And specifically we're going to be looking at the Ontario Provincial Nominee program or the Ontario PNP. it's interesting to me because one of the things that I hear time and time again is, "Monty, I need a job to emigrate to Canada. Well, obviously having a job does help. But in many situations, and in many circumstances, it's not necessary and you can immigrate to Canada without a job offer. And when most people think of emigrating to Canada, they think of the Express Entry System and the visas that granted on the back of that system ie Federal Skilled Worker Federal Skilled Trade, Canada Experience Class but they seem to overlook always the PNP the Provincial Nominee program.I think this myth really of having to need a job offer before one can immigrate to Canada on Express Entry is because express entry uses the comprehensive ranking system CRS, and during the CRS points are accumulated based on a number of different factors and for Express Entry these are called Human Capital factors. But essentially, in most cases, express entry candidates do not require a job offer, although having won does obviously result in a higher number of points. And therefore a better chance of being invited to apply for permanent residency. However, the PNP or Provincial Nominee program does things a little bit differently. The PNP was introduced to ensure a fairer or more balanced distribution of the benefits of immigration throughout the provinces, with each province given the autonomy to determine its own set of nomination requirements. So depending on your age, employment, the role that you do, the experience that you have, the qualifications that you hold, it may well be that you can fit better or easier into one particular province rather than the other. So you might be asking why I chose to focus on Ontario. The Ontario Provincial Nominee program is called the OINP, and you probably see a reference like this online and in the news, but essentially, Ontario gets about 1/3, so 33% of all newcomers in Canada arrive in Ontario as their first destination. And why is this? Why do people tend to head to Ontario as opposed to any other province? Well, really, it's got to be the employment opportunities, high wages and diverse population every time those three things come up, employment opportunities, high wages, diverse population. So how then do you emigrate to Canada, Ontario in this instance, without a job offer? Well, the first thing you need to do is make an application under what's something called the Ontario Express Entry, human capital priority stream. Now, as you can expect, the OINP priority scheme is limited to some very specific roles and jobs. So first of all, software engineers and designers, if you're currently a software engineer or designer, and you have the right skills, the right experience and the right qualifications, then Ontario is going to be a very interesting possibility for you. Support the show

Can I sponsor my spouse or partner for Canadian immigration? The answer is quite possibly "Yes". Because bringing families together, reuniting families is one of the main aims of Canada's entire immigration system. So here is how you can sponsor your loved one for Canadian permanent residency status. First up, who can actually sponsor? Who can who can actually act as the sponsor to bring people into Canada? Well, Canadian citizens obviously, but also permanent residents may sponsor their spouse, common law partner, or indeed boyfriend or girlfriend to obtain Canadian permanent residency. And it goes without saying that the Department of Immigration in Canada IRCC does recognize or same sex relationships the same way as heterosexual relationships. So next up, most people say to me, "Hey, Monty, what's the eligibility criteria for sponsors?" Well, the eligibility criteria to sponsor your spouse, common law partner, boyfriend girlfriend, is as follows:Quite simply, you must be 18 years old, you must either be a Canadian citizen, a Canadian permanent resident, you must be able to show that you can meet the financial needs of your sponsee or your loved one in Canada. You must demonstrate that you're not receiving social benefits or social assistance unless of course it's a disability benefit or disability assistance. If you're a Canadian citizen currently living overseas or abroad, not in Canada, you need to demonstrate that you intend to live in Canada with your partner as soon as they gain permanent residency.Permanent Residents looking to sponsor must actually reside in Canada at the time of submitting this sponsorship application. If you're a Canadian citizen, you could be based abroad when you make the application.Other questions I get are, "Monty, who can you actually sponsor?" And again, the answer is relatively straightforward. Sponsored individuals obviously have to be 18 years old, but fall into one of the following categories:They must either be your common law partner (not legally married to you, but they have been living with you for at least 12 consecutive months). They must either be your spouse or your conjugal partner (that your partner is not legally married to you but has been in a relationship with you for at least a year lives outside of Canada, but unable to marry you due to religious, legal or some other cultural obstacles). So how then does one submit a sponsorship application to the IRCC? Well, you need to submit two applications, the sponsorship application and a permanent residency application. And interestingly, the IRCC asks you to submit both of these applications together at the same time. Now, this is a guide to Canadian immigration for Iranians and we include topics such as visas, jobs, and relocate into Canada. So, how to immigrate to Canada from