Description

William Davis, MD, cardiologist and author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Wheat Belly books, as well as Undoctored and, most recently, Super Gut, brings the unvarnished truth about many health conditions. So much information in health is crafted by industry, bent to the benefit of healthcare systems, delivered by willfully ignorant physicians. Yet a critical mass of truly useful, safe, effective health information has been reached--but someone has to deliver it to you. That is Dr. Davis' intention. Among the topics the Defiant Health Podcast covers are:--Microbiome health--The key to so many health conditions, as well as preservation of youth and vigor, can be found in the microbiome.--Heart health--You will find no mention of cholesterol or statin drugs here, only hard-hitting, science-based insights.--Thyroid health--Why do endocrinologists and other doctors get thyroid health so wrong? Let's get it right.--Weight loss--We don't count calories, don't push the plate away, or echo other ineffective knuckle headed solutions that have created the most overweight population of humans in history.--How to get rid of type 2 diabetes--it's painfully easy. --Get on the road to reversing autoimmune diseases--Take steps today to prevent neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's dementia, Parkinsonism, and multiple sclerosis--And many others. For more information on Dr. Davis' insights and programs, seeWheat Belly books--esp. the Wheat Belly Revised & Expanded Edition, 2019Wheat Belly 30-Minute CookbookWheat Belly 10-Day Grain DetoxUndoctored: Why Health Care Has Failed You and How You Can Become Smarter Than Your DoctorWheat Belly Blog: www.wheatbellyblog.comTalk to me through my membership website, the Undoctored Inner Circle:InnerCircle.Undoctored.com

Cancer is, of course, something we all fear, a collection of diseases that strike us down unexpectedly and often put us at the mercy of a deeply flawed and exploitative medical system. So it can help to identify the factors that leads us down this path and take action to minimize such risks. We don’t smoke cigarettes, we try to consume organic foods whenever possible to minimize the carcinogenic effects of herbicides and pesticides, we avoid getting sunburned—advice you are all likely familiar with. But the microbiome is proving to be an exceptionally powerful factor in causing or preventing cancer, in some unexpected ways. For instance, it has become clear that many instances of colon cancer get their start in the mouth. It is also becoming clear that numerous forms of cancer, from breast cancer to prostate cancer, originate with the composition of microbes in the gastrointestinal tract. It is the one common thread among many forms of cancer. This single insight has the potential to give you enormous control over your lifetime risk for these diseases. So, in this episode of Defiant Health, let’s consider these cancer-related issues of the microbiome. It is, admittedly, a conversation that is just getting started with many more lessons to learn. But gain an awareness of these microbiome-related issues and you can take concrete steps to address these risks. ___________________________________________________________________For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go here.Support the showBooks: Super Gut: The 4-Week Plan to Reprogram Your Microbiome, Restore Health, and Lose Weight Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight and Find Your Path Back to Health; revised & expanded ed
There are a great many emerging ideas to discuss, but sometimes these topics are just not big enough to fill out an entire podcast episode. So I decided to start something I call “Potpourri,” a collection of unconnected but interesting topics that may be helpful in guiding you in your health journey. I’d like to say “Ask your doctor about these issues,” but you and I know that they will, more than likely, know absolutely nothing about these questions because 1) it’s not a pharmaceutical or procedure, and 2) it will make no money for them. But just because your doctor is indifferent or ignorant does not mean that they don’t pack a wallop of potential health benefits for you. So in this episode of the Defiant Health Podcast, I’d like to talk about hyaluronic acid, the sweetener allulose, and the relationship of Lactobacillus reuteri and reproductive health.___________________________________________________________________For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go Better Animal HandlingWeekly 10 to 20 minute lessons in handling of dogs, horses, and other animals.Listen on: Apple Podcasts   SpotifyAsk a FarmerAnswering questions about Canada's food systemListen on: Apple Podcasts   SpotifyThe 'Your Health. I recently had an experience in which I had to take an antibiotic. Those of you who have been following my Defiant Health podcast discussions, or have been reading my thousands of blog posts on DrDavisInfiniteHealth.com, or my books, especially my latest Super Gut book, know that I advocate for absolutely minimizing our reliance on antibiotics, as they are extremely destructive to the microbiome. Antibiotics disrupt microbial composition of the gastrointestinal tract, the airway, the sinuses, reproductive organs, urinary tract, and other body parts with serious potential long-term consequences. Well, I had a failed root canal and crown put in more than 30 years ago. It recently failed and I had the tooth extracted, following by insertion of an implant. Because the periodontist had to drill into the jawbone and insert an anchor for the implant, he prescribed an antibiotic to prevent osteomyelitis, or infection of the jawbone that can be catastrophic. I therefore spent weeks dreading this process as, in past, I’ve had some nasty experiences with antibiotics: GI distress, abdominal discomfort, skin rashes. But I was especially dreading the awful insomnia that I feared I’d experience with loss of the L. reuteri that I had been supplementing for several years that converted me from a severe chronic insomniac to a deep sleeper. To my great surprise, I experienced none of these effects and I wanted to share with you why and how I believe I, and my listeners who have engaged similar strategies, avoided these effects from antibiotics. It’s my n of one experience, along with some of my listeners, so it’s proof of nothing. But, because these concepts are evolving rapidly with very little formal evidence, it’s worth at least being aware and even trying some of these strategies.