"You don't have to be great to get started, but you must get started to ever become great."   -  Johnnie Williams III  - In this first official episode of The Think About It...podcast, the host Johnnie Williams discusses the importance of taking a chance in life. This episode focused upon the thought:"You don't have to be great to get started, but you must get started to ever become great." - Johnnie William III What have you become great at?What is holding you back from becoming great? What do you believe you could be or could've been great at ?Support the show
"My dreams flourish at night, then fade in the reality of the daylight, so now I allow myself time to daydream."  - Johnnie Williams III -This thought was the most accurate portrayal of how I have operated for years and years. I believe our minds are like 3D printers that can actually manifest nearly anything into existence. But, this personal power often produces more destructive or chaotic realities for good people that have forgotten that they have forgot. Unfortunately, so many of our dreams and visions fade as we open our eyes each mourning, which serves as the death of ideas that might have set us free.It is in the dream state that our thoughts are FREE, until we re-awaken back into this assimilation we call life. So my day dreams serve as a way for me to tap back into this creativity which aids the alchemic ability to change anything bad to good. I am a Pisces, born on 3/15/72 (the Ides of March). I have always been a dreamer, but I have worked hard to place frameworks around my concepts and constructs that support their implementation. Some have said that we process nearly 60-80,000 thoughts per day, which reflects our inner abundance or poverty based upon their vibrational frequency. My ideas seem endless and even limitless at times and that has drawn my attention to the work of Nikola Tesla and his 369 philosophy. The abundance of energy that can be accessed is just like the creative thoughts that we can tap into as well. But, on one of my moments #caughtINthought I realized that my birthdate summed to 369:March = 315th Day (1+5) = 672nd Year (7+2) = 9or you can just take the month (3) and add it to the sum of the 15th day (6) and it = 9Why do I share this with YOU? Because, when I was chastised for day-thinking to often as a child; no one knew that I was pondering the American Dream concept. What I saw, that I hope you see is the "I CAN" nestled within the word American. This was very liberating for me as a young Afr(ican) Amer(ican). Seeing that  I can... 2 times within my racial classification was very empowering. So, the historical narrative often discussed in His-Story class no longer shackled my mind or mindset to low vibrational thoughts of shame and lack. And, that was the beginning of the creation of the Johnnie E. Williams, I have become. Please consider subscribing to my podcast and helping to pollinate the positive message by sharing it with at least 1 person. I hope to see you in The Thought Tribe sharing your opinions and aiding the dialogue.Support the show
"Today I took my own advice, and it worked! You should try listening to your inner voice more often." - Johnnie Williams III -I have often told students and coaching clients to write down the ideas and thoughts that come while #caughtinthought - but I didn't always do what I was suggesting. So, as this thought came to mind, I decided (8 years ago) to begin writing down all the crafty and insightful phrases and thoughts as they would come. And they would come to me at the oddest times which often required that I quickly text myself so that I wouldn't forget them. And, this went on for some time.Wondering what I should do with them, I sat and thought about the advice I'd give to  someone else in a similar situation; and then it came to me that I should create a @JohnnieTalks Twitter account for my thoughts. At the time, I only had about 13 thought provoking phrases, but that has now grown into more than 1,111 of my own (original) statements under the brand Think About It... Something inside of me suggested that I write my thoughts down - then I felt it might be wise to post them for others to see. Now you can see where a simple thought (here and there) has taken me, and how a brand has emerged from this one decision.- I believe that we all have this deep inner knowing that often gets ignored because we seek others advice which might indicate - we are lacking confidence in our own innerstanding (an understanding). - Sometimes we seek validation for our thoughts and ideas from those we know, trust and follow.- What I have found for myself is that I often knew what was best for me - or what I should do (all along).- First, you must identify YOUR voice from amongst all the outer noise in the background, which is filled with distractions.- I used to always say to myself... "The little birdie in my ear was right, and tried to warn me." But, too often failed to listen to my own discernment and inner wisdom, and suggest that you not fail to follow your own higher self. The key word from this post that I want YOU to focus upon is beLIEve. For what you believe is what you get. I believed that my simple thoughts would become something one day and here they are, bringing you and other Thought Tribe members to this very blog. But, early on I mismanaged my BELIEFS by thinking that my first book of thoughts was not good enough to publish, because family and friends didn't read or offer feedback on the completed manuscript. So this gem sat on the shelf for 7 yrs until 2020, when so many of us found ourselves soul searching during the great shutdown. It was my own thoughts that held me together and inspired me to pivot back to my writing, since my public speaking career had suddenly slammed on brakes.3 bits of advice that I have come up with for mySELF to follow are:1) Finish what you start (this blog is included in that).2) Mind your mind; meaning your mental health and inner dialogue or SELF talk.3) Think prior to doing anything, because that act of just doing without thinking is base more in subconscious programming that might be hardwired to direct you straight into a past problem. We'd like to say that it is our intention to create a Thought Tribe where YOU and others can feel safe to express varying viewpoints respectfully. We promise to celebrate your unique perspectives.Support the show

