Sarah O’Brien Hammond is the founder of the NoW NYC. She spent over 25 successful years in recruitment and never thought she was going to become an entrepreneur. However, when she started reflecting on what success really means to her and what she values the most, she also realized that she was at a loss as to her own life purpose. It dawned on her that as we grow older, our definition of success changes along with our needs and motivators. She then embarked on some sort of self-exploration and re-evaluation, she unsubscribed from the societal concept of success, which is from money, power, and influence. Then she started creating communities for women where they could openly discuss things that truly matter to them but which are not normally part of mainstream conversations. Drifting away from the world’s idea of success to her translated into the priority of intentions she listed at the onset of the following year onwards.Highlights:      From acquiring money, power, and influence, her new definition of success now revolves around the purpose of prioritizing family. Family over making money.Redefining success necessitates an understanding that it is a long runway that requires a lot of sacrifice, strategic planning, working smarter, and being surrounded by the right people. Ingesting the right things in all facets of life is a necessary practice in the transition (the power of positivity)Consistently showing up with one’s best self is necessary if one wants to change and have more control in her personal life. The NoW NYC is a community of women where members open up and engage in conversations that are otherwise not discussed in other environments. It includes empowering and coaching high-performing women as well as breaking misconceptions on certain issues. Its programming is designed from the feedback of its members. As one intentionally defines her purpose in life, it is important to create stillness, time, and space to dream. It is largely how The NoW NYC benefits its members. In every event, they are supposed to learn something; be inspired to take action; and, should have establish a connection with others. Charlie Beswick is a blogger, an author, CEO of More than a Face, and a mom to 18-year-old twins, Oliver and Harry. While Oliver was born healthy, Harry was born with a craniofacial condition, meaning he had an underdeveloped face and was later diagnosed with autism. Driven to make a difference in people's lives, being a teacher (for over 16 years now), to her feels like second nature. However, despite that deep love for her calling, the challenges of raising a medically complex child made her take a two-year break from teaching. That sabbatical leave gave her time to go back and read all the journals that recorded her honest expression of her frustrations, questions, and struggles to be a mom to a child with special needs, and this formed the basis of her book Our Altered Life. Highlights:With the support and encouragement of her friends who knew about her journey, she published the book (which she wrote for 9 years), Our Altered LifeParents who reached out to thank her for speaking up for them through the book made her realize she could now help and make a difference among these parentsThus started the creation of a space where people can honestly freely and vulnerably express their feelings without being judged - This community has evolved since recording and is called S.E.N.D* Gin & Cheese Tips for parents who are just beginning on a similar journey: be organized (keep records, write thoughts and feelings), communicate especially to a spouse, and keep connected with a support systemWords of encouragement are generally considered helpful in these situations, but a safe space for honest and brutal expression of frustrations could be the long-missing link to true healingIt took her 6 years of mothering Harry before she finally admitted she needed mental health support. And now, instead of encouraging moms to be superwomen, she resonates with the huge emphasis on self-care and simple living. Apart from helping parents with special needs and diagnosis, she also works with organisations who want to better understand and support working carers. If you want to learn more from her and her journey, look her up at @ouralteredlife.com or info@charliebeswick.* S.E.N.D - Special Educational Need and Disability -----52 Weeks of Me is hosted by Jacklyn Osborne and Erika Brooks.Check out our website - www.52weeksofme.net or follow us on Instagram @fiftytwoweeksofme.For suggestions and comments, email us at fiftytwoweeksofme@gmail.com.

