Billy Galt Billy Galt is a blues guitarist and singer  his current and longest lasting band is "Blues Deacons"     for 30 years,     Billy tells stories of his beginning years playing in Chicago, IL.     to take a quote from a News Gazette In Studio Interview           "I backed some blues guys. Homesick James, who lived to be around 100, in Chicago. I played with Sonny Boy Williamson Jr. in a street band in Chicago. In the winter, we'd play in Memphis, New Orleans, L.A., Houston, San Francisco. I was living in my old Suburban at the time. We just lived on the street. It was a lot of fun"I also played with Maxwell Street Jimmy. We would play in a little club in Champaign and leave around 3 in the morning and go up to Maxwell Street's open market and start playing at 7 in the morning and play all day. It was great. For a small-town kid, I had hardly been to a big city before.
