The Second Shift

2023-04-2601:03:00

The gang is back from our hiatus and we are talking about work, the second shift, NYC art scenes that exploit women, abortion bans and general hatred of the current moment.
Kit, Heather and Tai are joined by Wren Mack and Yuna, our trans comrades, to talk about the connections between trans eliminationism and white nationalism. They discuss terfism and GCism as white supremacist feminism, the connections between border enforcement and transphobia, anti-Semitic conspiracy and trans feminism as the present and future of all feminism. They reference Sara Ahmed's writing on GC feminism: https://feministkilljoys.com/2021/10/31/gender-critical-gender-conservative/Correction:Sara Ahmed was born in Australia (not the UK)
Aurora, Kit and Tai discuss US gun fetishism and its connection to male supremacy, fascism and mass shootings. Articles mentioned:https://www.historicalmaterialism.org/blog/reconsidering-sexual-politics-fascism
Tai, Kit, Heather and Aurora (our new contributor to the project) discuss Roe v Wade, mass shootings, the anti-feminist backlash that is quickly growing in intensity and how this relates to the rise of Evangelical Christian Fascism. This will be the first of a series of episodes dedicated to Fascism and Male Supremacy.
Tai Lee and Kit Sheridan introduce themselves and the aims of the project, PRIVATE LIFE.  They discuss the present and future of feminism, organizing and theory building, Me Too, trans liberation and feminist revolution. They then go on to discuss the feminist philosopher Monique Wittig and the specter of social sex abolitionism.
