Be Not Afraid Part 2

Be Not Afraid Part 2

2023-07-1548:50

Philippians 4:6-7 says " Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." We cannot change anything, we can only make our situation worse by not trusting God enough to go to Him in prayer. When we are afraid and don't trust God enough this is not God's fault, but mines and yours.
Hebrews 11:6, says " But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that is he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." I challenge anyone who listened to this Podcast to try Jesus Christ, and to tell other individuals who have not to also try. From first-hand experience, I promise you that this will be the best decision of your live.  Minster Dr. Carolyn Fields-Smith
To believe in the Word of God is our saving grace, thank God it is, for me. When we believe in the Word we are believing in Christ Jesus, Who is the Living Word.   In John chapter 1, it says," In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  In Christ Jesus we have hope. G. K. Chesterton wrote these words "There is no medicine like hope, no incentive, so great, and no tonic so powerful as the expectation of something better tomorrow." This is what Jesus Christ did for me for Himself is Hope and there is nothing better or more powerful than the Lord Jesus Christ.  The Good News is, what has done for me and so many others, He will willingly do the same for you.
Mental illnesses/disorders are dangerous and when left unattended can be deadly and there is nothing sweet about these illnesses. However, when I came to the realization that if I allowed God He could make me sane. I believed with all of my heart that if healing was not in God's plans for me, then He was more than able to keep me.  Scriptures became one of my stronger weapons which I learned through Christ Jesus to use against Satan. For example, Psalm 121:1-2, " I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." (KJV). God became my Helper and my Keeper and He will do the same for each of you in the name of Christ Jesus.
God has the ability to rewrite our history. God can heal our bodies, and our minds and even change the events of our lives, for nothing is impossible for Him. There are many stories in the Bible where God actually changed the past. Such as the ones Jesus raised from the dead. This message offered here is a story of a man born within life situations who was looked on at by others in a moment, not knowing what God had planned for his ending.  This lesson also teaches us the importance of prayer and a close relationship with God.
For all of us, there is a place we are most comfortable. This message offered today is an illustration of a widow who was willing to partake in her own breakthrough and deliver.  However, in order to do so she had to participate, she couldn't just sit and wish. She become involved in the plans of God to gain what was needed to not just pay her bills, but also save the lives of her sons. Thus, she move from what had most likely been comfortable as a wife to the uncomfortable position of a widow in need.  When we become willing to move from what we deem as comfortable to what we fear or see as uncomfortable we then can become willing participators in the Kingdom of allowing Jesus to be Lord of our lives.
Faith in the Word of God; which means that we believe all of God's promises, is my opinion the only way to have a blessed life. I say this because a blessed life means different things to different individuals.  While material blessings are certainly included in God's favor, however, the Bible ascribes a much fuller meaning to the term blessed. For me, a true look into what blessed looks like is noted by the Creator Himself in the Beatitudes. The Beatitudes can be read in the book of Matthew 5:3-12: and Luke 6:20-23. Biblical scholars proclaim that a true servant of God is blessed, regardless of circumstances, because God has favored him or her with a fully satisfied soul ( Psalm 63:1-5: John 4:14). AMEN
Scholar Watchman Née proclaims that the two happiest days in every believer’s life are the day he believes in the Lord and the day when, for the first time, he leads another person to Christ. Proverbs 11:30 says, "He that winneth souls is wise." From the very beginning of our Christian life, we should learn to win souls by various means. We should learn to be wise. No tree will sprout without further growth. Likewise, no one can have God’s life without begetting more life. Those who never witness to sinners are probably in need of others witnessing to them. New believers need to learn to witness to others from the very beginning. This is something we have to do for the rest of our lives. Telling others about our Savior and His Goodness with boldness & courage with love as He has loves each of us.
Sometime in this life, our faith will be tested. But one thing all believers should know is that we are loved by God and His mercy endures forever. God is forever faithful to all who have put their trust in His Only Son: Jesus Christ.
1 John 4:4 says to you & " Greater is He that is within us than he that is in the word.' In other words; the One Who lives within us is Greater than Satan and his evil attacks on our minds. In short God is Greater; but we must believe these Word and resist Satan and submit to the will of God for our lives
In the above message; Jesus Christ graciously meets the needs of a father who asks in faith for Jesus to heal his sick daughter. However, Jesus takes time for another sick daughter. So by the time Jesus gets to Jairus's daughter she has died. A fact that did not trouble Jesus; but badly troubled Jairus.   Therefore, Jesus tells Jairus "Don't be afraid; just believe." As we look closer at this particular story; we can read that there are two miracles within a miracle, with two "daughters are' healed. Jesus graciously meets their respective needs and responded to their faith with equal love, power, and willingness to heal. Jesus shows no partiality and does not favor the rich over the poor, for we are all the work of His hand.
