Join us in a heart warming dialogue around faith & deconstruction. Who are the Nones & Dones in Christianity? What is happening to Western Christianity. Today's episode highlights the reality of the work that's needed to unpack the harm of fundamental religion.
I found it to be psychologically harming to me and that of my human agency that the Christian God could only love me and recognize my human significance only in Jesus. In my fictitious conversation with Jesus, I gave him his life back and he welcomed it. He told me it was always mine and that my life was never his to take. No one starts their deconstructing journey looking to call their faith tradition into question. I know I didn't! However, the unique dynamics of deconstruction will also have you call into question other constructs you've been indoctrinated in as well. So in today's episode, we will touch on the fringes of Deconstructing the Christian Man Box & Toxic Masculinity. This episode is dedicated to the survivors of abuse and in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Nothing should be taboo when it comes to deconstrcution and letting go of indoctrination can be hard. I'm not here to make an argument for a historical Jesus. I'm not here to make an argument for a Christian Christ-Centric Jesus. I'm not here to make arguments for either of those. But I am here to argue that it is normal and that it is okay to deconstruct Jesus.
Christian Leaders often say don't deconstruct to the point where you don't have nothing left and place emphais on reconstructing with no value around a persons autonomy. Listen in family as I dialogue about placing value on your own autonomy as you navigate the deconstructing continum.