___________________________________________________________________For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go Better Animal HandlingWeekly 10 to 20 minute lessons in handling of dogs, horses, and other animals.Listen on: Apple Podcasts   The 'Your Health. It’s a concept that many people struggle to embrace or understand. But once you ‘get” it, a lot of issues in health will become clearer and you can save yourself a considerable amount of time, effort, and money. The idea is to get away from the idea of “treating” health conditions. This is the approach used in pharmaceuticals and employed by most doctors. If, for instance, blood glucose is high, drugs like insulin, metformin, or a GLP-1 agonist like Wegovy or Ozempic is introduced to force blood glucose down. If blood pressure is high, a drug such as a thiazide diuretic, beta blocker, or ACE inhibitor is prescribed to for blood pressure down. If there is an inflammatory or autoimmune condition, they pick a single inflammatory mediator and block it. But there are major drawbacks to approach health in this way that I will discuss in this episode of the Defiant Health podcast. Instead, I would like you to consider a completely different approach. Rather than try to improve some health measure with a pharmaceutical or even a medical procedure, I would suggest that we instead address and correct the common factors that allow such health conditions to emerge in the first place. I’ll explain what that means. But it means that this approach can not just reduce blood glucose or blood pressure or reverse many inflammatory or autoimmune conditions, but also result in weight loss, loss of abdominal fat, reduce inflammation, improve insulin resistance, restore youthful characteristics, smooth your skin, restore healthy musculature and provide other effects that yield benefits that go beyond the original issue. It is not uncommon, for example, to take this approach for, say, weight loss but find yourself no longer a type 2 diabetic or pre-diabetic, or no longer hypertensive, while enjoying relief from multiple forms of skin rashes, irritable bowel syndrome, fatty liver, anxiety or depression and hundreds of other conditions. So, in this episode of Defiant Health, let’s discuss this radically different approach to health. _____________________________________________________________________________For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go The 'Your Health. You likely know people who engage in strenuous exercise—a marathon, triathlon, long-distance biking, even just day-to-day exercise—or perhaps you do so yourself. In anticipation of the need for a great deal of energy to engage in such an effort and to increase endurance and performance, many people follow a practice called carb loading. While there are number of protocols for doing so, for most people carb loading typically consists of a large serving of pasta consumed the day before, followed by liberal consumption of sugary soft drinks and sugary energy bars, all designed to maximize liver and muscle glycogen stores that can be burned for energy. Is carb loading safe? Is it necessary? In this episode of Defiant Health, let’s discuss how and why carb loading is an unhealthy process with some effects that are irreversible. I’ll also discuss how you can maintain or increase performance without relying on this unhealthy practice.I also want you to consider supporting the sponsors of this Defiant Health podcast, Paleovalley and BiotiQuest. Choosing high-quality products to support your health journey is important. This is why Paleovalley is a supporter of my Defiant Health podcast. Their grass-fed pasture-raised beef sticks, for instance, are fermented, unlike nearly all other beef sticks. If you haven’t tried their pasture-raised pork sticks, you are in for a real treat, as they are irresistibly delicious. And BiotiQuest, also a sponsor of this podcast, provide unique probiotic products that, in my experience and the experience of the followers of my program, are unlike all other probiotics, as they are crafted using the scientific insights of academic microbiologist, Dr. Raul Cano, an innnovator in the concept of collaborative effects among microbes.  _____________________________________________________________________________For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go here.*Dr. Davis and his staff are financially compensated for promoting BiotiQuest and Paleovalley products.Support the showBooks: Super Gut: The 4-Week Plan to Reprogram Your Microbiome, Restore Health, and Lose Weight Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight and Find Your Path Back to Health; revised & expanded ed
