Description

The Traditional Millennial is a podcast hosted by singer/songwriter and Millennial, Brittany Dodson. On The Traditional Millennial, we seek to unearth those challenging yet intriguing questions that Millennials have. We will also tackle those issues that threaten to dissolve the unity of tradition, modernity, and faith. We’re talking to other Millennials, those seasoned, knowledgable saints that have come before us, and those Generation Z individuals who will carry the torch after us. We’re asking the tough questions, opening the door to deeper thought, and hoping to inspire those who want to step into a place where conventional meets contemporary and faith fills the gaps.

The myth busters minisodes are here! And in this first episode, we’re dealing with “obedience is better than sacrifice.” We often hear people say, “obedience is a sacrifice.” But per Scripture, is it really? Could it be that Jesus made the sacrifice and our obedience is the choice we make to serve Him?We’re briefly discussing this today. So, be sure to listen in!
Believing and trusting God during sickness can be difficult, even for the most faithful believer. Robert and Eudroa Hardin join Brittany for a conversation about trusting God and seeing His hand at work even in trying times.
Brittany is back again expounding on a video she posted on social media addressing those who use Jesus' name without having the authority to do so.  As loving and merciful as God is, He still requires obedience from His children.  And that obedience is to His will and His word.  Just because we aren't guilty of one sin that may seem detestable to us doesn't mean that we have the right to engage in another "less severe" sin.  Nor does it give us the right to use Jesus' name to call that person committing the "more severe" sin into subjection to the authority of Jesus.  In this episode, Brittany dives a little deeper into that conversation to address a few viewpoints on the matter.
Recently, Brittany posted a video on social media addressing all of the messages of material and monetary wealth that are being prophesied over peoples' lives. But as much as we desire physical things, we have to place even more importance on being delivered from sin and walking in abundance spiritually. In this episode, Brittany dives a little deeper into that conversation to address the question of why believers struggle.

Whether we want to accept it or not or even believe it, the devil is real and his schemes are craftier than we think. In today's episode, Brittany discusses whether or not the Christian should adopt certain new practices that seem harmless and are becoming increasingly prevalent and accepted by culture.
If we’re honest, we want what we want, when we want it, and how. But what if the things we want that we feel are what’s best for us hinder us from getting all that God has for us? And what if this desire comes in the form of people who aren’t good for us? Brittany discusses this in today's episode as she gives a few dangers that come when we don't let go of people who aren't good for us.
We've seen so much happen over time that has caused people to question their faith and even God's existence in general. In this episode, we talk to Dr. Sharliese Boateng about how she learned to see her Christian walk through the lens of the natural birthing process even while facing many challenges of her own. And she has come out on the other side acknowledging and seeing God's hand on her life. While many question the faith because of the failures of others, we have a chance to highlight the goodness of God in the life of someone who has trusted Him through it all.
“If you know where you are isn’t where you’re supposed to be, then you know your next step is somewhere else." This quote by Dr. Mia Phillips basically sums up how informative, thought-provoking, and inspiring this episode would be to anyone. Today, we are sitting down with her as she walks us through how her successful background as an accomplished educator and entrepreneur has allowed her to become a strong asset in her community and in the kingdom.
Living in a social media driven society, something we don't think hear a lot about is the challenging moments and mistakes that lead to our growth and successes—poor choices in dating, choosing careers, etc. As believers, people need to know that we haven't always been on the mountain top and that we've had some valleys to walk through (unfortunately, some of our own making) to get to a place of healing. But they also need to know that we didn't linger in our valleys for too long. On today's episode, Jasmini Sanders shares her story of God's unwavering love in her life in hopes that someone else can experience the same in theirs.
If you're a Millennial, you know the pressure to "give the people what they want." You know what it means to succumb to the need to stay occupied with tasks in order to feel accomplished. But even though the results can be good for others, is this healthy for you? Brittany tackles this topic that she has also fallen victim to and gives us the answer for how we can overcome the need to be busy to feel effective.
Is there an obligation of shepherds to equip those in their flock to further the Gospel of Christ outside of their local church? Do we see this happening a lot? Is it lacking? Are some leaders selfish for not doing this? Or do they just not know how? In today's episode, Brittany will touch on this topic and how it affects church growth.
Fasting From Sin?

Fasting From Sin?

Just a short, sweet episode around the topic of fasting. For those of us who are familiar with this practice, we've become accustomed to fasting from certain things. But are there certain things that you can't fast from? Today, Brittany briefly discusses this and how believers are to properly incorporate this practice into their lives.
Have you ever struggled with accepting someone who has given themselves a title but aren't fully functioning in the full responsibility of that title? This happens in the world, but it also happens in the church more often than we would like to admit. In today's episode, Brittany is going to break down some commonly mishandled church titles and how we can identify those who may have mislabeled themselves in the Kingdom of God.
On this episode, Brittany addresses a discussion shared on social media dealing with God sending the believer a spouse. Tune in as she seeks to clarify this belief and how it may or may not be the best advice for the Christian.
