Growing up in the Wharton home was full of fun, discipline, laughter and Black identity. As the parents of three loving children, Nick and Regina wanted their children to experience things that they didn't experience on their own. Among other things, they taught their children the importance of higher education, and loving people. There is a thin line between respect and disrespect.  We are all different people, from different backgrounds that  have shaped our perspective of what we think respect is. Money mismanagement is one of the main reasons, many couples result to divorce. Nick and Regina learned the value of money and it’s importance from the world around them. Nick’s mom worked. Often times, his street smarts and go-getter attitude allowed him to  sell candy to his friends and neighbors. Regina was the product of a two parent home. Her dad owned a business and her mother was a stay-at-home mom. Communication is important in any relationship.
