Description

You never really know someone…especially online. In today’s world, the power of influence can be the quickest path to money and fame, and it often ends in ruin. These are the stories of the world’s most insidious Scamfluencers. And we are their prey. On Wondery’s new weekly series, join co-hosts Scaachi Koul and Sarah Hagi as they unpack epic stories of deception from the worlds of social media, fashion, finance, health, and wellness. These influencers claim to be everything from charismatic healers to trusted financial insiders to experts in dating. They cast spells over millions. Why do we believe them, and how does our culture allow them to thrive? From Black Swan Murder to a fake social media influencer to an audacious Hollywood Ponzi schemer, each season will take the listener along the twists and turns, the impact on victims, and what’s left when the facade falls away.

Implying that migrants have no support in obtaining ID, licenses (or U.S. Passports) is absurd. NGO's like Cath.Charities, Journeys End and Jew Family Services assist them with every available state, county and federal benefit and of course the most important document, the Democratic party voter ID card.

There is a 1992 movie called "Medicine Man" about a research that discovers the cure for cancer in nature. it is a good flick starring Sean Connery and Lorraine Bracco.

I really enjoy hearing about the scams but you two are snots the way you degrade men is shameful and if anyone did that to women the screaming would never stop why the double standards you should be ashamed of yourself for doing that

I find myself disappointed beyond belief anytime I hear women say sexist things about men that they wouldn't tolerate in Reverse nor should they tolerate but it seems to be okay to do that to a person that has a y chromosome

I was very disappointed with your lack of sympathy for this young lady. she was horribly sexually abused by a predator, that he was young does not undo the damage that was done. Your lack of understanding that somebody could be treated like this and then just get over it and move on (please add a sarcastic voice at that point) demonstrates how little you understand and is a classic example of blaming the victim. it is proven that places like Riker Island creates criminals.

I quit Twitter even b4 Elon took over because it was so toxic. I can't imagine what it's like to be on it now. After I left, my mental health improved tremendously.

wow, why are white people ok to attack? If comments were about blacks, browns or reds, these girls would be fired before the episode was done. Disgusting.

I rarely comment, but this one has my anxiety ramped up. My best friend back in 1975. I think we are lucky to be alive.

it was pretty hilarious to hear the federation member claim the organization is not a cartel just because it's legal when what the QMSP/FMSP is doing is the EXACT definition of a cartel 😂

I don't really understand why they get weirdly stereotypical and a bit racist about French people, the accent is so off as well...

Anyone who didn't already know would infer from this episode that 'Rebecca' the original novel was German. Rather, it is English, having been written by English author Daphne Du Maurier, and set in Cornwall, where Du Maurier lived and where most of her works are set. And 'the housekeeper' is Mrs Danvers - is there anybody who doesn't recognize that name? I like this series, but the ignorance / dumbing down sometimes feels a bit deliberate.
