Description

I've officially started my own podcast, folks! 😄 The episodes will be long (so far its been around the two hour mark every time), conversational, humorous, and in-depth. Down-to-earth, pagan-leaning folks talking about whatever tickles their fancy at the moment. No pretense, no over-structuring... just the natural flow of what happens when people come together to connect, laugh, and share within the spiritual community. 🔥❤ The Bonefire Podcast motto is: 'Pagans being people, not people being pagans.'

Brand new season! Here's the early access podcast before it's dropped to the public! In this episode I discuss where I've been and get vulnerable about what's been on my mind. I bring up the topic of transitions and how they permeate our lives daily. I also discuss the idea of feeling powerless in a community that often glorifies power and how, instead of villainizing that state, it can be seen a seed of potential. The Q&A feature this episode comes from Maleck who's asked about my thought...
Due to a heinous flu and getting bronchitis as a result, I have been unable to post this month's public episode until now. I apologize for the tardiness. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.  The following audio was recorded back in January and has been available via Patreon's tier 2 early access for over a month. There are two parts to it, with last month's episode being the first. However, today part two finally makes its way to the public. So, let's get on with the show! The conversation continues in this episode, as the tone becomes more in depth and thoughtful. 😊 It features my amazing friend, Charlie, a wonderful member of the Love Your Face Family discord, my social media manager, and a long-time dear friend (find her website at WitchesHealingTheEarth.com and read her newest blog post at Put Your Magic Where Your Mouth Is: Offerings of Service). In this episode we cover the curiosities of dialect, the ways that labels within spirituality have shifted over the years, add a few insights on the give and take of being a spiritual 'content creator', talk about the benefits of maintaining and sharing a learner's mentality, and discuss the power of honoring where you want to be without diminishing who and where you are.Remember... "There's so much of us packed into these lil' meat bodies! 🥰"Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
🔥From a Love of Books to the Expressive Magic of Makeup to Teen Nostalgia, Skincare, and Glow in the Dark Flooring...The first part of this podcast is light, fun, and nostalgic in nature. 😂 I've spilt them up into two episodes due to the length and the different vibe they have. Both episodes feature my inspiring friend, Charlie, a wonderful member of the Love Your Face Family discord, my social media manager, and a long-time dear friend (find her website at WitchesHealingTheEarth.com and read her newest blog post at Put Your Magic Where Your Mouth Is: Offerings of Service). In this episode we cover Charlie's yearly goals, talk about the perks of physical books vs audiobooks, reminisce about our teenage years and questionable fashion choices, talk about the magic of cosmetics, skincare, and clothing, and joke about Charlie's new sigil flooring...  Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
🔥 From opening a small business to addressing imposter syndrome to navigating social media...This episode is for the biz owners, the witches, and the gamer geeks! If you're all three of those then you'll love this. The episode features Katelyn, a member of the Love Your Face Family discord, a Fireside Guide, a wife, a mom, a business owner, and a very loving and intuitive witchy soul. You can find Katelyn & Mike at The Witch and Smith ( thewitchandsmith.com ). During this podcast we go over the struggles of opening a small business online, the love we have for all things gamer geek and nerdy (dungeons and dragons and magic the gathering are both mentioned), the different kinds of imposter syndrome and how they might challenge us (some great points on this one), and then we touch on navigating social media to stand out in the age of 'Keeping Up with the Jones'.It's always a pleasure chatting with Katelyn. I hope you enjoy the episode!Love your faces!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
🔥From Odin & Frigga to the importance of Mrs. Claus to making magic in the mundane...  This episode features Debbie, a member of the Love Your Face Family discord and a long-time practitioner and priestess. You can find her blog at The Temple Within – Wisconsin Witch). During this podcast we go over our relationships with Odin, the connection between Yule and Christmas traditions, the role of the supporter during these chilly times, and touch on some sage advice for beginners in the craft. This episode is 34 minutes longer than usual as it was such a juicy conversation, I just couldn't bear to cut anything out! There is so much food for thought tucked into it. I hope you enjoy it! Love your faces!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
This podcast really goes for a ride, y'all! 😂 It features Emily, a wonderful member of the Love Your Face Family discord ( find her blog at streakingfate.wordpress.com ). In this episode we cover the differences between meditation and journey work, neo-shamanism, the importance of ritual aftercare, the vestal virgins, personal vs community practice, god spouses, heathenry, and more.We end it with this hilarious conclusion: This podcast is a tour bus. 🚌Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
