Goodness gracious me, I'm back! This week I took a peek at the ever so slightly underwhelming ladder match between the Rated-R Superstar and The Rainbow Haired Warrior. The year was 2009, the event - 'Extreme Rules', the city, New Orleans. I'm not sure what I was expecting to be honest, the ladder concept always seems a little stilted and ruins the flow of a wrestling match in my opinion. 'YOU'RE GOING TO DISQUALIFY ME... FOR THAT?'Our next episode focuses in on the intriguing debut of 47 year old, (but astonishingly spritely), WWE legend, Fit Finlay... Fit did wonders as a mid order Smackdown superstar during the Ruthless Aggression Era, was tough as old boots, and was always a reliably snug worker. Here we see him debut against Matt Hardy, another wrestling icon! 'A THUNDEROUS MOONSAULT!' The year was 2010, the setting, Phoenix. The combatants, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. What was on the line? The Deadman's streak and the Showstopper's career... I JUST HAD AN OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE! In front of a whopping 72,000 fans at Wrestlemania's 25th Anniversary, two certified LEGENDS did battle in Houston, Texas in what many describe as the greatest match of all time. Watch-a-long with me as I muse on this stupendous match up full of high spots, and a couple of botches along the way. You'll see kick ups, chokeslams, sweet chin musics, and a myriad of other wondrous moves. This week, we take a look at Hollywood Rock vs Goldberg. The latter seems to get a bit of a bad reputation in the WWE amidst fans and wrestlers alike, but I think this is slightly unfair. Sure, Goldberg is not particularly fluid, and he is a tad limited in the ring, but he's also a damn intense and impressive specimen, and he sure knows how to channel intensity into a wrestling match. We thought it was time to give him a fair shake! Enjoy this pretty solid wrestling affair. This week it was a glorious three-way between the Showstopper, the Game and the face that runs the place! In perhaps the most famous WWE/WWF match of all time, the all American legend takes on French monster Andre the Giant. Tune in to watch a throughly bronzed Hogan injure his back perfecting the most legendary 'slam heard around the world'. This is my first forage into what I'd describe as a vintage match, the 80s is a wrestling landscape I'm not overly familiar with, but I had a right hoot looking back into the grainy archives and watching along with this bout. GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY, I'M BACK!Sweep up the table splinters, fold away the chairs and close up the ladders as we bask, together, in the carnage of this epic bout between the Rated-R Superstar 'Edge' and the face of the WWE for way more than a decade, 'John Cena'. It's a title match up, and I had wonderful fun revisiting this classic that I vividly remember from the DVD I bought in my misspent wrestling addicted youth. Come to think of it, I used to get all my wrestling goods from 'Woolworths', a new defunct old British chain... This was for the Undisputed Championship, a title that seems, well, a little limp compared to the sexy World Heavyweight championship or the WWE Championship. Oh well, a titles a title, ey?
