This episode is a conversation with Alicia Ramsey of AR Consulting about the stereotypical term often given to women—daddy issues. The term “daddy issues” gets tossed around a lot, but most of the people doing the tossing are getting it all wrong. It’s become a catchall term to describe almost anything a woman does regarding sex and relationships. Men may say a woman has “daddy issues,” or even women themselves referring to having “daddy issues” well, MEN has daddy issues. The term “daddy issues” is not an official medical term or disorder. Nevertheless, as a woman with a complicated relationship with her father, the term has some validity. In the podcast, information is shared from a biblical perspective accompanied by recent data. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)Trusted Source, poor parent-child relationships, particularly with fathers, is one of the risk factors linked to a greater likelihood of perpetrating sexual violence. The article also shares adolescents aged 14-17 were by far the most likely to be sexually victimized; nearly one in six (16.3%) are sexually victimized in the past. If you have been violated or victimized, please call The National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline- 1(800)-656-HOPE(4673). It is never too late to ask for help.Connect with us and share your story on social media, or e-mail us at aramseyconsulting@gmail.com. For this She Words episode, host Alicia Ramsey shares information, inspiration, and principles in the conversation entitled, How to Select the Right Mentor. She Words are motivational messages on motherhood, marriage, and mentorship. This episode will give you information and insight on what a mentor can and should do in the learning partnership. The word "mentor" has a root in Greek mythology. The word mentor cannot be found in the Bible, yet mentorship can be seen throughout the Old and New Testaments. Mentoring is a partnership where knowledge, information, experience, skills, and perspective are shared between a mentor and the mentee. According to Peter Senge (1990), the author of The Fifth Discipline, mentors empower people with information, offer insights, new knowledge, and alternative perspectives on reality. Senge articulates mentoring is more than teaching someone how to achieve their vision; but fostering learning, offering choices, and building consensus. Influential leaders are mentors and know the importance of mentoring. Everyone can be a leader because we all have gifts, talents, and knowledge to share. By mentoring the next generations to become productive citizens that better the world for all. Listen to hear more about mentorship as we dig deeper into this week's educational podcast dialogue. This episode is a conversation on how to best communicate with younger generations. The quote, "Do not believe everything you hear: Real eyes, Realize, Real Lies," has been attributed to singer-songwriters Ray Charles, Woody Guthrie, and rapper/actor Tupac Shakur. How can this quote help different generations communicate and collaborate in the workplace or at home? According to Stephen Denning, the author of The Secret Language of Leadership, we can positively improve communication channels with younger generations by showing concern for their interest, revealing vulnerability, sharing values, meshing with what has gone before, and being willing to learn. It is time for all to use our real eyes to communicate better and realize that generational differences do not have to remain a hindrance. Finally, open our minds to learning more about Generation Y and Generation Z, so they do not learn from assumptions or real lies. This episode is a conversation with Coach Sharon Wilson of Milestones about the role of a Life Coach. Do you need a Life Coach? It is essential during a time of transition to focus. This episode is a dialogue on educating Generation Z and Generation Alpha. This discussion will share parenting tips and strategies on how to support the next generation educationally.  In 2020, in the United States and across the globe, schools closed, and students were transferred to immediate virtual learning platforms. Families were frustrated and wanted assistance on the best way to educate children. As we progress into the future, the traditional classroom must transform into a student-oriented, technology-rich, and novelty-driven educational experience. Students no longer carry books but carry a Chromebook, tablet, or smartphone. School districts know there is a need to meet this generation of students and parents with educational options. Enrollment in traditional schools is down, while online schools from elementary to higher education are rising. Why? The next generation wants options. Should we preserve the traditional classroom, or do we make accommodations for the new generations? Do we keep the "old school" values or merge them with the new school. How can parents or guardians help their children become internally motivated to succeed in school? All of these questions and more are answered in this week's She Words podcast.  Schools need to support the intrinsic motivation of students by promoting autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Today's analytics incorporates the learner; it empowers the students and allows personal input in refining their learning. Listen to hear more about the analytics of today's learner as we dig deeper in this week's educational podcast dialogue. In this eighth episode of the She Words podcast, we discuss how to exhibit spiritual principles at work. There are times when it is hard to walk in your spirituality in your secular work environment. In Christian leadership, it is essential for leaders to understand; different leadership styles, behaviors, and the importance of how to stand firm in their values while working in a secular environment. Leaders are the voice of the organization and should display instrumental values and virtues in their daily workplace. Hultman writes, “values are key because they are driving forces in human motivation and corporate culture.” The virtues of an ethical leader are “deep-rooted dispositions, habits, skills, or traits of character that incline persons to perceive, feel, and act in ethically right and sensitive ways.”[i]Leadership can be uncomfortable, and as Christians, it can be challenging to hold on to Christian principles in a compromising work environment. The four suggestions discussed on how to be a Christian at work are; (1) let the Holy Spirit lead you, (2) become vulnerable and admit personal weaknesses, (3), practice patience with employees, while learning together how to accomplish organizational goals. The Making of a Christian Leader author Ted W. Engstrom emphasizes the need to blend both natural and spiritual qualities as a Christian leader. An effective Christian leader directs, motivates, and inspires.Connect with us on LadyRamsey (Instagram), She Words (FaceBook) or e-mail us at aramseyconsulting@gmail.com. In this She Words episode, the host Alicia Ramsey shares information, inspiration, and principles in the conversation entitled, Becoming A Better Leader. According to Michael Michalko, the author of Thinkertoys, A Handbook of Creative-Thinking Techniques, a successful leader knows how to take challenges and create opportunities. The leader pays attention to the problem, converts the crisis into a chance, and decides which option is pursued. The world is rapidly changing, so leaders must prepare to adapt. Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (NRSV). As Christians, we believe that Jesus was a leader who did not change, but every effective leader in the world must be prepared to adapt to this changing environment. We also discuss how leaders must adapt to different generations. John J. Sosik and Dongil Jung, the Full Range Leadership Development authors, share, "Each generation brings different values, mindsets, and ways of living." An effective leader can facilitate change and influence other generations to complete the mission to solve issues. This She Words podcast contains the first episode that includes an "Embrace the Exceptional" moment for families of children with special needs or what we like to call—exceptional needs. Phenomenal Woman

