William decides to discover the whereabouts of his old classmates. thanks to the Internet it had become mush easier. Within a short time he has contacted them all, and arranged a reunion. He books a dinner on a famous old steam ship, the first one to sail the Atlantic, now docked in the harbour as a tourist attraction. All goes well to begin with. But as the night progresses a change comes ov er the ship, and the group experience a terrifying and deadly experience.
osh and Amanda live in an apartment on an island linked to the mainland by a causeway. They go out for an evening to celebrate Josh's birthday. On the way home a fog descends and their way back to their home becomes a tangled web through the ages culminating in a nightmare,

Aiden works for an old investment firm. He has only joined recently and has been given the task of coordinating an investment proposal from Justin, a young tech entrepreneur. They meet at one of the city's old dockside pubs for a drink and a chat. It is late in the year and the weather is bad; a thick fog begins to fall. People are not out. They pub is very quiet, and they are soon left alone in it. There is a power cut and the old barman places candles on the tables. I is very atmospheric, redolent of the old times when the pub was frequented by well-known pirates. A single other customer comes in. A strange man with a strange accent. After they accept a drink form him, the r world changes forever.
The first of a selection of 14 short stories of the type 'tales of the unexpected'. Mr Vane is viewing a large, old, sorting office, now derelict. He is keen for his company to convert it into a modern block of apartments, offices, restaurants, and bars. Mr Guy arrives to show him around. They enter the old building. Whilst Mr Vane inspects the property, Mr Guy seems to vanish. Mr Van returns to the door which they used to enter the building, but it is not there. The lights begin to go out. He is left in the dark. Fear and panic penetrate him. What is the reason for his seeming imprisonment? Will he escape? What is the outcome?
Paul is working on an archaeological dig uncovering a Roman mosaic floor when he discovers a gold bracelet. He should have left it where it was. But the feel of it tempted him. He could not resist putting on his own wrist. He most certainly should not have, for he finds himself nearly two thousand years in t he past, and faces a forbidding centurion.

From the book of short stories - Stories of Lost Souls by P F Damsberg. Two young men are connected by a business proposal. They meet for an evening drink in an old pub on the Bristol dockside. It was once used by well-known pirates like Blackbeard and was the supposed inn of Long John Silver. It was also the place where Daniel Defoe heard the story of Alexander Selkirk's marooning on a desert island. The night is a quiet one. The electricity cuts out. A stranger joins them at their table and offers them a drink. Their world is about to change forever.
An old building is up for sale. A perfect place and location for renovation, or clearance and replacement with modern glass and steel buildings. Mr Vane thinks that his company can make a killing from the venture. He is meeting Mr Guy, the seller, who takes him into the building to show him around. But Mr Vane finds himself alone.
