Description

Does what it says on the tin: We're talking with leading practitioners about the meeting points between coaching and psychedelics, how they can work together to help clients achieve growth, insight, learning and personal or professional development. We've recognized that beyond the power of psychedelics to be used for healing, fixing and the treatment of disorder, disease and suffering, there is a space for coaching, but nobody is talking about it, which we believe to be at best unproductive, and at worst dangerous for clients. That's why in this podcast we explore best practice, introduce integration methodologies, discuss ethical issues, and generally share resources, knowledge and experiences, as well as raising questions, concerns and awareness. Our mission is to take important conversations into the public domain so that established coaches can maintain or expand professional standards, new coaches curious about this work have access to important questions and information, and clients who may be seeing a coach to assist their psychedelic journey learn what coaching in this field might entail. We work to help keep clients safe and inspire coaches to deliver the best work they can in this powerful but very much emerging new field.

In this episode we’re talking to Marcel Braun and Nigel Pedlingham about coaching & psychedelics. Our host Yannick, Marcel and Nigel have been writing the academic white paper on Coaching and Psychedelics and so Julia offered to interview us so that we may lay out our argument in an arguably somewhat more engaging way and offer a behind-the-scenes look into 4 years of developing this important piece of work. _______NIGEL PEDLINGHAM is a change maker and social justice advocate, a consciousness guide, ceremony leader and psychedelic facilitator, as well as being a loving husband and father. MARCEL BRAUN has a B.Sc. degree in Psychology and is currently graduating in his master studies at University of Trier. His study-related interests focus on deep psychological / existential learning states and their context-relatedness, as well as their integration into self and society. For several years now, he has been studying psychedelics as one important tool to access such deep learning states. Hereby he establishes self-experiential rooms of deep psychological learning, using also non-psychedelic methods (meditation, breathwork, inquiry, circling) as well as counselling preparation and integration of psychedelic experiences. YANNICK JACOB is a Coach, Trainer & Supervisor with Masters degrees in Existential Coaching and Applied Positive Psychology. He teaches coaching at Cambridge University and coaching supervision at the International Centre for Coaching Supervision, and he’s the Course Director of the School of Positive Transformation’s Accredited Certificate in Integrative Coaching, for which he gathered many of the world’s most influential coaches and earliest pioneers. Formerly Programme Leader of the MSc Coaching Psychology at the University of East London, Yannick now presents at conferences internationally and his book, An Introduction to Existential Coaching, was published by Routledge. In this episode we’re talking to Jascha Renner about coaching & psychedelics. Jascha is one of the people for whom psychedelics unexpectedly changed their lives fundamentally for the better. His great curiosity and interest in psychedelic transformational work led him to found SET & SETTING in 2019. They help people use psychedelics to improve their lives. This includes various online courses and legal psilocybin retreats in the Netherlands. He also co-founded the coaching service UNLOCK YOUR SELF. He wants to enable people to also find the way to their true self - with or without psychedelics. Jascha noticed early in his work with his own feelings and emotions that everything he had always been looking for was already inside him. In the course of his life, he simply had forgotten to truly listen within. Psychedelics and other modalities empowered him to listen closely again for the first time. Psychedelics are, in his view, the most powerful tool to support this work - of course only with appropriate integration and reprocessing of what has been experienced._______Show notes available athttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZnPopvbY-M0pJA2Zz8Ar0biOK-zE_SHDggxxd53ybNI/edit?usp=share_link_______Stay up to date with the latest episodes by joining our mailing list: http://bit.ly/CoachingAndPsychedelicsMailingList If you know a coach who is (thinking about) offering their services in the psychedelic space, or if you have a friend who is thinking about hiring a coach to support them on their psychedelic journey, why not let them know about this podcast? In this episode we’re talking to Lorna Liana about coaching & psychedelics. Lorna Liana is the CEO of EntheoNation, a media company covering psychedelics, plant spirit shamanism, and visionary culture. She is also the Founder of The Plant Spirit School, an online school offering workshops, programs, and 1-to-1 mentoring to individuals and professionals in the psychedelic and plant medicine sector. With over 25+ years of psychedelic exploration and 100s of ceremonies, Lorna is an advocate for the safe, intentional use of entheogens as a tool of self-mastery, as well as the practice of sacred reciprocity. She credits the intentional use of ancestral plant medicines, such as ayahuasca and magic mushrooms, for healing a lifetime of racial and colonial trauma. Her experience growing up in colonial Hong Kong informs her work on plant medicine decolonization and inspires her to further the expansion of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the psychedelic sector.Having personally experienced the pervasive lack of post-ceremony psychedelic integration support in plant medicine culture, Lorna was inspired to launch the Plant Spirit School Integration Coach Certification Program, which is designed to provide plant medicine practitioners with essential psychedelic harm reduction training and support them in becoming thriving integration coaches in the Psychedelic Renaissance. Mention code "ENTHEO" to get $150 off of Lorna's Psychedelic Integration Coach  Certification Program at https://plantspiritschool.com/__Show notes available here.__Stay up to date with the latest episodes by joining our mailing list: http://bit.ly/CoachingAndPsychedelicsMailingList If you know a coach who is (thinking about) offering their services in the psychedelic space, or if you have a friend who is thinking about hiring a coach to support them on their psychedelic journey, why not let them know about this podcast? Her mission is to help people remember that they are powerful creators and here to heal and help themselves, heal the planet and help all of us to ascend to higher levels of consciousness. Shiri studied spiritual psychology in Los Angeles with a focus on Psychedelic Integration Therapy, created 8 successful businesses and along the way created the Psychedelic School through which she offers training programs for psychedelic integration coaches. We talk about spirituality and business, her background in coaching, how she became the successful psychedelic entrepreneur she is today and what she recommends to other coaches who are about to venture into this field. We also talk about the differences between coaching and therapy, if a psychedelic coach necessarily needs to have their own experiences with psychedelics in order to do good work, and why she switched successfully from 1:1 Sessions to offering programs for groups. Her new Coach Training programme offers a free introductory webinar which you can book via https://www.psychedsoul.com/a/2147507622/oqNoBCrV ___________________________ Show notes available at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1om5ZBsxBPVdsyVe6q6s4sZb1D2EEzOX94fn8Cwhe7v8/edit?usp=sharingStay up to date with the latest episodes by joining our mailing list: http://bit.ly/CoachingAndPsychedelicsMailingList If you know a coach who is (thinking about) offering their services in the psychedelic space, or if you have a friend who is thinking about hiring a coach to support them on their psychedelic journey, why not let them know about this podcast?
