In the final episode in 2022 we have decided to share a recent master class, recorded by co host Melanie Leamy, on grounding techniques for stressful times. It has nothing to do with death and dying, but everything to do with how to live a good life today.
In this episode we are talking about the experience of endings, new beginnings, and the transition period. A lovely and lively conversation between the two hosts with many examples from their own lives to illustrate the meaning of endings, new beginnings, and transitional periods in our lives.
In this episode, I am explaining the Buddhist contemplative and reflective practice of The Five Remembrances. This practice is designed to help us in developing more appreciation and gratitude for this life.
An intimate conversation with Australian Death Doula and funeral celebrant Annie Wittlock about her experience of the Doula role and her thoughts on death and dying. Annie is a Buddhist practitioner herself but very open to all rituals that may help at the end of life, both the dying person and their loved ones.
In the first episode in 2022, we guide our listeners in a relaxing body scan meditation which helps to bring us right into the Now. During the final minutes of the episode we guide you in a short reflection which helps you to identify what is most important to you, what is less important right now, and what is not at all important and what therefore you can let go of. With our best wishes for 2022!
In this episode we talk about Elodie's experience with strong fear of "dying too soon" which lead to an inspiring conversation around the importance of living life fully, the uncertainty that comes with not knowing how long we will be alive, what it means to leave a legacy and much more.
We were so delighted to have Dr. Kathryn Mannix on our podcast for this episode. The truly inspiring conversation with this amazing lady included insights into some of the stories she tells in her well-known book "With The End In Mind" and we also spoke briefly about her second book "Listen" which has now been released.
In this episode we speak with Hermione Elliott, founder and director of Living Well Dying Well in the UK, about her journey with death and dying, her reason for setting up Living Well Dying Well, about the importance of the death doula movement in our communities and more.
We were delighted to have Maurice Adams on our podcast who spoke to us about his many encounters with death and dying both in his personal life and in his professional life. We spoke among many other Things about what success and failure could mean to different people when faced with their own death or the death of another person.
In this episode we are talking with Sue Brayne, author of her Granny Mo book series and her latest book "Is Teddy Going to Die?" and have a heart-felt conversation about death and dying and and her views on it as well as on the meaning of life.
In this episode Melanie Leamy talks about her own story of true love and soul connection, the time when she was the sole carer for her husband, the time when she knew that the most loving thing she could do for him was to let him go. She talks about his death and shares with us what she has learned from her grief following her husband's death. It seems very timely to be releasing this episode this month as on 15th May it will be exactly three years since her husband died.
In this first episode of our podcast "A Life To Die For" we are introducing ourselves to our listeners and talk about our intention for this podcast.
