Marriage is seen as the ultimate expression of love, the biggest commitment you can make to another and the desire and hope that it will last forever. As someone that's been married and divorced in their 20s, and experienced my own parents getting divorced as a child, marriage has been an interesting subject to explore, and the more I've explored and experienced, the more I've felt it necessary to share some of the realities of what marriage means in today's day and age. From personal experience, to looking at the stats, marriage needs to be a well-informed decision as opposed to the assumed trajectory of life. It doesn't guarantee you happiness, and it isn't always the answer to a fulfilling life, and it certainly isn't the only way to be happy and at ease with your life. Listen in to hear about the perspectives on marriage to consider for if and when the questions comes. *DISCLAIMER - The information provided in this podcast is for information purposes only based on my own experiences and research. Back when I first started dating, I had to learn ALL the basics. No matter how much dating content you consume, some of the lessons you learn ahead of time can't easily be applied in the moment. There's how you feel, all the "what if"s and you're dealing with the unpredicatbility of another person you don't really know. And as I soon learnt, dealing with not getting a reply in dating is one of the trickiest to balance - you don't want to look needy but you want a reply. You don't want to be left on read but what if something's genuinely happened to them. There's no exact right or wrong here, but two years on, I've come to my conclusions about how to deal with being left on read and not getting a reply in dating. Being in a situationship SUCKS! It's confusing, often frustrating and it's so, so painful. You fall into the trap of getting into a routine with the guy you like, and keep refraining from bringing anything up in case he doesn't feel the same way about you back... but he's friendly and flirty, so surely he likes you, but how can you know?! And before you know it, you're knee-deep in a year-long situationship that you finally build the courage to ask about and it's not good news... In this episode I'll talk about identifying the signs that your situationship isn't progressing, understanding your own wants and needs, and having honest conversationsan with yourself and your love interests. It's important to remember that your happiness and emotional well-being matter too. Moving on can be scary, but I hope this episode inspires you to take the necessary steps towards a happier, healthier future.Join Back To Dating ProgrammeNo BS Guide to DatingReferences:Dr Stever Peters - Interview on Diary of a CEO, E215Ep 87 - Letting Go of The Guy You Never Dated Support the show-----RESOURCES:The Single Life Confidence Workbook - an 80-page workbook designed to help you overcome loneliness and to not let being single stop you living your life! Theories of attachment styles have been around for decades, originally being developed by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth in the 1950's. They were originally based on the idea that we develop attachment styles based on our early childhood experiences with our caregivers. But what if it's not just about our early childhood? What if there are other origins for our attachment styles? In this video, I talk about the alternative factors that contribute to the development of attachment styles, which might give you the answer to why you've got an insecure attachment style even if your childhood upbringing was absolutely fine!Listen in for a deep dive on where your attachment style could've come from, and let me know what you think by dropping me a DM on Instagram.Support the show-----RESOURCES:The Single Life Confidence Workbook - an 80-page workbook designed to help you overcome loneliness and to not let being single stop you living your life! Leaving a long-term relationship is SCARY. You don't know what's going to happen once you intiate the ending... and as soon as you do, the doubt creeps in. You wonder if you made the right decision. From the very first episode of The Single Girl's Guide to Life, Chantelle explores the mindset shift you need to enjoy your single life and stop obsessing over dating. She dives into the pressure we experience when we're single to get back out there and date when we've only just got ourselves out of a relationship. It seems like everyone associates being in a relationship with being happy - and it just isn't true for us all and has limiting effects on how we can enjoy our single life if we stick with that mindset too.
