The SEC Takeover Pod goes LIVE to discuss the SEC league meetings that took place this week in Destin, Florida. Most of the meetings' business was overshadowed by the drama of Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher seeing each other for the first time since the two exchanged barbs publicly over NIL.#bovada  #secfootball  #jimbofisher Presented by Prize Picks for Daily Fantasy and Bovada for sportsbook and casino.Greg Sankey seemed to indicate that the SEC is headed in a direction to do away with divisions. With Texas and Oklahoma set to enter the league in the next couple of years, the question is now whether the league will adopt a 8 or 9 game conference schedule. Permanent rivalries come into play in a such tradition laden conference. Finally, Tavarres, Knowshon, and Blayne continue ranking individual players in the league by position. This week we go over the top 5 SEC wide receivers heading into 2022.jimbo fisher nick sabanreactionsec schedulegreg sankey

Now Lane Kiffin has come in and dropped his opinion on NIL and college football today.Greg Sankey is flexing his muscles in front of the rest of the college football community. They do the work. Why that should be limited to a scholarship check, I disagree with. And they shouldn’t be [paid] all equal. That’s not what happens in the real world. Why does their best player get paid the same as their worst player? That’s not real life. There’s just not a system. It was ‘O.K., open it up!’ No system behind it. I’m sure some people saw these things coming, and a lot of people didn’t.These collectives, you basically made what was cheating before legal. You had no rules behind it. You’ve created something that was going to have a ton of issues. To think these things weren’t going to go this direction, once you allow boosters to do whatever they wanted …""It’s totally changed recruiting. I joke all the time about it. Facilities and all that. Go ahead and build facilities and these great weight rooms and training rooms, but you ain’t gonna have any good players in them if you don’t have NIL money. I don’t care who the coach is or how hard you recruit, that is not going to win over money."
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss football add another weapon on offense in former Oklahoma and UCF receiver Jaylon Robinson. Sam Pittman brings another former Georgia Bulldog to Arkansas in Matt Landers. The hire of Bryan Harsin just over a year ago was met with mixed reviews by both the Auburn football faithful and SEC/college football pundits. Harsin led Auburn to a 6-7 record in the 2021 season. Auburn finished the season with a late-season collapse at home versus Alabama in the Iron Bowl and a loss to Houston in the Birmingham Bowl.Since that time it's been nothing but turmoil for Harsin and the Auburn football program. Auburn fired Mike Bobo and hired Austin Davis of the Seattle Seahawk to replace Bobo as OC. Just over a month later, Davis would have second thoughts and resign. Also, for Vanderbilt head coach and 2021 Auburn DC Derek Mason resigned and took a $400,000 pay cut to go to Oklahoma State as the DC for the Cowboys and Mike Gundy.Auburn has lost many players to the transfer portal as well including Bo Nix, Kobe Hudson, Ladarius Tennison, Shaun Shivers, and Lee Hunter. The SEC Takeover Pod with Tavarres King and Knowshon Moreno break down the state of Auburn football with guest Jake Crain of The JBoy Show form the Volume.Subscribe to the Takeover Sports Network on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Spotify.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXd9541vxjUHIF8kV-FsCZQhttps://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sec-takeover-pod/id1607390973https://open.spotify.com/show/2qqyNtw0uq6icQ6OY8RtwZ?si=0836b96256424f2f
