David once grew a business to tens of millions of dollars in profitable revenue, and he did it one sale at a time through online ads and affiliate marketing. In this episode he tells the origin story, how it unfolded, and what he learned. A lot of entrepreneurs just think about selling their business once it reaches a certain revenue or profitability threshold. While that's important, there is oftentimes an even bigger requirement standing in the way of their ability to sell the company, and this episode we explain what that is and what to do about it! As always, feel free to send in your questions to podcast@bossclub.com to possibly be featured on the show. Want to launch and grow your first business? In this episode the guys look back on the businesses that were self-funded versus fundraised. There are real pros and cons to both scenarios, but before you compare your bootstrapped startup to the other startups that tout their press releases showing the money they've raised, it's worth understanding that raising money isn't always what it's cracked up to be. In this humorous but honest episode, Charlie and David explain why.As always, feel free to send in your questions to podcast@bossclub.com to possibly be featured on the show. Want to launch and grow your first business? There are tons of pros and cons of being an entrepreneur vs. being an employee, and everyone is going to have their own preferences in that debate. But once Charlie realized two things about corporate America, it convinced him to take the plunge into entrepreneurship full-time and he's never looked back. As always, feel free to send in your questions to podcast@bossclub.com to possibly be featured on the show. Want to launch and grow your first business? Charlie and David look back on all of the different businesses they've started and discuss the four different businesses they would choose to start if they were in middle or high school today. They picked these because they fit the criteria described in Episode 4, as well as the fact that they could make high-margin profit relatively quickly. Tired of going to the post office to ship your products every time you get an online order? Eventually you might grow to the size where you can actually have another company store your inventory and fulfill (i.e. ship) your orders FOR YOU! You can find someone to produce just about ANYTHING for you. If you are looking to find a manufacturer for your product, this episode will give you some great guidelines on how to do that and what that might entail. One of the biggest lessons here is that since you can build anything, you need to spend the majority of your time spent on figuring out how to sell the product or service. Too many entrepreneurs fail because they only focused on their product and not the entire business. The content in this episode was a HUGE lightbulb moment for Charlie earlier in his entrepreneurial journey. From this episode you can learn it much earlier than he did! As always, feel free to send in your questions to podcast@bossclub.com to possibly be featured on the show. Want to launch and grow your first business? How do the best chefs in town make a restaurant and it usually fails? Why can doctors start their own practice or medical device company and it fail? In today's episode, Charlie and David will teach you how to "think like an architect" when it comes to your business. As entrepreneurs we can be so product-focused and forget that all areas of our business have to cohesively come together. It's not just about creating a product that can sell, it's about making a company that can thrive, and those are two very different things. This is a critical mindset shift that you need to make if you want your business to be successful. We hope this discussion helps you in your entrepreneurial journey! As always, feel free to send in your questions to podcast@bossclub.com to possibly be featured on the show. Want to launch and grow your first business? This is a HUGELY important mindset to build as an entrepreneur. Building your business is like building a 10,000 square foot house completely by yourself. It is going to take time and will be the collection of many mini-projects that ultimately come together as a finished house. It's so important to get comfortable with working hard while being patient, and in this episode we discuss what that's like. This episode is a highly valuable use of 10 minutes in your entrepreneurial journey! As always, feel free to send in your questions to podcast@bossclub.com to possibly be featured on the show. Want to launch and grow your first business? In today's episode we want to share a mental exercise we do on a regular basis that revolves around figuring out how to grow your business by 10x. Sometimes we think about how to just grow incrementally, but to really grow by leaps and bounds we might have to get uncomfortable a bit and push our assumptions in terms of how we can grow by an order of magnitude. Point 1: The 10x ChallengePoint 2: Top-down vs. bottom-up approachPoint 3: What to do nextAs always, feel free to send in your questions to podcast@bossclub.com to possibly be featured on the show. Want to launch and grow your first business? Finding affiliates to promote your products and services is one of the best and quickest ways to grow your business. It's like having a massive sales force that is on a commission-only basis, meaning you only pay them when they generate sales.
