Osei-Wusu, FACC, FSCAI.  Dr. Osei-Wusu is committed to improving the health of global communities as a clinician, advocate, and drug developer, reflective of her core principles of health, service, and global citizenry. A Maryland native (by way of Ghana), and graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, she received her specialty training in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center and the Baltimore Veteran’s Administration Hospital. She subsequently completed additional subspecialty training in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Her clinical and research interests have included coronary interventions, invasive hemodynamic assessment of heart failure and valvular heart disease, non-invasive cardiology (with particular attention to risk factor modification for cardiovascular disease prevention), and the evaluation and management of cardiovascular diseases in women and minorities, as well as understudied and underserved populations. A creative who has a passion for artistic expression, Dr. Osei-Wusu has spent many years as a professional dancer, has a lifelong interest in the culinary arts, and is a self-professed plant-based foodie whose vegan journey began in 1997. She also continues to expand her skills as a fashion designer and sewist, focused on women’s apparel and accessories.