Personally, I take no prescription medications. I do not take a statin drug to reduce cholesterol, nor baby aspirin. I take nothing for high blood pressure, acid reflux, or irritable bowel syndrome. I take nothing for headaches, pain, or sleep—not a single prescription medication.Yet my blood pressure is typically around 108/72. My triglycerides are 40 mg/dl, HDL cholesterol is 94 mg/dl, and I have zero small LDL particles. My fasting glucoses are in the 80s mg/dl, last HbA1c was 4.8%, my liver markers are all at the low normal range with no fatty liver suggested. In other words, I have perfect metabolic health without reliance on any medication. The majority of the followers of my programs likewise enjoy perfect metabolic health without reliance on any prescription medications. Of course, there are people who adopt the strategies of my program after incurring some form of irreversible damage such as permanent loss of pancreatic beta cells that result in type 1 diabetes, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis that results in impaired ability to produce thyroid hormones, or loss of stomach parietal cells that results in absence of stomach acid, hypochlorhydria. So key is to adopt these strategies before such permanent damage is done. People who have incurred such damage will therefore need to take insulin, thyroid hormones, or engage in efforts to acidify the stomach. But barring the development of such irreversible changes, the majority of us on my programs have no need for pharmaceutical medications. So, in this episode of Defiant Health let’s discuss how and why, by adopting just a handful of strategies, how you can enjoy perfect metabolic health with no reliance on prescription medications. This episode isn't just a narrative; it's an invitation to a revolution in health care, where the focus shifts from treating symptoms to nurturing the root causes of our ailments, empowering you to become the curator of your own health destiny._______________________________________________________________________________For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go here.*Dr.
If you have been following my discussions in this Defiant Health podcast or in my blog, DrDavisInfiniteHealth.com, or my Super Gut book, you know that I have been arguing that there is an epidemic of SIBO going on in the U.S., an epidemic involving every 1 in 2 people. It is an epidemic responsible for an astounding amount of health struggles. The more we all come to understand small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, or SIBO, the more you have to appreciate all the varied ways this situation can show itself. First of all, for those of you unfamiliar, what is SIBO? SIBO refers to the situation in which modern people, due to exposure to multiple courses of antibiotics and other disruptive factors, have lost hundreds of beneficial bacterial species in our colons. These beneficial species were responsible for suppressing the proliferation of unhealthy microbial species, mostly fecal microbial species such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Citrobacter. The loss of beneficial microbes allows unhealthy fecal species to proliferate, then ascend up from the colon where they originated and into the 24-feet of small intestine. The small intestine is poorly-equipped to deal with this invasion of fecal microbes. The small intestine is, by design, permeable, since that is where the bulk of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids are absorbed. But trillions of fecal microbes in the small intestine, microbes that live for only a few hours, live and die and release their toxic components that can gain access to the bloodstream. One of the primary toxic components is called endotoxin. When endotoxin enters the bloodstream, that’s called “endotoxemia” and endotoxemia is now recognized to be the primary way in which gastrointestinal microbes are able to exert effects tin every organ of the body. It means that SIBO and thereby endotoxemia can be experienced as a wide variety of health problems and diseases. So, in this episode of Defiant Health, let’s discuss whether this is a situation that applies to you or to someone close to you and what steps you can take to undo these harmful effects. For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go The 'Your Health. There are a handful of strategies that you can engage that slow the phenomena of aging, i.e., slow or stop the development of skin thinning and development of wrinkles, deterioration of joint health, so-called hardening of the arteries or atherosclerosis, reduction in hormonal status, loss of muscle, loss of bone density, etc. One issue that is rarely discussed is the process of glycation, i.e., glucose modification of proteins. Glycation is something you have enormous control over and thereby slow numerous phenomena of aging. You can reduce the likelihood, for instance, of developing cataracts, reduce the likelihood of thinning skin and age spots, reduce risk for cardiovascular disease, reduce potential for joint deterioration. It’s also something you can measure and track. So, in this episode of Defiant Health, let’s discuss how you can easily and effectively minimize the process of glycation and thereby take over this important aspect of aging. For BiotiQuest probiotics including Sugar Shift, go here.A 15% discount is available for Defiant Health podcast listeners by entering discount code UNDOC15 (case-sensitive) at checkout.*_________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here.* For 12% off every order of grass-fed and pasture-raised meats from Wild Pastures, go here.*Dr. Davis and his staff are financially compensated for promoting BiotiQuest and Paleovalley products.Support the Show.Books: Super Gut: The 4-Week Plan to Reprogram Your Microbiome, Restore Health, and Lose Weight Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight and Find Your Path Back to Health; revised & expanded ed

