Description

Broadcasting from the Backwoods of Montana. Zach and Tricia built a successful part-time e-commerce business, that turned full-time. Join in to hear from them and other industry experts to see what it takes to build a thriving business. Zach and Tricia decided it was time that their lessons learned from failing forward be shared with other small business owners. After all, these failures are what launched their business to ultimately succeed. Tricia excelled as an Auditor for a major firm, with experience analyzing the books for major auto companies and forensic accounting, all before deciding she wanted to stay home and focus on raising 4 children. Zach proudly served 20 years in the Air Force, with experience as an aircraft mechanic and recruiter. Together they created TFTWood. TFTWood started with working craft shows until that all came to an end in 2020 and they were forced to refocus the business into an e-commerce business. At that point, they were able to generate more revenue in 3 months than they had generated over the past 3 years combined!

In today's episode, we chat with Michael from Calavera Tool Works and discuss the importance of small business rule number 1: time is money. With the ever-changing demand from customers and in light of recent shifts in e-commerce there's one thing we're sure all business owners are painfully aware of: Time IS Money. And who better to discuss this topic than Michael - a maker at heart and a business owner doing amazing things in the workshop space. A little about Calavera Tool Works - While Michael grew up building anything and everything he could dream up. He worked construction through high school and college and along the way learned a little about designing and making furniture. "I fell in love with making things... starting with nothing, cooking up an idea, then burning through materials until I made it to a finished piece. I have since destroyed a lot of the evidence."
