I have always had issues with skin health from blemishes and blackheads to itchy rosacia and dry skin.  In the past I spent a fortune on skin care products which were actually making my skin worse.  I now realise just how much stress, hormones, diet and hygiene play when it comes to the health of our skin.  In this episode I chat with Averil Bates from Averil Naturopathics with a focus on adult acne and skin health.   Averil is a qualified Naturopath passionate about herbal medicine, whole life nutrition and giving her patients the tools to live the healthiest life possible.  Averil treats a range of things including hormonal imbalances, gut conditions, thyroid, fertility – you name it.  Join Averil and I as we chat about the largest organ of our body, the skin.   What is adult acne?  What may be at the root cause?  Sections of the face linked to areas within the body?  Treating the skin from the inside out looking at food, nutrients and herbs for.  We also touch on hydration, exercise and lifestyle changes.  If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition  and @averilnaturopathics on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with AverilWebsite Averil NaturopathicsFacebook https://www.facebook.com/averilnaturopathicsInstagtam https://www.instagram.com/averil.naturopathics/Sammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/

Something I am seeing more and more often in clinic and around the community both local and online is signs of Orthorexia.  This is something I have personally struggled with in the past and something I feel needs to be brought to the forefront.  What is Orthorexia? In a nutshell, it is fixation and obsession with proper eating for better health.  Unlike Anorexia, it is more of an obsession about the quality of food you are putting into your body than the quantity. In this podcast episode I chat with Ivanna Ruger, a clinical nutritionist and personal trainer with a degree in complementary medicine who works in the field of Nutrigenomics. She is dedicated to empowering people to take control of their own health through biohacking and activation.  Join Ivanna and I as we chat about our struggles with Orthorexia and how "clean" eating turned into a harmful obssession.   We share some of the signs of Orthorexia, how they impacted on our day to day lives and what we discovered to help us get through this unhealthy relationship with food.  If you feel you may be showing signs of Orthorexia, it is important to get into contact with someone who can help guide you to a better relationship with food.  If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition and @ivanna_ruger on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with IvannaInstagram @ivanna_ruger Facebook Ivanna RugerSammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
We are more bacteria than we are gut and our bacteria communicate with our brain and impact on our neurotransmitters levels.  We also produce neurotransitters in our body through amino acids broken down from the protein we eat.  It only makes sense that the foods we eat and the state of our gut health would impact on our food. In this episode I talk about the gut brain connection and why it is so important to nourish our guts and slow down to improve our mental health.    If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition on instagram or send me a DM.Sammy's LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
Is it just me, or is it my hormones?  This is a question I get asked a lot in my clinic from women ranging from mid 30s to mid 50s.  So many of us have spent a long time outside of the body whether its raising kids, people pleasing,  getting the career we desire and go go go we have forgotten to slow down, listen to our bodies and give it the  love and nourishment it needs.  As a result, our body can end up out of balance, particularly our hormones, leading to a range of unwanted symptoms. In this podcast I chat with the industry leader in hormone health and wellness, Nat Kringoudis!   As “The Hormone Revolutionist”, her crusade is to facilitate greater understanding of our bodies, to allow all of us to make informed decisions and encourage us to be in the driver's seat of our own health.  In this episode we talk all things perimenopause from the symptoms experienced, the hormones involved, our liver health, testing, contraception and hormone replacement therapy.   We also talk on lifestyle changes including the right exercise, reframing stress, diet and supplements that can support our health leading to a much more happier journey through perimenopause.  If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition and @natkringoudis on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with NatInstagram @natkringoudisWebsite https://www.natkringoudis.com/Sammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
Words have so much power. If you haven’t read the four agreements I highly recommend you do.  One of the agreements I wanted to talk about today is being impeccable with your word and to speak with integrity. To say what you mean and avoid using your words to speak negatively to yourself or gossip on others.  In fact, gossip is considered a way to release endorphins and make us “feel” good much like when we turn to sugary foods or binge Netflix…. Use the power behind words in the direction that is going to be more positive for you and those around you -  with truth and love.

