Preparing for postpartum to best support Mum, Dad and Baby. In today’s episode I’m joined by my partner Tyson Venables. We are sharing out approach to preparing for the postpartum period (which is defined as the first 6 weeks post-birth). This is a really raw episode. We talk about the practical things we did to support ourselves and to aid in the birth recovery. As well as diving into the challenges that we faced with sleep deprivation and the grieving process of letting go of our old way of being. The Dad’s perspective on postpartum is really missing and Tys shares honestly the struggles he faced and the things he did to support himself and both River and I. We dive into intimacy after birth. How we supported our nutritional needs. What I did to physically recover from birth. Why we asked for no visitors for at least 30 days. Lessons around setting boundaries.  Why we spent so much time naked and so much more! It’s a juicy one. Share it with your partner! If you loved the episode please leave me a review and a 5 star rating to help me reach more ears.A HUGE thank you to this episodes sponsor, Minbie. In this BONUS episode I'm joined by Anne Durham. Anne is a Vedic Meditation Initiator, Kriya Yoga Teacher and Yoga-Vedantic Mentor.  When the Northern Rivers of NSW was hit with catastrophic flooding (twice!!) she found herself following charm and heading up a community lead initiative to coordinate rescues, supplies and support for those affected. Our family was personally affected by the flooding  (you can see our story here https://www.instagram.com/p/CbhSmLbBURH/) and we witnessed first hand the lack of government support. It truly was the local community supporting each other, and still is. Anne's story is inspiring and reminds us that we all have the power within us to step up in times of need.
