Dr. Rav is a psychological scientist with a PhD in social psychology from the University of Melbourne. Her research specialises in attitude and behaviour change and understanding the fundamental question – “why do people do what they do?”. Having experienced chronic pain and undergoing intensive treatment, Rav was inspired to use her research and data analysis skills to pick up “at-risk” patients early in the treatment journey. This resulted in QuantCare – a platform to help healthcare providers use the power of data to practise patient-centred care and improve their business at the same time. Her mission is to bring the patient voice into clinical practice and help healthcare providers use data for good. If you love our show, please subscribe! HotDoc is Australia's largest and most trusted patient engagement platform with over 21,000 listed doctors and 8 million active patients. In 2012, Ben Hurst founded HotDoc as a way to better connect clinics and clinicians with their patients. His idea came from conversations had around the dinner table with his Mum (a GP) and his Dad (an ENT specialist) who spoke often of being bogged down in administration and at a loss when it came to keeping in contact with patients once they had left the clinic. With the dream of building a platform that would allow health practitioners to keep their patients engaged between visits to the clinic, HotDoc began first as an online booking directory. Over time the platform has grown to a suite of products that help clinics not only keep their existing patients engaged, but attract new patients, improve their efficiency, and better the patient experience.Ben shares his personal story with Chris, covering what it took to get HotDoc to where it is now, the HealthTech landscape and what we can expect from HotDoc in the future! If you love our show, please subscribe! HoMie started out of curiosity in 2015, between 3 friends eager to break down the stigma associated with homelessness and those experiencing it rough on the streets. Starting as just a Facebook page - Homelessness of Melbourne aimed to draw awareness to the faces and stories of everyday people affected by homelessness and allow people to share their own narrative in a dignified way, ultimately destigmatising and humanising the issue. The following year, this idea grew into HoMie - Homelessness Of Melbourne Incorporated Enterprise and a retail pop-up at Melbourne Central was born, with a singular monogram tee and a few other brands hanging on racks. Chris chats with Nick, diving into the story of how HoMie was created and will continue to impact these affected by homelessness in Melbourne. If you love our show, please subscribe!