005 - The Truth Hurts

“Silence allows me to coexist with anyone, but communication allows for a meaningful relationship to grow.” - Johnnie Williams III -  To be open and honest with the Tribe… this theme and thought take me back to my frustrations with a past relationship. I wasn’t frustrated because love was lacking. I was upset because our lack of communication prohibited a deeper connection from growing, and silence allowed for years of co-existence.The truth was:-I’d never get back the time and I hoped that time would somehow fix what was wrong.-I felt very alone inside of my beautiful home - shared with others.-I eventually had to let go because we weren’t a good fit for a lifetime commitment. It hurt when I finally faced the truth (initially), but I am here today – happy as can be. I’m blessed with the most amazing partner for me in taleenSofee.com . I received this advice and it helped during my transition. It was to be respectful, but understand that I was not responsible for how others might struggle with my truth. The key word to focus on from this thought is [silence]. It has a purpose and should be used wisely, but it does not fix anything and often reveals that something could be wrong. We find ourselves in a very noisy world that appears in some ways to be getting even worse. But some of our societal issues exist because of the silence. A lot of good people sitting back and watching as time passes, failing to step forward and step up to say something. We need to speak our truth (respectfully)We need to except the truth even when it’s uglyWe need to tell the truth and stop living the lies “The truth hurts a lot less when you decide to set it free…” - Johnnie WilliamsAsk Yourself:Why does the truth hurt?Who will your true hurt the most?Do we even seek the truth anymore?Be sure to leave me a message to share your thoughts or ask a question by calling (315)THOUGHT... "Your teachers can help you find an answer... But only your heart can help you find a purpose." Johnnie Williams IIII can remember (long ago) being asked by a young boy from Detroit, Michigan...Why are you here? Can we really trust you?Or - are you going to leave and not come back too?His heartfelt question activated the passion in me and touched my heart, as this moment offered me the opportunity to embrace my purpose. And, I am still working from those three questions to this day. I still ask myself each of them prior to delving into any new endeavors that focus upon service to others. The word to focus upon with this thought and theme is [Follow]. I would like to encourage you to wrap your mind around this moment and let your heart lead you to where you are challenged to step in or step up. I believe that in this moment, and on this day, my purpose is to be right where I am- writing this blog recap of The Think About It... podcast #6. But, 7 years ago my purpose was to just catch this thought and write it down so that (today) we can dialogue about its meaning. I strongly feel that our purpose for living is to LIVE, and our purpose evolves with the changing moments. So, the theme, Follow Your Purpose is suggesting that you grasp this moment to serve your SELF and others.Over the years my concept of purpose has broadened from thinking...- It had to be something huge.- It had to sound big to others.