The Oklahoma Department of Corrections has been dealing with a staffing shortage for some time. The DOC has tried several things, focusing on making the positions more attractive and retaining existing workers, but now they've got a new idea- lowering the minimum hiring age from 20 to 18 years old. 
Christmas is a big season for charities all over, so the question is, after increased need and increased giving last year, how is 2021's holiday season shaking out?
Back in February, OU Health's research center launched a 2 year program to study the effects on mental and physical health that social unrest and disproportionate impact from COVID had on black Oklahomans. Almost a year into the study, the preliminary data is already pointing toward some problems, and some solutions. 
The Oklahoma Supreme Court has ruled that the 2019 decision against opioid manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson, misused the state's Public Nuisance ordinance. The question then, is why? And whether the state will pursue payment of damages from the pharmaceutical through other means or charges.
As the state legislature prepares for special session to make decisions about redistricting, the way the proposed congressional map splits up Oklahoma County has become a hotly debated topic. Make sure to keep up with our continuing coverage as this once-a-decade story develops!