Iran? Well, I think there are many reasons why people want to immigrate to Canada from Iran, such as creating a better future for their families, good work life balance, furthering studies or maybe just to be in a larger economy more connected to the powerhouse of the United States with the career opportunities that that brings as well. Many Iranian citizens immigrate to Canada as the first stage, I think in their eventual immigration to the USA because with a Canadian passport, the new immigrant Canadian citizens are allowed to really choose whether to remain in Canada or to go through the process or at least start the process of living and working in the United States. When most people immigrate to Canada from Iran, they have deep family or personal reasons for moving. For some, it's a lifelong dream and for others, I think it's about space and quality of life. And it ties in greatly with Canadian immigration, which is going through probably a once in a lifetime opportunity, with the Canadian government announcing a critical need for a further 400,000 highly skilled migrants over the next 12 to 14 months. One of the questions that I get asked a lot is Hey, Monty, is it easy to immigrate to Canada from Iran? Well, the great thing about Canadian immigration and those looking to immigrate to Canada, is that Canada makes very little distinction between nationalities which when it comes to immigrating to Canada from Iran, both expats in Iran and Iranian citizens obviously treated in a similar manner. And whilst it's certainly not easy for an Iranian citizen to immigrate to Canada, it is slightly more easier than if you were to choose to immigrate to the United States, for example, how to immigrate out of Iran to Canada. Most clients thinking of immigrating from Iran to Canada have a more permanent move in mind with Canadian permanent residency as their aim. Canadian permanent residency allows Iranian holders of Canadian PR and their immediate families to live and work in Canada. enter and leave the country as often as they like without the need for any further visas, access medical care, access the Canadian education system for their children own property and businesses in Canada. But I think best of all, is the fact that Canadian permanent residency visas do convert into full Canadian citizenship. So what then are the main categories of Canada immigration from Iran? There are six main categories of Canadian immigration. Federal Skilled Worker, Quebec skilled worker, Provincial Nominee program, family sponsorship, business, immigrant and Canadian Experience Class.Each immigration class targets a different group of migrants and has its own unique set of requirements. And if you're looking at permanent residency straight off the bat  so federal skilled worker visa, Federal Skilled Trades provincial nomination, Canada Experience Class) the first stage is going to be making that all important Express Entry application. So express entry is a two step process is actually very, very simple. It's designed to be as straightforward as possible. It's designed for people to be able to make their own applications, especially at this stage and so there is no need for you to rush off and find a Canadian immigration agent or a migration lawyer. Parent Grandparent Income Requirementshttps://emigratecanada.com/pgp-income-requirements/In today's episode, we're going to look at how to calculate your income when looking to sponsor parents, grandparents, or both to immigrate to Canada. And put simply when you apply to sponsor your parents or grandparents, you have to prove that you have enough money set aside through either through savings or earnings or dividends or from a gift to meet the income requirements in order to do it. Now, the income requirement does vary for parents and grandparent applicants, depending on the size of your immediate family. It depends on your immediate family, the number of people being sponsored. And of course, whether you're sponsoring family members in say, British Columbia or Quebec, there's going to be a little difference between Quebec and the other Canadian provinces. So the first thing we need to do when working out your income requirements for the PGP visa is actually calculate the size of the family unit right now. And the size of the family unit is based on who you (being the sponsor), are currently supporting in Canada right now, as well as anyone who you are planning to sponsor in the future. This is because the IRCC really want to see that you've got enough funds or enough resources to be able to support yourself, your immediate family and anyone else who you're looking to bring into the country. And the main reason for this is simply that they want to ensure that anyone coming into the country isn't going to be an immediate financial burden on the state. So then how do we count family members? Well, for the purposes of the PGP family members are going to include yourself, obviously, your husband or wife, spouse or boyfriend or girlfriend, common law partner, any dependent children that you have, any dependent children that your husband or wife or spouse or partner has. It's going to include any other person that you previously sponsored in the past for who you are perhaps still financially responsible. It's going to include the parents and grandparents that you want to sponsor. And of course, your parents and grandparents, their spouse, partner and dependent children, even if they are not coming to Canada with them. Do remember that when applying to sponsor your parents or grandparents and any dependent children that they that they have, if their children are over the age of 22 or not in full time education, they are not considered dependent. Okay, so how does this