Suey

I really like the idea of "catching" a song--never heard that distinction before but I've experienced something like that many times on my own, and only a small handful with other people around (I am not a Singer). Years ago I was on a long road trip with my now husband--we were going through a torrential storm, getting very punchy and tired, feeling cooped in the car as we drove through middle of nowhere. I don't know how it started exactly--because we don't usually do things like this-- we started doing this impromptu wordless song together that was constantly evolving but never slipped up because we were perfectly synced. In my mind it sounded like the most masterful orchestral piece I've ever heard. But, for the life of me I can't remember what it actually sounded like, or what the tunes were--I only remember the feeling of it sitting here today. It went on for what seemed like 30 minutes at the time, not sure if it actually was that long. When we wound down and stopped singing it
