We are a dynamic duo that has been together for the better part of our entire lives. John likes to undertake any household project while documenting it and I like to cook and feed anyone who steps foot in our house whilst keeping John out of trouble. Together, we have cultivated a humorous outlook on life and being married in the Midwest!

In this episode Angie and John introduce themselves and give a little overview on what to expect from the Midwest Marriage podcast. Enjoy!
Flash back to the 1990's when Angie and John crossed path for the first time. We discuss John's sweet mullet freshman year, his rebel status as a bad boy, and Angie's constant hair bows. Oh and there is also the stories of parties at Angie's and a very strange gift....
Our first interaction thanks to Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman (& Ritter).....and SNL. Angie gushes to her friends about how handsome and funny John is when not in class. The invitation for our first "date" and Twizzler-gate begins.....
John invites Angie to a movie and her response was.....no, Mom said the weather is too bad! The beginning of ski trips and John's "big ask." What will Angie decide about her "outros"?
In this episode we talk about junior prom that covers the first "compromise" we had with the selection of the tux John will wear and an interesting lamp. We also introduce a little something new to this podcast.
In this episode we discuss Angie's ultimate betrayal at John's expense as well as John's romantic tendencies. We also have 2 weekly adventures!

Episode 7 takes us back to the summer/fall of 1993 and the infamous shed parties. This particular shed party resulted in a call to ask a nurse! We also talk about Angie and John's first ball and a fun weekly adventure.
In episode 8 John and Angie discuss all their exciting winter date options in the Midwest, John's lead foot and the always exciting topic of dinner salad. Also, the weekly adventure segment introduces the infamous Mackenzie Childs.
In Episode 9 we talk about a couple different balls. First, we have another memorable dance together and then we travel to support our fellow classmates. In our weekly adventure segment we discuss birthday gifts that led us to many fun excursions.
In episode 10 we talk about scandals and a skip day that tarnished Angie's perfect record. John also gets to take the reigns on his own weekly adventure topic.
In episode 11 we talk about our VERY different spring break experiences. Angie's feelings about John's trip, the big issues on John's trip, and the first hurdle of a high school romance comes to light. Angie also dishes on one thing about John that drives her crazy....and not in a good way.
In this episode we talk about our college decisions and if we end up at the same college. We also discuss our wonderful graduation experience and John's little scare. Our weekly adventure segment is another of our favorites that we have enjoyed a lot this summer.
In this last episode of Season 1 we discuss the summer after our senior year of high school. The cracks in our high school romance start to show and we talk through the downward spiral and the end result.
In the first episode of Season 2 we talk about the aftermath of the relationship falling apart in the summer after our senior year in high school. We also get the first glimpse of what our first year of college looks like and the ups and down. Last but not least we talk about one of the best bands of all time.
In episode 2 of season 2 we talk more about the first year of college and introduce some new people to the listeners that spark some very entertaining college stories. We also discuss our thoughts on matriarchal vs patriarchal marriages in our first marriage tip!
Episode 3 brings us to the summer after our freshman year of college and a little more drama that comes from us being back in the same town. Of course John makes more bad decisions but we also talk about a fun weekly adventure.
In the 4th episode of season 2 we discuss a new year in college, John and Angie's new living arrangements and John's 21st birthday. We also talk about our fake IDs and a fun weekly adventure featuring our favorite prank target, Nate!
This episode finally brings Angie and John closer together during the last summer John comes home from college. We also get to hear how John was basically kidnapped that summer while looking for a summer job and what he ended up doing while Angie was diligently studying. This week we also have a new marriage tip for you.
In this episode we discuss another year in Madison for John and the last semester at SNC for Angie. John also buys a cow and we start up a New Years tradition. We also hear more about John's roommate Zeus and his questionable accommodations in Madison. On top of that the Weekly Adventure is a HUGE milestone for the state of Wisconsin!