all fit together? Well, the IRCC is going to look at your income for the three consecutive tax years before you make the application. This is called the minimum necessary income. And it applies to the sponsor, not to their parents or grandparents. Although thankfully they do have a little bit of leeway, which means that perhaps if you can't quite make the minimum necessary income, then you can apply to have your spouse or common law partner as a cosigner to help meet the financial requirements of this undertaking. Now the minimum necessary income does change each year. It does tend to sometimes fluctuate, fluctuate upwards and downwards, although more often than not it does increase year upon year. So as of right now, the minimum necessary income for you as the sponsor with a family size of two people will be $32,270 Canadian dollars. If you have three people in your family unit, it would be $39,672 for four people it's $48,167. For five people, it's $54,630. For six people it's $61,613. And you have to either be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or registered under Canada's Indian Act. All of those people are eligible to sponsor their family to obtain Canadian permanent residency and ultimately then onward towards Canadian citizenship as well. Now the biggest difference between sponsoring someone as a permanent resident and sponsoring someone as a full Canadian citizen, is that if you are a permanent resident sponsoring, you're eligible relative and you have to be based physically in Canada when you make the application. How to immigrate to Canada through the Federal Skilled Worker ProgramObviously the Federal Skilled Worker Programme, also abbreviated to FSWP is the main way for highly skilled immigrants to move to Canada permanently. Now, when we say it's the main way, it's a huge way, it's a massive way for highly skilled individuals and families all over the world to successfully emigrate to Canada and start a new life. So how can you, as an individual listener, really benefit from Canada's Federal Skilled Worker Program?It's no secret that Canada aims to welcome over 400,000 new immigrants each and every year, and it's anticipated that well over 120,000 to 160,000 of these immigrants will come via the Express Entry route.So Express Entry is the management system of the Federal Skilled Worker programs and again, over the past six, seven, maybe eight years or so, literally, about 50% of all newcomers to Canada have arrived under Express Entry. Immigration pathways.So let's look at the process of immigrating to Canada via the FSWP immigration pathwayWell, step one is obviously to ensure you meet the FSWP eligibility criteria. And to do this, I would absolutely suggest and recommend that you take the free visa assessment which is available on this page.Okay, step two. This one is often very much overlooked in terms of, you know, the limited Canadian immigration information that's dished out or given out by so called Canadian Migration Agents and immigration lawyers, as I say, so step two is that you need to get your education verified, okay.So you're going to need to use an educational assessment company, such as Wes W. E. S, which is World Education Service. WES not the only educational credential organization and again, head over to Emigrate Canada for a full list of those. So the other thing that you're going to need to do at this point is take your IELTS. Or if you are applying to Quebec, or indeed if you have reasonable communication skills in French as well as English, then obviously do look to take the french exam as well. Now, you can take both the English exam and the French exam, you can take the French only, or the English only, depending on your language skills that you have.So what you're actually these is increasing your ultimate chances of being granted a visa. Okay, so there are two very confusing issues around express entry that appear confusing but once explained, are actually very simple. It's about 67 points, where does this 67 points issue come from?Once your Express Entry has been lodged, then you're assigned what's called a CRS score a comprehensive ranking system score, but you will only be accepted into express entry if you're scoring the 67 points, which is required for to make the ultimate Federal Skilled Worker applicationConfused? Generally, the IELTS test is a very important part of the journey, whether this is to get into university or college, to secure employment, or indeed to immigrate to Canada via one of the Express Entry pathways, and certainly lots of other different pathways as well.There are hundreds, if not 1000s of guides, and practice tests available on Amazon. There are myriad IELTS Preparation centres all around the world. Don't just rock up on the day and expect it to be fine. Maybe they left school or university a number of years ago and really haven't been in the exam environment since. And so when they walk in there and they see that it's invigilated, and there's all these formalities around where you see what you're allowed in your desk. People do tend to panic. And so what we want to do here is really debunk some of the myths around IELTS, because it's still a very popular test, especially with regards to Canadian immigration, and indeed, in terms of studying in Canada its the only English test accepted by the IRCC for international students who are looking to come to Canada under the student direct scheme.Canadian immigration is ultimately set at a governmental level as it is all around the world. And there we cannot really think for one moment that the government is going to allow an easier test to be taken, especially when it comes to awarding permanent residency and ultimately citizenship in that country.