There are a variety of ways to lose weight: reduce calories, pharmaceuticals, bariatric procedures. But these are successful only in the beginning: You lose, say, 40 pounds over a year only to gain it all back. Of that 40 pounds, 10 pounds is muscle. And, when you gain it back, it is nearly all fat, very little muscle. You are now less healthy than you were at the start of your weight loss journey. And, if repeated, as with yo-yo dieting in which you lose, regain, then lose and regain again, your metabolic health gets worse and worse and, not only are you discouraged and demoralized, but you are also setting yourself up for some pretty serious health consequences including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and increased potential for cognitive decline and dementia. So let’s be smarter. Let’s not repeat the mistakes of conventional thinking in weight loss and let’s instead discuss 7 counterintuitive strategies that help you lose weight, not lose muscle, and thereby not regain the weight or regain the fat and thereby not only enjoy your new shape and body composition, but avoid all the health complications of the conventional path. Davis and his staff are financially compensated for promoting BiotiQuest and Paleovalley products. The 'Your Health. Cholesterol testing is among the most common blood tests run in conventional healthcare, yet it is a perennial source of confusion and, to be honest, abuse by doctors who don’t appreciate the full implications of the values. It may surprise you to know that doctors focus on the least helpful values such as total or LDL cholesterol while often ignoring the two genuinely helpful values, HDL cholesterol and triglycerides. HDL for instance is packed with useful insights into your health, as it is a reliable index of metabolic health. Low HDL, that I would define as less than 60 mg/dl, is a reflection of multiple health distortions such as insulin resistance, inflammation, excessive intra-abdominal fat, small LDL particles and VLDL that cause heart disease. You might also be surprised to learn that consuming fats only spikes triglyceride levels for a few hours, whereas the process of your liver converting carbohydrates to triglycerides can cause a much larger increase after six to eight hours or more. Discover the factors that can amplify this process, including insulin resistance, inflammation, excessive intra-abdominal fat, and even dysbiosis and small intestine bacterial overgrowth. The road to cardiovascular health doesn't have to be paved with cholesterol. We'll reveal how VLDL particles and triglyceride levels are intricately linked, why it's essential to keep your triglycerides below 60 milligrams per deciliter, and how higher triglycerides can result in lower HDL levels. Discover how simple dietary changes can lead to lower triglycerides and higher HDL levels, and why measuring LDL particles using NMR lipoprotein analysis offers a more accurate picture than the commonly used LDL cholesterol. Ready to uncover the intriguing connection between Parkinson's disease and the gastrointestinal microbiome? Join us as we explore this fascinating subject with data analytics specialist turned microbiome researcher, Martha Carlin. Martha brings us up to speed on her research endeavors, one of which includes the Bio Collective, a project that collected fecal samples from 1,000 participants, and her venture, BiotiQuest, that developed unique probiotics with collaborative microbial species. Some of you following my Defiant Health podcasts or my DrDavisInfiniteHealth.com website may already be familiar with Martha Carlin. For those of you not yet acquainted, Martha Carlin, formerly a data analytics specialist, turned all of her attentions to the microbiome when her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. She quickly learned that current medical treatments for this condition do not slow the progression of the disease from increasing disability and dementia; they only reduce some of the phenomena such as tremor or impaired gait. She therefore founded several organizations to better study both Parkinson’s disease and the gastrointestinal microbiome. As we venture deeper, we connect with Martha and Dr Raul Cano, founders of Biotiquest, to understand their innovative probiotic products designed to support various health aspects. Martha shares the results of their recent study, showing a significant shift in the microbiome and drop in serum lipopolysaccharide. In the captivating latter part of our conversation, we investigate the promising potential of probiotics and fasting in Parkinson's disease treatment. Martha and Raul share their patent news and discuss their probiotics' successful use to reduce endotoxemia and target abdominal visceral fat. We also examine the story of a man's remission of Parkinson's disease after a long fast, sparking a discussion on the potential of a 30-day fast experiment. By tuning in, you'll gain a wealth of insights into the evolving field of microbiome research and the impressive impacts of probiotics on our health.Full disclosure: BiotiQuest is a sponsor of this Defiant Health podcast. But the reason I asked Martha and BiotiQuest to be a sponsor is because their interests are aligned With my philosophy and scientific interests: we are both interested in giving people better tools for health, specifically better tools to manage the microbiome. Has your dinner ever declared war on your stomach? Imagine if you could decipher the secrets of your gut and take back control. Today, we're embarking on a fascinating journey through the complex world of food intolerances, exploring how changes in our diets and lifestyles may be