1634848/en-us/
When I was growing up in Young Women’s, we had what were called young women values. Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, and Integrity. They were not recited in order of importance, but were each ingrained into my mind every single week from the age of 12-18. I can still recite the whole thing. I’m grateful for a young womens program that helped me center my life around a theme like this, and I hope I exemplify every one of those values still today. For today’s chat though, we are talking about divine nature. This one was always a special one to me, as it made me feel like I had a unique connection with God. Later on in life though, I feel like it really helps me recognize what it true, most important, and what I should be focusing on as I build myself into what and who God wants me to be. Shop Happy Juice Packs here: https://www.amare.com/1634848/en-us/

Be compassionate to your body in the winter! Know how to fuel your body and start taking mental or physical notes of how it responds to different stimulus. Know that wanting the best for your body physically, is not a worldly thing!
Kendell Petersen is not only and incredible college athlete, but she's also my cousin! I loved our interview. Kendell and the BYU Cougars played in the College Cup twice in her career. We talk about that unique experience, how they got there, and lessons learned. Kendell also speaks to going through the temple for the first time, the BYU dress code, and nutrition as an athlete. This is a must listen for young girls wanting to play in college, or moms raising future athletes! My favorite bundle of Happy Juice: https://www.amare.com/et/xa2cmf/1634848
I like to take a different view of modesty. I don’t love the idea of people labeling people as modest or immodest. Because honestly you can’t know that about a person simply because of the clothes they wear. Modesty is so much bigger than an article of clothing. It encompasses such a wide spectrum of ideas and morals, that it’s simply impossible to narrow down into one outfit. But lots of people don’t believe that. Especially those from a different generation. It’s straight cut, cover up, and everything fits into a box. We measure length, width, and sheerness. All of this is about what a person is wearing, but it has nothing to do with the person who is actually wearing it. My favorite bundle of Happy Juice: https://www.amare.com/et/xa2cmf/1634848
God did not call you to earth to look good in every photo you put online. Where’s the fun in that anyway?! I know you have some pictures that surely give you a laugh from high school. But who is going to remember what you were wearing, how your makeup looked, or if you were posed just right? No one. What they will remember is how you made them feel, what you said to someone who was down, or the stand you took for something that was right.
Have you ever felt frustrated putting on a piece of clothing that you used to fit in? Try these tips and thought processes out the next time frustration around clothing happens!
How do we deal with the unwanted, and unnecessary comments targeted at our body image? They happen to everyone! What comments have you received? Are you still attached to them? They they truths or lies?

I made some pretty harsh judgements early on in my health and wellness career. These judgements are just a small glimpse of what we see in society today. Don't let the shape of your body keep you from sharing your message with the world!
You have two options after being bit by a rattlesnake: chase it, or get away.We have rattlesnakes in our health and wellness and we get to choose when we chase and when we get away.
The phrases we consistently use make an impact on our lives."Back at It" puts a negative tone on the weekend where we actually need weekend activities!3 reasons it's adding to your yo-yo behavior. God wants us to live in abundance all days of the week!
Yes, I'm referencing the Taylor Swift song in that title. But really, what has someone else in this world be it an influencer, a family member, a friend made you do that changes your health and wellness journey? In this episode we are reading one of my beloved books from my childhood, "Corduroy" by Don Freeman. I love finding inspiration in such insignificant places. Of course I never made this connection before now, but I found such a profound story told about wellness journeys while reading this book to my boys. I hope you enjoy! If you have someone you would like me to interview on my upcoming online event please DM me at @elliesgilbert on Instagram. If you are someone who would like to be a part of the event, please email me at elliesgilbert@gmail.com so we can chat and see if you'd be a good fit!
Summertime! What a fun time. What words do you associate with summer? I think fun, loud, excitement, and just a good ole' party! I want you to have the best summer of your lives. In this episode I talk about what you can do to do that. We only get 18 summers with our kiddos, let this one be the start of all the ones that you remember as being happy!
Work ethic is something you don't see a lot lately. And it's sad.  And I'm not just blowing smoke and saying that out of nowhere. We have hard earned and seen evidence of it in the workplace and in our personal lives (our, meaning my husband and I). Brandon and I had a good conversation about work ethic and how it translates into our health the other day and I think you will benefit from it too! Hope you enjoy. How many times have you let the influence of someone else impact or determine your decisions? Not only the small decisions, but ones that impact your life, and even your health? It's so easy to swipe up on a link for a program, a diet, a supplement, before doing our own due diligence first to determine if it's actually right for our own body. Advocate for yourself my friend! CLICK HERE to schedule a discovery call with me for my Body Trust Program. This is my signature 1-on-1 program that will help you understand what you personally need, and help you trust yourself, not all of the outside noise. Let's get you to a place of full body confidence by focusing on nourishment, movement, and spiritual health. Together, we will find and unleash the incredible woman you want to be.
There are two side of weight loss right now: anti-diet, and pro-diet. I believe in both, because I feel there is good on both sides. What the world is missing though, is the ability to trust themselves and live in the middle ground. You don't need to follow a plan, but you also don't need to be hard core against it either. I want to help you get to a point of body trust, and live in the beautiful space where life is fun again and everything doesn't revolve around what goes or doesn't go into your mouth.
I feel that nature is a gift that we can learn so much from! When we take the time to really lean in and learn what it has to offer, we can see how much our bodies take from the normal rhythms around us as the seasons change. Join me today as we explore Spring.
Your Comfort Zone

Your Comfort Zone

We've all heard, Get out of your comfort zone! Take the risk to find the reward! Go through failure to see success! Your trials will be your triumph! While all of these statements are true, we often stay in that discomfort or risky state for too long and don't recognize when our comfort zones are actually aiding in our ability to be safe and treat our body how it should be treated. The ability to center yourself is an art. Knowing when to slow down is a blessing. Nurture it!
