Have you ever stopped to think about how you breathe? It's something we do unconsciously, around 23,000 times a day! But what if you're not doing it right? It's thought that over 50% of us are breathing dysfunctionally and studies suggest that up to 75% of people with anxiety also have dysfunctional breathing patterns. And the truth is,  even without a diagnosis, most of us could breathe better so that we can feel better. This week's episode dives deep into dysfunctional breathing, uncovering the reasons behind it and  its effects on your well-being.Most importantly, I teach you how to identify it in yourself by sharing three simple ways to assess your own breathing.  You'll also learn what healthy everyday breathing looks like.If you're ready to unlock the full potential of your breath? On today’s Thursday Thoughts, Lucy & I are talking about complaining. We all love a good moan, but there’s a difference between getting something off your chest, and constantly complaining. We all have a choice as to whether we want to be a ‘drain’ or a ‘radiator’; whether we set the thermostat in the room, or shift our state of being to the temperature of those around us.We also have a choice about who we allow access to us. Are we surrounding ourselves with people who lift us up, or drag us down? While it’s normal and necessary to have a good old rant sometimes, it’s important not to allow the negativity of complaining to become our norm.We hope you’ll find something useful in here.Love,Polly & Lucy xSupport the Show.To find out more about Just Breathe and to join the Just Breathe community go to: https://www.pollywarren.com/justbreatheTo book a FREE 15 minute discovery call with me go to: https://calendly.com/pollywarrencoaching/15minTo join my FB group go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepositiveperimenopauseclubEmail me at: info@pollywarren.comhttps://www.pollywarren.com/https://www.instagram.com/pollywarrencoaching/

Did you know that heart disease is the leading cause of death globally with more women being affected than men?  In the UK, one in eight men and one in 14 women die from coronary heart disease, with more women dying from it than breast cancer. Falling estrogen levels at menopause,  weight gain, high cholesterol, and increased blood pressure can all affect our heart health but the good news is that  80% of cases are preventable through lifestyle changes. And this is something I chat to this week's guest, Michelle Routhenstein, about. Michelle is a Cardiology Dietitian, Preventive Cardiology Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and Certified Diabetes Educator and is on a mission to revolutionise heart disease management and prevention. In this episode, Michelle:💛 Encourages us to measure the risk factors for our heart health.💛 Explains how menopause increases women’s risk of heart disease.💛 Shares the importance of nutrition and other lifestyle measures for heart health.💛 Breaks down some of the misconceptions about a heart-healthy diet. This is an important topic that we all need to be aware of as we can determine how healthy our hearts are!For more on Michelle:http://www.entirelynourished.com Instagram: Heart.Health.NutritionistAuthor of the Truly Easy Heart Healthy CookbookSupport the showTo find out more about Just Breathe and to join the Just Breathe community go to: https://www.pollywarren.com/justbreatheTo book a FREE 15 minute discovery call with me go to: https://calendly.com/pollywarrencoaching/15minTo join my FB group go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepositiveperimenopauseclubEmail me at: info@pollywarren.comhttps://www.pollywarren.com/https://www.instagram.com/pollywarrencoaching/

“Our ultimate sense of well-being is often found at the place where fulfilment and contribution meet.” This Quote is take from Rachel Lankester’s book ‘Magnificent Midlife’ and sums up brilliantly the story of this week’s podcast guest Kali Hamerton-Stove.In her late forties, Kali and her friend Melissa Murdoch founded the inspiring social enterprise, The Glasshouse, which offers second chances through horticultural training to women based in UK prisons.Through growing and nurturing houseplants, which are then sold, the project helps and supports women in the months before and after release.🌱As well as the practical horticulture skills, hanging out with plants has some amazing benefits for people involved in the project - as it can for everyone! This episode is a story about finding a passion in midlife, believing in yourself and realising that you’re never too old to try new things and make a positive difference. https://www.theglasshouse.co.uk/Episode Sponsor - Magic Mind:  Go to  https://magicmind.com/meno AND with my code:  MENO20 get up to 56% off your subscription Support the Show.To find out more about Just Breathe and to join the Just Breathe community go to: https://www.pollywarren.com/justbreatheTo book a FREE 15 minute discovery call with me go to: https://calendly.com/pollywarrencoaching/15minTo join my FB group go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepositiveperimenopauseclubEmail me at: info@pollywarren.comhttps://www.pollywarren.com/https://www.instagram.com/pollywarrencoaching/
In this week's Thursday's Thoughts, Lucy and I are talking all about manifestation. The term manifestation often gets dismissed as being too ‘woowoo’; but I like to think of it as simply ‘making shit happen. When we decide what we want, believe that it’s possible for us, and start taking small, aligned actions, we will get there…IF we keep moving towards it and don’t quit at the first hurdle. In this conversation, Lucy and I talk about things that we’ve manifested into our own lives, as well as our thoughts around what we need to do in order to bring those things to fruition. We hope you’ll find something useful in here!Love,Polly & Lucy xSupport the Show.To find out more about Just Breathe and to join the Just Breathe community go to: https://www.pollywarren.com/justbreatheTo book a FREE 15 minute discovery call with me go to: https://calendly.com/pollywarrencoaching/15minTo join my FB group go to: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepositiveperimenopauseclubEmail me at: info@pollywarren.comhttps://www.pollywarren.com/https://www.instagram.com/pollywarrencoaching/