contributing to this modern malady. From synthetic sweeteners to shifts in our gut microbiome, we'll investigate why this issue, once dismissed as psychological, is now taking center stage in medical conversations.Intolerances to foods has become a widespread problem, with approximately 20% of the population experiencing unpleasant symptoms with consumption of common foods such as eggs, beef, vegetables, even after many decades of consuming them without problems. Food intolerances are a uniquely modern phenomenon—your great grandmother would have no idea what you are talking about if you reported such intolerances. In some cases, food intolerances have reached absurd levels. People who undergo IgG food testing to identify an immune response to foods, for instance, are often given lists of 20, 30, or 40 common foods they cannot consume because they trigger an IgG antibody-driven immune response, an impossibly restrictive lifestyle. Something has therefore changed—but what? Could it be some change in food? Could it be some change in us? Get ready, folks, it's time to take responsibility for our health. In this episode of Defiant Health, let’s try to make sense out of this troublesome modern phenomenon.Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here. Monitoring blood glucose, or blood sugar, can be a useful tool in achieving a number of important health effects. You can apply it to accelerate weight loss, for instance, or accelerate the reversal of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, triglyceride blood levels, fatty liver, slow many of the phenomena of aging, and other effects. And you can achieve this by following what I call the blood glucose “No change rule,” meaning allowing no change in blood sugar from just prior to a meal to 30-60 minutes after the start of the meal. This is, of course, completely contrary to conventional thinking on how to use blood glucose measurement, nearly always used to assess your response to drugs that reduce blood sugar. In other words, people are told by doctors that the usefulness of blood glucose monitoring is to assess whether the drugs you’ve been given to reduce blood glucose are doing the job and controlling blood sugar. But that is NOT what we are talking about here. We are talking about how to put blood glucose monitoring to use to achieve significant health benefits. Revolutionize your health journey as we cast light on the "blood glucose no change rule." Imagine maintaining a stable blood sugar level from just before your meal to thirty minutes after, and the enormous health benefits that could unlock. Experience accelerated weight loss, reversal of type 2 diabetes, and a decline in high blood pressure. We also unravel how a simple blood glucose monitor, a device often sidelined, can become your secret weapon towards achieving your health goals.________________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone Broth Collagen, low-carb snack bars and other high-quality organic foods here. Our great grandmothers were usually knowledgeable and adept at fermenting foods, i.e., allowing microbes to grow on food, thereby keeping foods, such as vegetables, fruits, and meats, from spoiling while increasing the nutritional value of the food and providing you with beneficial probiotic microbes. They may not have appreciated these benefits, but surely at least knew that it was a useful method of preserving food without refrigeration. Modern processed foods, widespread availability of home refrigeration, and convenience caused most of us to abandon this practice. But it represents yet another mistake we’ve made in healthy eating, coupled with blundering dietary guidelines, exploitative practices, and ignorance or indifference of food manufacturers. Wife and mother, Donna Schwenk, struggled with health issues of her own and her family. Twenty two years ago, she stumbled on the idea of creating fermented vegetables. Adopting them into her lifestyle and that of her family, she witnessed transformations in health. Donna is a vocal advocate for the fermenting lifestyle and shares her wisdom in her culturedfoodlife.com website loaded with recipes and wisdom on how to put fermented foods to work to restore your emotional and physical health. In this episode of the Defiant Health podcast, Donna shares some of the most recent lessons she’s learned through her fermenting projects. Learn about the surprising role of fermented vegetables in alleviating symptoms of SIBO and Candida overgrowth, as Donna details her daily fermentation routine. Be prepared to have your mind blown as Donna reveals her remarkable remedy for food poisoning, and even the surprising health benefits her dog has experienced! Beyond personal anecdotes, we delve into the controversial health topics, illuminating why some major health organizations haven't updated their advice despite new evidence, and the importance of strength training as we age.Wrap up the episode by exploring the tantalizing world of homemade cheese. Hear her recount the incredible potential of probiotic yeast and the lasting health benefits her family has experienced from a diet rich in fermented vegetables. Whether you're a fermented foods enthusiast or just embarking on your journey, this episode promises to be packed with nuggets of wisdom and fascinating insights. Tune in to be inspired and empowered with the knowledge to transform your health through food. For more from Donna Schwenk: CulturedFoodLife.com with lots of recipes, informative discussions, and products available for purchase._________________________________________________________________________Get your 15% Paleovalley discount on fermented grass-fed beef sticks, Bone BroThe 'Your Health.
