Sam is a Discrimination Lawyer who lives in Naarm (Melbourne), is a self-confessed tea connoisseur, and loves gardening. Throughout his life, he's also been a radio producer, political adviser and lawyer. Sam is also an ambassador for IncludeAbility, "an initiative of the Australian Human Rights Commission (the Commission) developed to increase meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability, and to close the gap in workforce participation between people with disability and people without disability."Throughout COVID lockdowns, Sam became a fan of Nordic and Korean cinema. For this episode of ReFramed, Sam chose to review 'Everybody Hates Johan' - "a comedy about Johan Grande's adventurous life, and his long-lasting battle to win over the love of his life, Solvor, who he accidentally blew up a bit in his teens."The film includes disability representation, through the character Solvor. Follow along with our final episode of Season 2, to find out more and get our take on the film.

She's also a disability advocate with an emphasis on social inclusion. Emily recently joined the Attitude Foundation Board of Directors, and we're so excited to have her on the podcast.Joined by Robyn Lambird & Jason Clymo, the trio review 'Switched At Birth'. The series ran from 2011 - 2017 on ABC Family, and  revolves around two teenagers who were switched at birth and grew up in very different environments: one in an affluent suburb, and the other in a working-class neighbourhood. One of the main characters, Daphne, is Deaf - and 'Switched At Birth' has been both praised and critiqued for its portrayal of disability. According to ABC Family, it is "the first mainstream television series to have multiple deaf and hard-of-hearing series regulars and scenes shot entirely in American Sign Language (ASL)"Tune in to find out more and get our take on 'Switched At Birth'.

This week's episode is a GOODIE!Robyn Lambird & Jason Clymo are joined by the incredible Anja Christoffersen, to review 'Heartbreak High' (2022).Anja is a disability advocate and social entrepreneur. The fabulous Luke Christian joins us on this week's episode of ReFramed! Luke is a brilliant activist and business owner of Deaf Identity - a clothing brand that was born out of his love for fashion whilst raising Deaf awareness.Joined by Steph and Jason, Luke helps us review the 2022 reboot of 'Queer as Folk', which features a number of disabled actors - including Ryan O'Connell, Nyle Dimarco and Andrew Gurza. This episode is a celebration of every queer disabled person who has been yearning for better representation on screen.

Meet Michelle Roger on this week's episode of ReFramed! Michelle is a writer, artist, photographer and model who is passionately pushing for better representation of people with disability in those industries. She has also been using her platform on social media to run a project called "Up and Dressed", which explores fashion and disability. Joined by Steph and Jason, Michelle helps us analyse the show 'The L Word Gen Q', which features Jillian Mercado. The show is a sequel series to 'The L Word' which aired from 2004 to 2009 and amassed a huge fan base. Similar to its predecessor, this series follows the lives of a queer group of friends who live in Los Angeles, California.Here at ReFramed, we absolutely LOVE Jillian Mercado - and we think you'll love this episode!

This week, we welcome the incredible Senator Jordon Steele-John to the podcast!Jordon is a Greens Senator for Western Australia, and a passionate disability advocate that is working to implement policies that will create a more inclusive and accessible Australia. Joined by Steph and Jason, Jordon helps us analyse the film 'Run', starring Kiera Allen and Sarah Paulson. The film follows Chloe (played by Kiera Allen) as her relationship with her mother (played by Sarah Paulson) unravels, and she attempts to escape the home she's literally trapped in.You don't want to miss this episode!

Akii brings a range of lived experiences to this episode, and an interesting take on 'Love and Other Drugs'. The 2010 film stars Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal, with the former acting as a young woman with Parkinson's.

This week we welcome the incredible Nina Tame to ReFramed. Nina is a writer, content creator and disability advocate who uses social media to break down misconceptions about disability. Her educational and hilarious content shines a light on ableism, representation, parenting children with disability, and everything in between. Nina joins us this week to help analyse Finding Nemo - a 2003 Disney film, which has been a family favourite for the past 20 years. Tune in to find out more about Nina, and learn about what she thought of Finding Nemo!

This week, we have the incredible Angel Dixon on with us to help analyse 'Raising Dion' - a Netflix series that follows a boy who develops some serious super powers.Angel joins us with a range of knowledge and experience in the field of representation and inclusion. She has worked tirelessly to effect change in fashion, on screen and beyond. The film follows a young girl who is displaced early in the film, and ends up living with her uncle. Here she finds a garden, friends, and a cousin - Colin, a wheelchair user who spends all his time in bed.Join us as we discuss this very interesting (and mostly terrible) portrayal of disability!

This week, we have the incredible K Shantel join us to discuss one of Marvel's newest films, Eternals.Eternals follows an ancient group of superheroes, who are tasked with destroying their evil counterparts - The Deviants. As always, there's a few twists and turns - and the film seemingly sets up a new set of films in the MCU. We discuss Eternals because one of the main superheroes - Makkari - is Deaf and is played by Deaf actress, Lauren Ridloff. Follow along with this episode to find out what Jason, Steph & K Shantel thought of the disability representation in Eternals.