The gospel of Deuteronomy 12:26-28 sums it up this way: " obey and you will be blessed. Disobey and you will be cursed." In the New Testament, we learn through the example of Jesus Christ that believers are called to a life of obedience. According to Scripture, obedience is the key to our success. Obedience is the sure and promised way for unlocking blessings for our lives.  Obedience is not necessary for salvation, but unwillingness to obey most certainly means we don't believe in God.  It is impossible to follow God without being obedient to Him or His teaching.
In Jeremiah 29:11; God said these Words " For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and to not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  The plans God had for Jeremiah can also be His plans for our lives when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Some might be fearful that God will change your plans. Yes, God will change you plans, but His plans are better than your or mines.   And yes; we should make plans, but they should be made through counsel with God . The only way to ensure the success  of our plans is to test them with the desires of God's heart.
In the book of Genesis, God preaches the first sermon in regard to His Son.  God makes a promise that is fulfilled in the New Testament. The birth of Jesus Christ is the most important event that has happened on this earth and it was for mankind, and because of His love for mankind.
Friends; read aloud God's promise to us in the book of  Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11; 'For I know the plans I have for you; declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future Christians as we face and live though difficult situations; we can take comfort in knowing and holding tight to the above promise of God. We should believe in our hearts that God has a plan for our lives regardless of our present situations. We know that God dose not promise to immediately rescue us from  the hardship of pai, but we believe that He can work through them to prosper us and give us hope; through Christ Jesus.
Many among us have grown weary and heavy-laden by life situations and just plain hard ships of trouble times. We face life and death situations every day of our lives, but in the mist of it all; God says" live" just trust Me.  God never promises to take you and I out of a situation; of a fight but what He does promise is that we are not in anything in this life alone.  There will be many battles in our lives that God will fight for us but there will be some in which  He will provide what whatever we need to stand and fight for ourselves. And during these times here is one promise that has greatly encouraged and strengthen my soul in my journey with mental illnesses. In Isaiah 40: 29-31; God says " He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."  All of God's promises are "Yes and " Amen" in Christ Jesus. Thank God for Jesus Christ!
Someone wrote; renew our minds with the Word of God, and our minds and our hearts will grow strong in faith. We can increase our faith by reading, studying, and hearing God's Word. If our minds are confused, our mouths won't agree with Word of God. When we read and find a promise in God's Word that applies to our situations all we have to do is believe that He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. We can take heart in Jesus Christ for He is the one Steadfast and unchanging Anchor; Who can hold our lives together. A. W. Tozer wrote that "any faith that must be supported by evidence of the sense is not real faith." He also wrote "God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which He must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves."  So let each of us pray and ask God to help us with our unbelief in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN.
As Christians'  most of us know what the Bible says, and we do trust God to take care and direct our lives, but sometimes we are faced with something that seems to overpower our faith. We don't seem to have enough faith to follow God as we should at that moment, so we ask for faith. We acknowledge that even our faith comes from God. It is His work in our lives that enables us to believe and obey. And yes; there are times when we are so weighed down by the cares of this world that we feel that this life is not worth living. But it is during these times that the Holy Spirit speaks to us; bringing to mind this Scripture  "Come to Me, all you who are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30). This is a promise of profound peace that can only come from God through our belief in Jesus Christ. Do you believe it?
Merry Christmas my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.  And let us be doers and as well hearers of the Word of God. "For in Matthew 25:31-46; Jesus says " Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me." Do others see the Lord Jesus Christ in us?  According, to Biblical Scholars "least" in this text refers to those in a variety of needy situations. They include the hungry, thirsty, impoverished, sick, and imprisoned. Jesus said that those who cared for such individuals were not merely serving other people. They were serving Him. We thank  God for Jesus Christ; for His birth,  for His Life,  for His Crucifixion, and for His Resurrection.
" For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." ( John 3:16) God's love for us is just too great to understand. As mere humans, we cannot fully understand why He loves us so. And yet, when we look at what He gave up for us and look at the life of Jesus Christ; there should be no doubt that those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savoir; are secure in His love forever. There is nothing powerful enough to separate us from God's love. We may never reach the level of understanding that Paul prayed for us in Ephesians 3:18-19, but we can thank God continually for His sacrifice and love given to us through Jesus Christ our Solid Rock.