In the past I was labelled with Anxiety and Panic Disorder as a child and out of all the things that I have learnt to support this, the BREATH is the most powerful.  It is free, we all have access to it and at any point in time, anywhere. It can bring us back to a state of calm almost instantly and has become so popular in the past few years.  With all the things I have read and learnt about breath, I realise I have only just scratched the surface of how powerful it can be.  In this episode we welcome Josh Williams, Breathwork Practitioner, NLP Practitioner, Master Hypnotherapist and Cold Therapy Healer to the podcast.   Having walked through the journey himself living with pain, addition and low energy, Josh helps people overcome fear and anxiety to live a life of freedom.  He has found the tools to change his life and the ripple effect is now in place.    Josh talks about his own journey to healthy through travel, addiction and personal growth.  Josh shares his knowledge on the breath and how it can not just calm us, it can alkalise our whole body for optimum healing.  Josh also shares how he integrates this into his coaching sessions for whole body transformations. A lot of conversations I have with women are the lack of support received from their partners and how they feel they are left to do it all.  They also don’t make sense of how their partners parent, don’t agree with it, call them ignorant or too rough – whatever it may be.  From my own personal experience I have come to learn men parent differently for a reason.  In today’s modern world I see so many men struggling to find the right way to parent anymore - so they shut off completely.  This can lead to poor relationships and disconnection in our homes.  Ladies, they are males, not females and they connect on a completely differently level that so many of us can’t comprehend. We are wired differently.  In this episode I chat with Jayden Leigh, Concious Parenting Advocate & Emotions Coach,  to get his perspective on the parenting side of the world.  As a husband and father of 2 young kids, Jayden shares his own incredibly inspiring journey that lead him to helping families find balance between work and home and facilitate deeper connections with themselves and their kids.  Join Jayden and I as we talk about the importance of releasing control and finding what is behind your emotions and the need to control,  sharing responsibilities, making sense of each other's inbuilt parenting styles and how to bring both masculine and feminine energies within the home for all rounded thriving children and connection.  If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition and @jaydenleighofficial on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with JaydenInstagram @jaydenleighofficialFacebook Emotions & Concious ConnectionsWebsite https://jaydenleigh.com/Sammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
Does intimacy with your partner or even yourself place last in your list of priorities?   So many of us have forgotten just how important it is to keep intimacy alive for our relationship and our own health.  We are not robots but sexual beings and this is a big slice of the pie when it comes to wholehearted health and healing.  In this episode I chat with Ranetha Perera, a Women’s Relationship & Sexuality Coach who works with women to help them unshackle from their stories of who they think they should be and empower them into their full self-expression.  Join us as Ranetha talks on the importance of intamacy and connection with oneself to create space for jucier relationships.  We also talk about body shaming, what foreplay might be for you and your partner, sexuality, communication, kink, tantra, delicious orgasms and so much more.If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition and @ranetha.perera on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with RanethaInstagram @ranetha.perera Facebook Untamed QueensWebsite https://www.ranethaperera.com/Sammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
We are a product of our environment and so are our children.  Core beliefs, behavioural patterns and our model of the world are built through the language, words and actions used around us.  In teens, this can be the schooling system, friends and social media.   It seems the need for acceptance outside ourselves is much higher than ever before and so many of us have never been equipped to find acceptance and love from within.  What if we had the tools required to trust ourselves and live life 100% authentically and you could model this for your own children?  Imagine if these same tools were taught in schools? The world would be a different place right?  In my latest episode I chat with Caity Walker, transformational mindset coach and the founder of "We are Mindfluencers".   Her company encourages self-responsibility, authenticity and expression using an integrated approach to self-development and learning.  She has been facilitating large scale corporate and school workshops helping others to become the best version of themselves - spreading her message far and wide.  Amazing right?    Join us as Caity talks about her personal journey in finding her true self and what lead her to her true calling.  We also talk about some of the tools she is now using to help our children find confidence and set off on a journey of self-discovery over comparison and low self-esteem.If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition and @wearemindfluencers on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with CaityInstagram @wearemindfluencersFacebook We are MindfluencersWebsite https://wearemindfluencers.com.au/Sammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/

Take away my coffee and I won't come back!!  These are words I often hear when I suggest cutting back or removing coffee from someone's diet.  In today's episode I talk about the good, the not so good and the anxious side to caffeine.    Caffeine, after all, is a drug.  Are you relying on this to get you through your days and what is it really doing to our body?  Is it behind the excess body fat stored, the sleepless nights, the anxious feelings and thoughts?    If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition on instagram or send me a DM.Sammy's LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
Probiotics!  Do they actually work?  How do we look for the right ones?  What do the numbers mean?  What do each of the strains do?  How can they help us improve our health?  Are they just for gut health?  How do we store them?  When should we taken them? With or without antibiotics?  What about fermented foods?  So many questions.... and who better to answer your questions than the Director of Education at Activated Probiotics.   Rebecca Edwards is a speaker, writer, educator, and qualified naturopath with more than 18 years of experience educating on all aspects of complementary and integrative health, teaching and lecturing around the world.  She now works at Activated Probiotics as the Director of Education, where she loves nothing more than sharing cutting edge research with her team of educators, and the practitioner and medical communities internationally. In this episode join Rebecca and I as we take a dive into the world of probiotics.   If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition and @activatedprobiotics on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with Rebecca and Activated ProbioticsInstagram @activatedprobioticsWebsite https://activatedprobiotics.com.au/Sammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
Anxiety has been a huge part of my life.  I was diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder when I was 11yo and it set me on quite a journey.  When it wasn’t present in my life it did continue to lurk in the background and show up in other ways without even realising.  Anxiety takes on many forms in our lives – "the shapeshifter".  Over the past 6 months I have done some deep emotional healing and learnt it's not about battling anxiety but understanding and working with it.   There’s a lot to learn about anxiety and in this episode I chat with a pro when it comes to this topic.  Georgie Collinson, also known as "Georgie the Naturopath" is a bachelor-degree qualified naturopath, nutritionist, RTT hypnotherapist and mindset coach helping women with high-functioning anxiety to become the masters of their anxious mind.  Georgie is also the host of the “Anxiety Reset Podcast” which I highly recommend.  I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did.  If this episode has resonated with you in some way, I would love to know more.   Take a screenshot and tag @seedsoflifenutrition and @georgiethenaturopath on instagram or send me a DM.To connect with GeorgieInstagram @georgiethenaturopathWebsite https://georgiecollinson.com/Anxiety Reset CommunityAnxiety Reset PodcastSammy' LinksIG @seedsoflifenutritionFB https://www.facebook.com/seedsoflifenutritionhttps://www.seedsoflifenutrition.com.au/