- It is no way that it can be something simple.I was left to figure out such a deep concept on my own. And, many of the dictionary definitions of the word offer vague analogies to illuminate such a powerful concept. So maybe you should define it for yourself, and operate from that definition. Here's my definition:P  present moments wrapped inU  unique opportunities to serve aR  role ofP  prominence inO  ourS  society - that supportsE  evolution individually and collectively3 Questions I'd like to ask you:1) What is your heart telling you to do with your life?2) What will you do to provide yourself the time to find your answer?3) And, once you have found it- what will be your next step?Thank you again for taking the time to read my podcast comments and be inspired to download the Think About It... daily thought app on either Apple or Android devices.  Visit JohnnieWilliams.com for more information or call (315) THOUGHT to ask a question or leave a message.Support the show
"We all make mistakes; I'd just make sure they're new ones." Johnnie Williams IIIWhen you become consciously aware of how unaware YOU have been, you will recognize that many mistakes that are repeated are rooted in subconscious habits... And, (5) common mistakes we often make:1) Speaking without thinking2) Repeating negative self-affirmations3) Saying yes when we need to say "NO"4) Spending money that we don't have yet or anymore5) Failing to value the most invaluable people in our livesWe can (actually) fail forward when we learn from our mistakes and then fail to repeat them over and over again. So remember that, "None of us can outrun our past mistakes, nor catch our future of possibilities; so pace yourself with the flow of this TODAY." - JW Time is a man-made concept that I see as one of our most creative - creations. And, it is my greatest resource, and this weeks word to focus upon. Stop wasting it, so you can get paid for it; because none of us can pause it. When we watch our ACTIONS and manage our reACTIONS, we stand to benefit from (potential) monetary transACTIONS.Ask Yourself:- What is your most recent mistake that had consequences?- How will you handle the situation the next time around?- Who can you save from making it?One of the best ways that I have found for passing along the wisdom gained from my many mistakes is to offer engaging lectures that inform others and publish books that get the tribe in the habit of thinking. "Life is a lot like an airline flight... You can only carry along light baggage and you must pay extra for an upgraded seat." Johnnie Williams I believe that we all carry different types of baggage, but there is a price to pay when taking it onto a plane and for carrying it along in life. We will (either) pay a toll in our health or in the accumulating costs of various coping methods that offer illusions of escape or relief. So many of us take our issues right along with us wherever we go, or are going. We allow yesterday to rain down, despite today's sunshine. We have got to STOP doing this or allowing others to do it to us. ENJOY = inner JOY and the JOURNEY has JOY within it [ JOY ]   Think About It...Who takes it from youWhat is it to youWhere can you find itWhen did you lose itWhy can't you keep itHow can you restore itDon't rob yourself of your own joy, trying to decipher whether your glass is half empty or half full. Celebrate the fact that there's something in the cup!!! And, whether you're carrying a wallet or purse full of issues, remember that it's not about what JOY awaits you, but the joy that is presently around you to access right now. So ask yourself:- What issue are you carrying around that is weighing you down?- How can you unpack or unload some of your emotional weight?- And, how will this pay off for you?Rest In power my friend...  Keenan "Coach K" Coleman Visit JohnnieWilliams.com for more information or call (315) THOUGHT to ask a question or leave a message.Support the show
009 - Watch Your Mouth

