In the ancient world sharing a meal was considered a core element of fellowship. This concept of Table Fellowship has significant impact on Paul's letter to the Corinthians with respect to the problem of attending idol feasts as well as Paul's theology of the Lord's Supper. This special study explores Table Fellowship as it relates to 1 Corinthians 10-11.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday

There were many striking parallels between ancient Israel and the Corinthians. These similarities were explained by Paul in order to convince the Corinthians that their flirtation with idolatry would have the same ruinous impact on them as it did on the Israelites. The Corinthians needed to learn from history.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
Paul contended that some of the Corinthians were failing to lovingly consider the scruples of their conscientious brethren in 1 Corinthians 8. In chapter 9 he continued this line of thought by offering himself as an example of someone who was always willing to adjust his own behavior for others so that he might win them for Christ.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
1 Corinthians 8-10 is all about idolatry. Specifically, Paul addresses the question of whether or not it is permissible for Christians to attend feasts held in an idol temple. His approach to this subject is multi-faceted, and it all starts in chapter 8 where the apostle contrasts knowledge and love.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
Paul continues to address what people should do about their social situations after they become followers of Jesus. What should slaves, circumcised/uncircumcised, or single/widowed Christians do? Paul's general counsel to all is: remain as you are!----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtodayYou can email us at thesearchwithclintandshahe@gmail.com
The Corinthians who heard Paul's preaching and became believers had come from all walks of life. Some were betrothed or married while others were single or widowed. Some were Jewish and others were Gentiles, and some were slaves while others were free. How should these new Christians view their unique circumstances now that they belong to Christ? This is what 1 Corinthians 7 is all about.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtodayYou can email us at thesearchwithclintandshahe@gmail.com
What is the proper use of the bodies of believers? Does God care about what Christians do with their bodies? And most importantly, what has God done for those who belong to Christ that indicates how He feels about their bodies? These are important questions Paul answers in the second half of 1 Corinthians 6.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
What happens when Christians allow trivial matters to become giant problems? Who is responsible for mediating and resolving such disputes between believers? Paul will discuss these questions with regards to the Corinthians who were taking their petty squabbles to unjust judges rather than their congregation for resolution.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtodayYou can email us at thesearchwithclintandshahe@gmail.com
How do congregations deal with children of God who are living like children of the devil? In 1 Corinthians 5 Paul raised an issue he had learned about where a man was committing unrepentant sexual immorality at Corinth. Just as alarming as this man's behavior was the response from the Corinthians. Paul lays out how he expected the Corinthians to handle this crisis.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@JointhesearchTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtoday
It was wrong for the Corinthians to ally themselves with their favorite leader, but it was equally wrong that some of them entirely rejected Paul. Instead, Paul tries to establish a middle ground where leaders are respected for their work but not overly esteemed in a schismatic way.----------------------------Please follow us on these platforms:Podcast: https://thesearch.buzzsprout.com/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jointhesearchInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jointhesearchtodayFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/jointhesearchtodayYou can email us at thesearchwithclintandshahe@gmail.com

One of the most remarkable aspects of early Christian communities was how they demonstrated love and hospitality towards one another.
