The teachings of Scripture are very clear that we are to sacrificially love our neighbor. The Christian should ask themselves how to do that in a world full of sin and misery. In this episode, the VC works through the Scriptures to help illuminated the call of loving neighbor and how the Bible applies that in all the Scriptures.
Jesus clearly says His kingdom is not of this world. He was telling us something about the nature of His kingdom. Pacifists assert that this has to do primarily with the nonviolent nature of His kingdom, but is that a sufficient explanation for the information? Was Jesus setting up a rival earthly kingdom but through alternative means or was His kingdom radically different in every way?
One major assumption of Christian pacifism is that weapons are evil and that removing them is a positive good. The VC looks at the Scriptures which deal directly with disarmament to help paint a better picture of how we ought to think about disarmament.