009 - Watch Your Mouth

2021-11-2922:11

“How is it that so many conversations invite truth, then make the person arriving with it feel so unwelcome?” Johnnie Williams IIIThis theme and Thought are a simple and powerful:Suggestion - Watch your mouth…. Because your words and thoughts hold extreme power.Question - Why is a truth often unwelcomed? Is it because the lie may contain some benefits?Let’s make this quote and theme relevant to our current times…."Watch Your Mouth Johnnie Williams"or the social platforms we have come to utilize and trust will take down your content or maybe demonetize your pages. And, when we finally get some thought stirring information through the AI defense system, the responses go cold – the phone lines go silent – and the email inbox remains empty. This leaves me with the question…Who really wants to truth?Let's focus on TRUTH  or The Real U (or universe) That’s Hidden.Accept ItTell ItFind ItSpeak ItThe thought and theme go together like a right and left hand. On one hand you must watch what you say to yourself or about yourself - because - you’ll be right! On the other hand you need to beware or be aware of what you share; and with who- you share your truth -or- the truth with. They may not want it!!!So many of us rely upon mass media as our go to source for truth. But what makes this very interesting and concerning to me, is the etymology and roots of origin for the word media and its plural designation as medium (The intervening substance through which impressions are conveyed to the senses or force acts on objects at a distance.). Are we the objects? Are we being silenced by those pushing a solo media narrative?I invite you to checkout my 'Welcome to Jumanji...' video on Youtube. “Inspiring others to help others is my strategic plan for changing this crazy world. It all adds up… 1+1+1 = change”.   - Johnnie Williams IIIThis quote was created to remind us all that change will require we add up all of our efforts to equate to a necessary shift. Because we are the problem that needs solving...and we are the solution for solving the (present) problem. The theme and quote are an interesting combination about relational collaborations and change. As we could not pick our parental partners, nor our family partners neither, so picking good partners should go without saying. But here I am saying it! Think about the type of PEOPLE you need around you - because:People EmpowerOrPeopleLimitEach OtherSo, it's time that you DEFINE what does a better world look like to you. Start by REFINING the things you say or do to improve the world, helping to make it better. But, you must ALIGN with a tribe of people that have a similar vision as you, and RESIGN from any dysfunctional partnerships that'll keep you from growing and moving forward. Watch out for the human parasites who:1) invade upon your time -2) draw upon your resources - and -3) determine or dictate your behavior.I would never pick a team of people to help me lose on the basketball court. But when lacking awareness in past — I am guilty of leaving the door to my inner circle unlocked. I proceeded into partnerships unguarded, thinking that I could ENCOURAGE the best out of anyone and that has proven to be wrong and has taken much time and patience to get things back right.I never stopped to ask mySELF:Who am I (really) looking for and why am I looking for them? How will they make it onto my team and what will they contribute as a teammate? When (and why) will I remove them from my team?I am forever an optimist that remains rooted in reality and grounded by the gravity of what is… But I think in order for the people to see a better world, we must partner with one another and work at it and on it together. “You should only live life looking forward… Because, looking back at yesterday while experiencing today is backwards living.” - Johnnie Williams IIIIt sounds obvious – so why am I saying or suggesting to live while living? Are you living fully? Are you existing barely? Are you truly alive? Are you holding your breath? Are you in a state of fear? Are you surviving till the weekend? We need to take our minds out of reverse and drive forward…beyond the speed bumps and fender benders of our past. This is why the clock ticks forward… It’s suggesting the most logical direction and clear suggestion for us to follow. So, keep going and keep growing. This episode's theme is a reminder that we have all come from nowhere and now find ourselves now here so we should live fully before returning back to nowhere from which we have come. Just think of how unnatural it is for us to live out our today’s crippled by the experiences of yesterday. It’s like drinking yesterday’s coffee, or a flat soda. Somethings are just better experienced fresh – just like today! However, there is science that supports why we struggle with this:95% of our day is managed by our subconscious mind and just 5% is spent conscious and creatively aware. Our minds our often fully programmed by the age of 7, which is why it’s been mentioned…“Give us your nations children till the age of seven and we will shape your entire society.” Now think:Seven days of creationSeven chakrasSeven hermetic principlesThis is a number representing completion. Therefore, there are seven action items I’d like to suggest you complete each day until it becomes habit (subconscious).1 - start the day with 7 deep breaths2 - while bathing or showering consider 7 things you’re grateful for3 - drink 7 cups of pure water4 - hug at least one person for 7 seconds5 - take a walk (move around for more than 7 minutes)6 - call or message a loved one who brings you joy7 - end the day with 7 deep breaths (release it and prepare to welcome new today)ASK YOURSELF:What have you been through that hijacks your attention? What reminder can you create to remain focused on the present day and moment? “I’d rather fail at holding onto a bad relationship, then fail to let it go and be hurt by it.” - Johnnie Williams IIIWhich BATTLE do you feel justifies your engagement?the outer battles w/othersthe inner battles w/selfWe are often lured into battles over:Relationship issues, political differences, our children's issues, acts of disrespect, unmet desires, financial spending, family drama, lack of compromise, and misunderstandings with others. If you think about it…we are energy, and each battle robs us of that - that we truly are (which is energy). Who has time to fight their personal battles when there’s always an outer battle enticing us to engage our energy? So many of us struggle with holding onto the wrong relationships for too long and fail to let them go before getting hurt. This is often because we struggle with these 4 common influences:The peers we’ve allowed to negatively influence us and our decisions. The problems that we create for ourselves and/or inherit from others. The pressures we all struggle with to meet the challenges of life and/or the expectations of others. The pride that we apply in very dysfunctional ways that doesn’t benefit us; but rather opposes our forward progress.ASK YOURSELF:Was there a time that this was your experience? How did you come to the decision to finally let go? 013 - Keep It Simple

