I have been a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist for 11 years. I am excited to be launching a new product that was developed because of my son’s interest to learn how to tie his shoes at 4 years old. Thinking like an SLP helped us learn this difficult skill of shoe-tying and we were able to develop something as a family that is intentional and fun. We are thrilled to share Tie-Mates with others and hope it brings smiles and confidence to many children and families! Our goal is to enhance child development, while empowering parents. @languagenlearning.jones4 @tiemates https://etsy.me/3zqW8OK

I completed my undergrad at New Mexico State University on a full-ride scholarship to ride for their Equestrian Team. I then went to graduate school at UW-Whitewater, where I had clinical rotations in schools, acute care, birth-three, pediatric SNF, and an LTACH. I completed my CF in Birth-Three and have been working there ever since. I also worked PRN in acute care for about a year. Back in October, I started to toy around with the idea of starting my private practice. I incessantly researched and figured out everything I needed to do to start and had officially launched my practice a month later. I had 3 clients booked within 3 weeks and have absolutely loved it. I’m still learning as I go but it has been very exciting. I live in Milwaukee with my boyfriend and our 2 dogs. I am new to the SLP Instagram world but I have loved connecting with other SLPs from all over! Email: info@talkingbearspeech.com Instagram. @talkingbearspeechFacebook: Talking Bear Speech Therapy
Michelle Hu has been a pediatric audiologist for over 12 years working specifically with the diagnosis, hearing amplification, cochlear implant evaluation, programming and aural rehabilitation. Something unique about her is that she grew up hard of hearing herself. She was fit with hearing aids at at 3 years and now utilizes bilateral cochlear implants. Her personal experience lends to her uncanny ability to relate and be a role model for others with hearing loss and source of strength and hope for parents of children with hearing loss. As a mother of three and a military spouse, Michelle strives to balance family life, clinical practice and entrepreneurship. During maternity leave with her second child, she found herself missing the relationships created in the clinic with patients. Thus Mama Hu Hears was created as a space where she shares personal and professional experiences with hearing loss and the field of audiology. With thousands people with hearing loss and parents of children with hearing loss reached out to her for help, guidance and to share their stories, Michelle knew she had to do something more. She has created an online program titled “My Child Has Hearing Loss, Now What?” to support anxious and doubtful parents through their family’s hearing loss journey. www.mamahuhears.comInstagram: @mama.hu.hearshttps://www.facebook.com/mamahuhearsTranscription available at: https://otter.ai/u/8X7wZZqxsxcSvJBHdtY8Jme5U0w

Kim is an idea person.  She is a practicing SLP and began her career working for private practices that she didn't quite believe in.  She felt she could do it better, took business classes at night, and opened her first business- a private, pediatric speech and occupational therapy clinic- in 2012.  By 2013, she had opened her second business- The Flourish Center in Columbus, Ohio- to bring a new model of therapy to her area.  The Flourish Center housed related professionals with her therapy team and became a warm, one-stop shop to help children with all abilities.   Both businesses took off and she decided to sell both businesses at it's height with 26 employees.  She thought she would retire and travel and homeschool her kids... but her ideas got the best of her.  She has ideas for lifetimes and loved the admin side of owning a practice so much, that she is now a solopreneur of her next business, Hatched Consulting (hatchedconsult.com).  She now helps heart-centered businesses with startups, pivots and refreshes to scratch her "idea itch."Website: www.hatchedconsult.comFaccebook: http://www.facebook.com/hatchedconsultInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/hatchedconsult/