Ever since her first year in college, Grace found opportunities to soak in the business world starting with Coca-Cola, IBM, then consulting at Bain. She eventually managed the consumer line of educational software products including The Oregon Trail where that company’s cool tagline "for the love of learning" attracted her to join. Following the company’s successful exit, she got to work with four more startups before she decided to use all her experiences and expertise to start her own company in 2003, which she named Savvy Marketing Group. Her firm started out by working with tech companies on their marketing strategies, then added healthcare, educational, business and financial services, and non-profits as well.  After being asked to tackle coaching of leaders as well as business strategy engagements, in 2015, she rebranded her firm to be called Savvy Growth. If you are curious how you too could be free from this hedonic treadmill, and learn the gratitude exercises for greater happiness, Grace is the right person to guide you. Join her Happiness & Leadership community where she will share ways each week to be happier, and therefore a better leader. Niki Vinogradoff is a Finnish mindful life coach living with his wife and nine-year-old daughter in the Czech Republic. His journey to mindful coaching started at his great-grandfather's funeral when he was three. The reality of death and the thought that one day his parents will eventually die was so hard for him to handle. But it made him somehow more meditative about life. After feeling "home" at the Buddhist meditation center a year earlier, he decided to live there when he was twenty-six and stayed there for what he considered as four years of honeymoon with meditation where he had meditated 5-6 hours every day.Highlights:Mindful life coach - helps/guides clients to open and access wholeness in life through observation beyond the content of the mindAliveness -  being fully alive is a core value that leads to finding oneself at the moment instead of getting lost in itBecoming unlimited - creating the life that we want by asking what is most important to you, by setting/achieving goals; because the more we get what we want, the more we want to do for othersIt is hard to set achievable goals, but without goals, there would neither be direction nor results. The fear of failure may hinder one from identifying goals. Still, it is important to do so for a number of benefits including the dopamine blocking the cortisol from getting attached to the body while one is on the way to achieving results. Since we all desire a more comfortable experience makes setting clear goals more compulsory rather than optional. But it also requires more awareness and mindful focus to set and attain them. Should you need Nikki's wisdom and services for drawing your own goals, follow him up via the following: Email: coaching@nikivinogradoff.comLinkedIn: Niki Vinogradoff Coaching & TrainingErickson Coaching International-----52 Weeks of Me is hosted by Jacklyn Osborne and Erika Brooks.Check out our website - www.52weeksofme.net or follow us on Instagram @fiftytwoweeksofme.For suggestions and comments, email us at fiftytwoweeksofme@gmail.com.

Raised in Virginia, Katherine Wintcsh is married to a great husband and has two children. She spent 15 years of her life in advertising. And then she realized that such agency is a young person's game. Then she started The Mom Complex through which she helps huge companies improve their products and services and sell them to moms. The switch gave her so much joy that she became her boss, got to control her schedule, and had more time for herself as well as for her family.Highlights:The Mom Complex - a company that helps high-profile brands to understand how moms use the products and the services they preferResearch factor - the research is designed in such a way that moms answer them honestly and accurately through opinion parties instead of focus groupsThe masked perfect mom - projecting oneself as a perfect know it all mom, according to her research is highly correlated with how bad they feel about themselvesDifferent by design - while men are wired with the ability to focus on one thing, women are wired with thoughts like a spiderwebApart from working with great brands, she is also helping women cope with the pressures of being a mom in a society that expects moms to know it all, to do it all, and to know best all the time. Although these could be considered compliments, she wants women to liberate themselves from this mental bondage by prioritizing self-care and by allowing themselves to be vulnerable just like everyone else. Now that she has tamed the "dragon of self-doubt", she is out to help other women do the same. Kevin Olmsted resides with his wife and children in California where he was raised. He and his wife both had stable jobs in wine and technical respectively that enabled them to provide well for their family as well as save for vacations, trips, and special occasions. But after 23 years of wine selling, he had to stay home to take care of their child who had displayed symptoms of eating disorder.Highlights:The symptoms: Their child who used to be a very active and achieving athlete suddenly became withdrawn, and secretive and dramatically lost 30 pounds in two months. The gold standard:  Addressing the problem takes one or both parents doing it hands-on and at home. The decision: Since the family could live well enough with what his wife was earning, he decided to be the one to stay home for their anorexic child. The mental shift of perspective: Even his anorexic child encouraged him to write a book to help other families with the same or similar struggles. The need for a support system: It is important to be in a community that understands what you are going through and where you could give and take the necessary support. What he went through in the last three years and a half is written in his book Scared Dad Feeding. It is not only a record of his experiences but also a way of educating and encouraging other families who might need guidance as they take care of their children who also struggle with the symptoms of anorexia. One pressing point he wants to get across is that parents should jump to addressing it right away before it is too late. For more information and guidance, look him up on the following platforms:https://www.scareddadfeeding.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/kevinolmsted-----52 Weeks of Me is hosted by Jacklyn Osborne and Erika Brooks.Check out our website - www.52weeksofme.net or follow us on Instagram @fiftytwoweeksofme.For suggestions and comments, email us at fiftytwoweeksofme@gmail.com.