Phenomenal Woman

2021-03-1918:44

Phenomenal Woman is a lyrical poem written by Maya Angelou in 1978. The poem sends out a vital message to the world of convention and stereotypes that our power as human beings comes from being confident in our skin. This poem was published in And Still I Rise, a collection of powerful poems. Since then, the poem has been adapted and used by associations and groups worldwide to protest and political issues around inequality. That was 1978, and today in 2021, women are still fighting for the right to express themselves authentically. The poem conveys the idea that no matter society's pressures to conform and be who others want you to be, inner self-confidence is phenomenal. Episode three of the podcast is a conversation on how one should naturally love yourself, but life circumstances have caused many of us to judge, criticize, and condemn the body we live in. We must see ourselves through the lens of phenomenal because that is who we are. Thank you for downloading, subscribing, and sharing She Words. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
On January 20, 2021, Kamala Harris became the first female Vice President of the United States of America. The accomplishment comes 35 years after Geraldine Ferraro became the first female candidate for vice president in 1984. Countless articles and interviews share how Kamala Harris has broken "the glass ceiling" in leadership for women worldwide. TTo overcome the inequities and injustice, women work hard to navigate careers and shatter the glass ceiling. Women are a current diversity trend and assuming more leadership positions in the United States than ever before. Despite exceeding performance expectations, many organizations have difficulty retaining successful female leaders. In the second episode of the She Words podcast, the host Alicia Ramsey, a former educational leader, community leader, and performance coach, will share some strategies on how women can shatter the glass ceiling that keeps many women from excelling in leadership. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The first She Words Podcast reflects on creating a "Bucket List or Live List." As a mother of three children and one exceptional needs, confusion and uncertainty regarding our son's future pulled me into understanding the importance of living for today. Our son was born with Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum in 2001, and we were told he may not live long or if he did it would be with many limitations and possible deformities. We were scared, confused, hurt, and saddened. Today he is 19 years old and we are excited, happy, driven, and peaceful. How? Because as a family we decided to LIVE!Are you living life to the best of your ability? Do you wake up excited and ready to embrace each new day? In this podcast, I discuss what happens when one organizes your dreams, goals, and wishes into creating a "Bucket List or Live List" for you and your family. Our son Jeremiah opened my eyes to understanding how to enjoy the journey of life. Each small accomplishment is a step in the right direction. I know how to make a glass of lemonade out of lemons, how to see my glass as half full and not half empty, and how to lay down in peace at night knowing I did not waste a moment of this precious life given to me. Take a moment to listen and learn, the importance of creating a LIVE LIST. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
