We explore the theme of acceptance through a fictional story called 'Skate',  hear a song written and performed by Taz Lukas called Me and Myself, and take in a poem created collaboratively with the young people involved in the Grit project. We also talk to some experts about looking after yourself.
In this first episode of our new podcast series, Grit (1 Road In, 1 Road Out),  we're launching straight into the 2019-20 Black Summer Bushfires and taking stock of how we've been since. Then we talk with a disaster recovery expert and a psychologist about what has happened to us.  GRIT (1 Road In, 1 Road Out) is a podcast made in collaboration with communities from the bushfire-affected Shoalhaven. It features stories inspired by local young people and interviews with experts in trauma recovery, mental health, emergency response, and more. Grit is funded by Resilience NSW, Bushfire Community Resilience and Recovery Fund , The Australia Council for the Arts, and supported by Southern Youth and Family Services. 
It isn't just keeping the culture alive, it's to keep it growing.Ready Steady is back and for Indigenous Literacy Day we're bringing a special conversation to you from 2020!Jallarah, Tarlee, Nikki and Vicki chat to Kirli Saunders(Red Room Poetry) and Dr Aunty Jodi Edwards(Dharawal lanuage expert) about why learning language is important. Ready Steady was funded through the Communities For Children program by the Australian Government Department of Social Services under the Families and Communities Programme through Barnardos Australia.
Books are a way of learning heaps of words- but what happens when you find a word that you don't know?In this episode, we chat to Donna Bartley from ECTARC(Early Childhood Education Services and Training) to see how she reads to young kids.Then we dive into a familiar tale- " The Real Estate Agent and The Three Goldilocks' " where three little girls find a mysterious, empty play village... or is it a display village?And to bring it all together, we have a special conversation with Paint the Town REaD's Barbie Bates, Paint the Gong REaD's Tracey Kirk-Downey and Reading Bug!
