As a member of one of the oldest string quartets that will perform at the third String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam, violinist Rainer Schmidt of the Hagen Quartett shares his views on legacy within the genre and how new generations always bring something new to the table.The Hagen Quartett will perform two concerts during the third String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam (29 January - 5 February 2022). The String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam has launched a new programme for up-and-coming string quartets: the SQBA Residency. After an intense first week of the four-week programme, we hear three of the musicians reflect on their ensembles and the SQBA Residency so far. With: Kaja Nowak of the Karski Quartet (BE), Pau Marquès i Oléo of the Belinfante Quartet (NL) and Beatriz Raimundo of the Quarteto Tejo (PT).The three SQBA Residency ensembles will perform during the third String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam (29 January - 5 February 2022).
