I’ve gotta be honest, the whole egg freezing thing is a new concept to me, my baby-making days are LOOOONG over. I do think it’s a wonderful way to future-proof yourself. With egg freezing for women in their mid 20’s to early 30’s being a hot topic at the moment, I had Caitlin come onto the podcast to share her journey around egg freezing, why she did it, how she did it and the pure relief she felt once she realised she had options! Thank god for the wonders of modern medicine and the power of choice!Sometimes we have to take our own lives into our hands instead of waiting, future-proofing for possibility. It’s a brave thing to do, to take back the power of your own life and to live authentically to you. Self-authenticity isn’t selfish, it’s knowing what you want how to get it, and trusting in the process. Learn more about yourself and your resilience along the way! Support the showProject InBetween WebsiteEmail: info@projectinbetween.com.auKristy Anne WebsiteProject InBetween InstagramProject InBetween YouTube
Damon is a professional basketball wheelchair athlete. He has been playing since the age of 9 and is a young 29yr old man who lives with spina bifida.Damon is no stranger to the health system having endured over 90 different surgeries and overcome ALOT. We spoke openly about how being an athlete designed perfectionistic tendencies and often lent him to putting on a mask and pretending he was ok when he wasn’t. Suffering bouts of stress and burnout and depression and anxiety. We also discussed the insane “suck it up” culture and how detrimental it can be to emotional and mental well-being for kids and adults alike.Damon has learnt a lot from his own challenges both mentally and physically. He has been deep in the InBetween and is now determined to tell his story. He has learnt healthy boundaries for himself and his own mind and body health. Seeing Damon taking control of his life in a healthy way, leaning into knowing when he is headed for burnout. Then easily being able to express when he needs down time, while still being an athlete and doing something he loves. An amazing story of self recognition and pushing away the stigma. We all have brains mental health is NOT a dirty word. Be kind to your mind be kind to your body 🧠Support the showProject InBetween WebsiteEmail: info@projectinbetween.com.auKristy Anne WebsiteProject InBetween InstagramProject InBetween YouTube
Zach and Jeremy of podcast show "The Fitmess Guys" come onto the podcast to share their own unique journeys and changes in identities and the healing from the stress that comes within those changes. We also discuss the perils of parenting in the new age, not unlike being bought up in the dark ages of the 70's,80's and 90's where, Boys don't cry, Don't be a wuss, Get up and stop crying and all of the hideous messages boys received in an era where "mental health doesn't exist". Kind of a ridiculous notion when you look at it from a biological perspective.... Mental = Mind and the mind = brain..... We ALL have brains, so together we demystified brain and emotional health from a masculine and feminine perspective,  destigmatizing brain health and real human emotion one podcast at a time!Support the showProject InBetween WebsiteEmail: info@projectinbetween.com.auKristy Anne WebsiteProject InBetween InstagramProject InBetween YouTube
https://www.walkforawareness.org.au/ - October 11th, 2021https://www.mentalawarenessfoundation.org/Brisbane man Wesley Vasile, New Years Day 2011 was when he lost Christian, one of his closest friends, to suicide.Wesley was away in Mexico when he heard the news. Returning home to Brisbane for the funeral in January, he vividly remembers seeing another good friend, David, with whom he exchanged hugs, tears and memories of a good friend.Three months later David, too, took his own life. Wesley’s mind was a confused haze of questions. What had happened here? Why? And what could he do about it?The impact was felt by those close to Wesley. Closer than he thought. This series of events brought together a group of passionate individuals, all of who have had their fair share of experience with suicide. The topic of suicide was debated and analysed. The conclusion of the group was that suicide was taboo. Why hadn’t any of their other friends discussed it, even after these two tragic deaths?Support the showProject InBetween WebsiteEmail: info@projectinbetween.com.auKristy Anne WebsiteProject InBetween InstagramProject InBetween YouTube

Jordan Drew is a personal trainer, former professional NRL rugby league player (who debuted in the Brisbane Bronco's for a match) a feat that not a lot of people gain access to what an amazing accomplishment!Jordan is now passionate about helping children to become physically fit and actively encourages open conversation, dialogue and mentoring to children who may be in vulnerable situations. Why? because both of Jordan's parents suffered with mental illness that lead to addictions, resulting in Jordan losing both his father at age 8 and his mother in October of 2020, while playing football in France. A tradegy no one should have to go through. Jordan has instead taken his InBetween journey and turned it into a positive. Wanting to help children learn to use their voices in safe and positive environments when often adults can suppress their needs and wants. He also creates cartoons and has a podcast specifically based on what kids want to hear. As children, all they want to have is someone who hears them and allows them to voice their needs, wants and concerns. What an amazing mentor and advocate for kids!Jordan can be found:Instagram: @jordandrewptFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jordandrewPT/Support the showProject InBetween WebsiteEmail: info@projectinbetween.com.auKristy Anne WebsiteProject InBetween InstagramProject InBetween YouTube