2021-12-1331:50

“Don’t fall for the illusion of wealth… Nice things represent the money we HAD, not the money we HAVE.” - Johnnie Williams IIIWhy is it so difficult to keep life simple? Maybe it’s because they (the industry) made the “look of wealth and success” available to consumers to purchase or finance. But this illusion we often craft and buy into, only make the wealthy-wealthier.It’s like chasing the wind; you’ll never catch up to it! Nor will you become rich by spending to look like you already are.Think About It…Wants and needs must be deciphered between because we’ve been CONditioned to want more and want it now. Maybe it was the television that is re-shaped our vision and perspective with programming that is grooming the American mind like a dull weapon that takes time to cut to the chase. One show at a time and one commercial at a time (too). We didn’t want a new washer and dryer until we saw them on the tell lies to our vision – Think About It…Do we really need it, or do we just really - really want it? And, for how long do we really want it (or them) once we’ve gotten it, or been with them? Our needs don’t change as fast as our once shift from one thing to the next. Maybe that’s why we always want to make more money, and maybe we just need to save more of what we already have.Something to Think About… Visit JohnnieWilliams.com for more information or call (315) THOUGHT to ask a question or leave a message.Support the show

2021-12-1730:18

“Forget about bringing something to the table… Today, winners are putting something on the plate.”  - Johnnie Williams IIIAsk yourself... Is it your time?Ask yourself... Is this going to be your year?I want you to win – but not at the expense of someone else having to lose. We all win each and every time one of us improves something about ourselves (our inner selves - that is). The outer more cosmetic changes only serve to change perspective, but not the overall collective frequency for which and of which we all contribute. So… It’s time to win! This week's thought (see quote) invites you to do more than just show up to the workforce promoting your intelligence or the fact that you might be smart. Rather, it is suggesting that you become a creator of something that is tangible and the necessary. Can you create a product, or a program? Better yet, how about generating more profit for yourself or your business, or someone else’s company for whom you work for.Today, winning is requiring a lot more than just basic knowledge and education. Winners are the folks that are able to apply what all they know and quickly gain new skills that can be applied to continuously add value.Have you been preparing yourself for this moment? “People don’t fall in love; they fall in action – and that love will fade as your actions turn to in-action.” - Johnnie Williams IIIWe must work for it… (Love that is) Some of the ways in which I try to display L.O.V.E. is to:L. listen to themO. offer my respectV. value who they areE. encourage they growThere are no shortcuts to the real thing with the right one for you. So, stop rushing an emotion that requires time and experiences. Love is not what it’s often portrayed as… It might be cultivated in the good times, but it truly reveals its presence in the not so good times. The problem may be that most of us have love activation habits – but not the type of habits to sustain the love we've generated by our initial actions. Many of us were never taught about the five love languages and without this knowledge we head out into the world of relationships seeking what we clearly cannot define for ourselves. For love does it make one hole, but often reveals the holes that one is safe to reveal. With awareness, of how you give love and wish to receive it back will serve you very well in the long run. And, to truly wrap your hand around someone you love you need not only focus on their love language a preference nor your own; you must deliver love in each of the five ways.  The truest testament of one’s love is the labor of efforts to improve in areas where were the weakest. The Five LOVE Languages:Words of affirmationQuality timeActs of serviceGiftsPhysical touch Visit JohnnieWilliams.com for more information or call (315) THOUGHT to ask a question or leave a message.Support the show

