We talk about return on investment a lot in the marketing world. But how do you know that the thousands of dollars you spent on copywriting and design really gave you any website ROI?Today I'm talking all about how to measure a website's success after it launches. After listening to the case study that I did with Tony Howell, who recently invested in a website copy project with me, I realized that there was a lot to be said about getting some data to know if the messaging choices, the design choices — and everything really — came together gave you a return on investment for your website.___________________________________________EPISODE 118.Read the show notes and view the full transcript here: COMING SOON ______________________________________________Learn more about your host, Erin OllilaErin Ollila believes in the power of words and how a message can inform – and even transform – its intended audience. Part two of this website copy client case study is here! If you've been curious about would be like to work with me and what goes on behind the scenes in a website copy project, this episode will fill you in. I invited Tony Howell, a website designer and personal branding expert to join me on Talk Copy to Me to chat about what it was like to work together.  If you haven't listened to part one of this case study yet, I highly recommend going back to the previous episode and giving it a listen first. Since these two episodes were recorded during one conversation we may reference the previous episode in what is discussed today. Today, you'll hear part two. Tony and I talk about Whether Tony had difficulty feeling as if he could trust me with his brand (since he's used to being the service provider, not the client)What Tony learned from working with me that he'll take into future client projects and in his own copywriting for his businessHow Erin had to check herself throughout the process to determine whether the advice she was giving was strategic or just preference-relatedHow Tony and Erin had to completely give up their normal processes and figure out how to work together and in tandem in writing and designWhat website wireframing looks like when a copywriter creates it, and how a wireframe can influence the design process as wellAnd I sincerely hope that you'll tune back in tomorrow for part two of our conversation where we'll break down whether or not it was hard for Tony to put his faith in me, what  website wireframing looks like, and how we both had to significantly adjust our processes in order to work together. Learn more and sign up for one of Tony's future in-person events in LA, Chicago, and NYC.______________________________________________EPISODE 117.Read the show notes and view the full transcript here: https://erinollila.com/a-website-copy-case-study-with-client-tony-howell/______________________________________________Learn more about your guest, Tony HowellTony Howell is a personal brand strategist and web designer for Emmy, Grammy, Tony, Oscar, and Olivier award-winning artists. Running an online business is challenging. Rewarding—sure! But challenging? Absolutely yes. From determining your niche, your goals, and deciding who you should trust, hire, and work with...there's a heck of a lot of decisions that go into owning and running an online business. And even more than the decisions you'll make are the opinions you'll hear. I can't go for more than a few seconds on social media without seeing marketing "experts" preach about what online entrepreneurs must do in order to attract a new audience and convert leads into paying customers. And this is exactly why I invited Maggie Patterson onto the show so we could have an honest conversation about how to read between the lines of what's being said online and run a business in a way that feels good and true to who you are. ______________________________________________EPISODE 114. Today is February 29, which, if you ask me, is one of the most fun days. Ever since I was a little kid, I found it so interesting to have a day that only happens once every four years, and I knew I wanted to take advantage of this when I realized that one of my podcast episodes fell on the 29th. This is where the idea for sharing marketing predictions came in.But, as an overachiever at heart, I knew I couldn't just share one set of marketing predictions. Oh, no. I wanted to call in the big wigs to help make looking into the future of marketing into a mini series.I'm so grateful to Liz Wilcox, Lindsay Padilla, and Andréa Jones for joining me on the show to talk about email, podcasting, and social media marketing. But now the big day is here, and it's my job to pull out the crystal ball and cover all the other marketing-specific bases that we didn't talk about yet on the show. The pressure, y'all! After a moment of panic—and a ton of research—I came up with a few key things I wanted to delve into on the podcast. This episode explores the uncertainty of SEO, predictions for changes in marketing copy and content, shifts in social media advertising, the role of AI in marketing, and why we need to start paying attention to the stricter privacy regulations coming our way.______________________________________________EPISODE 111.Read the show notes and view the full transcript here: https://erinollila.com/celebrating-leap-year-with-marketing-predictions-for-the-next-four-years/______________________________________________Learn more about your host, Erin OllilaErin Ollila believes in the power of words and how a message can inform – and even transform – its intended audience. What does the future of podcasting have in store for us? Will there be growth? Stagnation? Will things evolve much more from what they are now? The truth is...I don't really know.If recent history is an indicator as to what we can expect over the next four years, listenership is going to grow and private podcasting — which is still baby in the podcast world — is going to evolve. But what else can we expect from podcasting besides just growth? I asked Lindsay Padilla, podcasting expert and the co-founder of HelloAudio, to weigh in and share her predictions for the next four years of podcasting. We'll check back in 2028...but I'm sure Lindsay's thoughts about the future of podcasting are going to ring true.______________________________________________EPISODE 109.Read the show notes and view the full transcript here: https://erinollila.com/the-future-of-podcasting-lindsay-padilla/______________________________________________Learn more about our guest, Lindsay PadillaDr. Lindsay Padilla is an ex-community college professor who accidentally started a business while on the tenure track. Those are some of the most popular website pages. Let's dive deeper to think about some of the website pages that often go overlooked. EPISODE 101.Did you know that your clients and customers can actually help you write your website copy? And no, I'm not suggesting that you ask them to help you type out the words or strateguze what goes on the page. And best yet, you can provide the solution for them.In this episode, Nadine Nethary joins me to talk all about voice of customer research specifically for website copy. It's a must listen if you want to refresh your site or burn it all down and start from scratch.
