Description

Warm blanket of a baseball podcast where every week I chat with someone about how they fell in love with baseball and why they love baseball now. I will be talking to fans, players, players' family members, members of the media, celebs, and team staff––as wide a variety of people as possible. This is a podcast for everyone, no matter what team you root for!

Heather talks to Sung Min Kim, former writer for FanGraphs and the Athletic about his journey to becoming a baseball fan after moving to America, the KBO, getting a Masters degree in baseball, moving back to Korea and working for a KBO team,  gaining attention from the American baseball community while living in Korea,  the difference between the culture of baseball in America and other countries, and more!
Heather talks to Dan Szymborski,  Fangraphs writer and the creator of the ZIPS projection system. Dan is a nerd. Dan is also an Orioles fan! Something many Orioles fans are not aware of, because lately ZIPS  ranks the Orioles down at the bottom every year. (Though, they are the second most overrated team over the last 17 years, so really you could argue it has a pro-Orioles bias!)We talk the days of very early baseball internet communities, how MLB's target demographics are billionaires and 1950s/1960s  (white) nuclear families, the future of baseball media,  and, you know, all the how he fell in love with baseball/why he loves baseball/favorite moments/what he's excited about stuff.

Did you all know that Caroline Means, former professional soccer player and wife of Orioles star pitcher John Means, is an absolute badass? Pretty soon not only will you know that, you'll adore her as much as Heather does.
The CBA is confusing, especially if you don't have a solid background in union law. In this episode, Heather talks to union lawyer Eugene Freedman about his love for baseball, labor law, and his passion for baseball labor relations. Get ready to learn a lot! (We are a pro-union, pro-MLBPA podcast!)
Heather talks to Miami Marlins relief pitcher Richard Bleier about:How outs are good and not getting outs is bad. Why players should be nice to fans, not assholes.Bullpen carts. Being old for a baseball player. Not understanding Snapchat or TikTok.Analytics being weird. Getting draftedThe middle finger incident. How much his daughter loves baseball. The benefits of low expectations.Hamsters And much more! Not even kind of in that order.
I was told people like clips. That it gets them excited for new podcasts and upcoming episodes. So here's a four minute clip from one of the best parts of my conversation with former Baltimore Baltimore Oriole, Current Miami Marlin, hopefully future stand-up comedian, and all-around great guy Richard Bleier!
Oooh it is a brief intro! Exciting!