“None of us can outrun our past, nor can any of us catch the future. I suggest pacing yourself with the flow of today.” - Johnnie Williams IIIThis quote was crafted to spare you the time I have wasted toiling over a painful past that my thoughts, findings, and opinions can do nothing about. And as a visionary, I have squandered so many moments on the thought of future possibilities.Do you know how beneficial it’ll be for you to take some deep breaths each day? When you’re feeling stressed – or getting frustrated with life or others… Taking a breath will never fail you – but just might save you or maybe a relationship. Think about it… Life begins and ends with it, so there is power in this simple exercise of self-regulation. I know that yesterday can be addictive and tomorrow quite mesmerizing, but we only catch the flow in the present moment. So don’t miss your opportunity. Why do we love our past so much? And… How is it the future offers us so much hope? Maybe the fact that many believe our future is shaped by it… the past that is. But I find that to be untrue. You might respectfully disagree, but I believe that we live in, and exist in a vacuum comprised of only (right) now. So, all there is- is the present that’s often wasted on reliving our past or looking beyond our present. “I’ve learned that being right has never done anything for my relationships but getting it right has done everything for them.”  -Johnnie Williams IIII was often told to work it out as I was growing up. Whether it be sibling issues, homework equations I needed help with, fights with friends, co-worker disagreements, or life challenges. Are you getting it all wrong trying to be right? (Y/N)Play with this analogy I’ve demonstrated on many stages:Stand across from another person, with both of you facing the other. Then, each of you point towards your right and see what happens. You’re both right!Yet, you both pointed to the others left; demonstrating that both of you can be right and wrong at the same time. Maybe we need to be more accepting of different perspectives and focus more on finding a common ground while sharing common goals.ASK YOURSELF:when was the last time you thought to be the one that was right – even if you were wrong? Was there ever a time you felt you want the argument – but it cost you the relationship? (if yes… was it worth it?) Visit JohnnieWilliams.com for more information or call (315) THOUGHT to ask a question or leave a message.Support the show

"Energy wasted on worry has never solved a problem; identify your solutions and invest energy there." - Johnnie Williams IIISome say FEAR is false evidence appearing real, while others feel it is future events artificially realized. But, I feel that FEAR is rooted in:- Family/Friend engagements- Enemies we now need to confront- Addictions that we use to avoid or cope- Reality that we cannot escape and must acceptIn this podcast episode I share a common scenario of the monster in the closet that introduces my new word that replaces - the phrases of FEAR - like I'm scared... or I'm afraid for you... and please Be careful...  These are just moments that cause us CONCERN. We can address our concerns, but it's difficult to deal with and grapple with the illusion that fear actually is.Fear is a waste of vital energy and life force, and all for false evidence appearing real. I THINK what concerns most of us - is the unknown to come, that might or might not happen. I would like to suggest you address worries when they actually cause (actual) PAIN, and you can identify the PROBLEM. That's when it'd be wise to construct a PLAN that lays out a PROCESS for you to PROFIT from the life experience.Did you know that scientist have found that our bodies function best when operating above 19htz of energy? But, while studying the impacts of different states of emotion (energy in motion), they found that FEAR lowers us to just 4htz. That is some cause for serious concern.ASK YOURSELF:1) What is something that has been worrying you or generates fear?2) Have you found that worrying works for you, and is justified?3) Have you downloaded the Think About It... app on your Apple or Android 4) Have you joined the TRIBE at TheThoughtTribe.com ?  Visit JohnnieWilliams.com for more information or call (315) THOUGHT to ask a question or leave a message.Support the show
