Description

Lots of entrepreneurs started their businesses as part-time side hustles while working for someone else, and small portion of them have managed to take their business and turn it into a full-time gig. This podcast series is an insight for those who have or want to take their business full-time as I go about interviewing business owners on the verge and those who have already done it.My name is Tom Adam, I went full-time with my business in 2018 - which is actually my 2nd business idea - and haven't looked back. Now I'm keen to share and learn what it takes and help others on their way.Feedback is always welcome, I'm learning on my way to do this too.

Jimmy HalleyGold NuggetsBefore taking the leap full-time, make sure the new thing you’re going to will sustain you. If you need to, keep another source of income but something that will allow you to focus your energy out of hours on your new business.- Level 1 - Learn the Skill- Level 2 - Acquire Clients- Level 3 - Bring new staff onto the team- Level 4 - Managing the teams- Level 5 - CEO, less hand-to-hand combat and more strategicHave to avoid overwhelm is to make sure you have a clarity and prioritisation. Learn how to prioritise what needs to be versus what you can schedule later.Look at your list, write it all down - so it’s not in your head. Create timelines, get organised so you can just do one thing at a time.Make things good enough to execute, so you can go and get feedback. Don’t wait for perfect.Remember that not everyone has it all figured out, no one is perfect. MINIMUM VIABLE PRODUCTYou can momentum through movement, motivation will come from action. Keep focusing on your goals, and ask yourself what are you doing today to get there.First you need to outsource the “hands” of the business, get staff to do the service side, then the admin and bookkeeping sides of the business - you’ll need to relinquish control over parts of the business BUT give them a framework. High people who are more passionate about the role you want them to do than you.Look into the cost benefit of you doing the role versus and employee. And don’t forget to work to live, not live to work. What sets Jimmy apart from his competition is he has lived and breathed what his customers do.