In this episode I sit down with Aiden Darling(The Grouchy Witch Podcast ) and Lisa (The Zodiac Knitter).Aiden, a first time guest on the podcast, is a Psychic Medium, YouTuber, and a caring, thoughtful patron who frequents the voice channels of our Discord. Lisa, who is a returning guest/co-host, is a dedicated Ancestral Priestess, Certified Crystal Practitioner, and my badass Community Manager. This episode was recorded with the approaching season in mind and contains lots of commentary on mindfulness during spirit work for Samhain. In episode 4 we discuss setting boundaries with spirits, give our thoughts on personal responsibility, talk about getting signs from our deities, and much more. We bring up the importance of honoring the voiceless, the shift in mainstream's magical focus over the last few years, and give a shoutout to the healers who are feeling burnt out. We emphasis the importance of active and deep listening this time of year.Off-topic question for this episode: What's your favorite nut? 😂This episode was recorded in early August of 2021.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
🔥From Ghost Shows to Haunted Dolls to Psychic Kids...This emergency episode is actually a replacement for the original as that recording had a major malfunction. So, the amazing and spirited Lisa aka The Zodiac Knitter (Ancestral Priestess & Certified Crystal Practitioner) graciously agreed to help me record another one on the fly. This conversation is very casual and weaves in and out of silliness, ethical ponderings, and many spooktacular topics. We start the episode by focusing on what we like and dislike about ghost shows, such as Ghost Adventures, Dead Files, Paranormal State, Ghost Brothers, and Ghost Hunters. We also dip into the topic of haunted dolls, discuss how we related to the show 'Psychic Kids', and talk about some everyday life issues as a psychic medium. I also have a mini-rant about what not to do when you're visiting someone's home as a ritual-goer, such as your High Priestess for this coming Mabon! Then Lisa proceeds to enlighten me of the concept of #paradrama. There's a lot of opinions on Zach Baggins throughout this recording. We even look up a few natal charts. 🤣  We end it with the off-topic question: What does your ideal day look like and why?NOTE: There's some fairly strong language in this episode since we were both very, very excited. 😅Love the podcast? TRIGGER WARNING: Child Abuse, Miscarriage, Weight Loss, Cults, Sexual Harassment Tune in to get to know my Discord community manager, Lisa, as she tells her life story. From growing up in a Mormon church to coming to terms being a medium to being a witchy mom with psychic kids, this episode is dense with thoughtful goodness. We also discuss the Ancestral Priestess Training course (coming in 2022), the struggles of having something called 'dyscalculia', our mutual nostalgia for Unsolved Mysteries, and our thoughts on dealing with troublesome ancestors.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
It's time to dust things off and get some shiny, new things rolling!I've officially started my own podcast, folks! 😄 The episodes will be long (so far its been around the two hour mark every time), conversational, humorous, and in-depth. Down-to-earth, pagan-leaning folks talking about whatever tickles their fancy at the moment. No pretense, no over-structuring... just the natural flow of what happens when people come together to connect and share within the spiritual community. 🔥♥During the live filming of this episode I asked the Love Your Face Family in Discord what we should name this podcast and when someone threw in 'The Bonefire Podcast' there was a resounding 'YESSS' in the chat. I think the name pulls on the ancestral fire that I so often talk about while also capturing the community gathering feel that I wanted to create with this new project. Perfect! (Also, I have absolutely no affiliation with the 'Bonfire Podcast' or the 'Bonefire Tarot', guys! Just wanted to put that out there. The Bonefire Podcast is it's own thing.)Most, if not all, of the future guests will predominantly be voices from  our LYF Discord family! Occasionally my two virtual assistants will be popping in to co-host with me. Since you already see them in the Discord so much I thought we should start the episodes off with them.TRIGGER WARNING: This episode contains a brief conversation about suicidal thoughts. Timestamp 1hr 35min - 1hr 37min.EPISODE ONE: My first guest is a close friend of mine and my social media manager, Charlie of CharlieSaysGo. Some of you may remember us as a divine duo from the Tea & Tarot full moon lives we did on YouTube 5 years ago. This conversation goes from something called 'Husky Zoomies'  to the importance of making space for creativity and well-being, to our love for Culver's, to a very frank discussion about the pros and cons of owning a spiritual business vs working a 9-5, and then lands firmly on the self-empowering notion of making our own moments.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/CrisAshburn)
