Every week the squabbling siblings dissect a topic from the baddest educational document on the planet - the UK’s National Curriculum.

Microbiology, magnetism, manganese…can long-suffering Ron explain atomic structures or will Laura be forever banging her head against the periodic table?

Whether you love thermodynamics - or ridiculous family dynamics - Lexx Education takes you back to your school days to find out whether it’s possible to relearn your GCSEs…or be forever doomed to looking things up on Wikipedia.

Hello and welcome to another episode of Lexx Education! It's the comedy science podcast where comedian Laura Lexx tries to learn science from her non-comedian science loving younger brother Ron!Ron didn't make any episode notes for this, our 99th episode and when I messaged him to ask him what it was about so I could write this he said "Biology, selective breeding - we don't get much done at all. Basically just talk about cabbage and broccoli." I think for the nine millionth time he talks about Barbara Brocolli.Anyway, become a patron, leave us a five star review and buy Laura's books and tour tickets. Thanks xThese show notes were generated by Headliner AI. If you enjoy them please tell other podcasters by giving a shoutout to https://headliner.app in your episode ✨---💬 Show NotesStrap in for a wild ride through the unpredictable world of science with the Lexx siblings in the latest episode of Lexx Education! Laura and Ron are back at it again, with Ron fresh from a holiday and Laura gearing up for her own getaway. The duo dive into the intricacies of selective breeding, but not before getting sidetracked by discussions about rural living, the allure of Switzerland, and their plans for the monumental 100th episode.Amidst the banter, they touch upon the potential pitfalls of selective breeding, like the risk of reducing genetic diversity and inadvertently passing on undesirable traits. But it's not all serious science talk; expect a hefty dose of classic Lexx humor, including a debate on whether the Romans had tea and the comedic potential of tea towels.Don't miss this episode's blend of education, humor, and sibling rivalry. And remember, if you're enjoying the podcast, consider becoming a patron, leaving a stellar review, and supporting Laura's creative endeavors. This week on the podcast... Ron talks us through how to make hummus, Laura and Ron discuss food for a long time - must have been a lunch record. But they don’t eat anything in the episode so that’s good.We almost get on to the science but then Laura befuddles us again with a discussion of mind casting. We cover a summary of energy sources: wind power, solar power, and then things get a bit derailed when Laura devises a theory that tidal and wave power are both lunar power due to the moon being something to do with the sea.

Hello and welcome to another episode of Lexx Education! If you're looking for a bingeworthy podcast full of laughs and regular episodes then look no further than Lexx Education! It's packed with British humour from brother sister duo Ron and Laura who are marching slowly methodically painfully and hilariously through the GCSE science syllabus with limited results. This week after a bit of a nostalgic start discussing the Frosties kid and how terrible the advert song was, the dynamic duo are back in chemistry. This week they are looking at all sorts of things like air pollution and to make it a bit more copeable for Laura and her chronic climate anxiety, Ron is leaning on the amazing book "Not The End of the World" by Hannah Ritchie. We cover all sorts this week but basically 98% of it is not science.
Oh look no one has the energy for this bit today. It's the podcast. It's actually a bit more sciencey than usual. Are you new to the podcast? Don't start here. Go back to 1 and trek through and meet us back here when you're ready. We'll wait. If you know the podcast and are ready for episode 96 then jump on in here and get with it. It's the podcast. The science is variation in evolution.
Hello and welcome to another episode of Lexx Education! It's the comedy science podcast where comedian Laura Lexx tries to learn science from her non-comedian brother Ron!This week, we have come to the end of the physics syllabus and so Ron and Laura are revising the beginnings of physics. We look back over the first few months of how we started with the physics... looking at energy and... resultant forces. Yikes.
Happy Easter everyone! Welcome to the 2024 Easter Special from Lexx Education - the comedy science podcast where comedian Laura Lexx tries her very best to learn science from her normal nerdy cool younger brother Ron.This week, we are staring down the barrel of Easter... obviously we're all pretty excited ahem, eggcited about Eggathon 2 happening on Friday HOWEVER right now we're looking at things that have brought humanity back from the dead. That's right - we're looking at cures, vaccines and all the ways that science has stopped us dying in ways that used to be very common. For some reason the entire episode is based in Leeds. Enjoy!

Hello and welcome to your new favourite podcast! It's Lexx Education - the comedy science podcast where siblings from Somerset Laura and Ron work their way painstakingly through the AQA GCSE science syllabus. This week though, comedian Laura Lexx and her brother Ron have reached the point in the chemistry syllabus where they have to talk about Laura's deepest darkest fears: the environment and atmospheric changes. To make it nicer, easier and something Laura can cope with Ron is using the book Not The End of the World by Hannah Ritchie to sprinkle in some data driven facts about climate change. We hope you love the pod!

Hello and welcome to Lexx Education and gosh isn't there a lot of pressure here now I know people actually read this! Welcome to the only comedy science show featuring a brother teaching a sister the combined AQA science syllabus. It's a huge week for us this week as it's the last ever physics GCSE proper lesson... we mark it in style by beginning the episode discussing how strong we are. No spoilers but it's very strong. Then we go into electromagnets - there's a small argument over whether or not we've already done it and then we cover it but really it's a tidbit. We discuss who is the big nerd - it's Ron. Fuck you Ron.Then the physics syllabus whimpers out with Flemings’s left hand rule... a bit that neither of us understand, engage with or care about. SO LONG PHYSICS YOU DWEEB!Sign up to Laura's mailing list here for new tour dates: https://lauralexx.us21.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=8264ed176b0bbff6848c8bf26&id=b86f890d0cAnd why not help us keep the podcast running by supporting us on patreon.com/lexxeducation where £3 a month keeps our spirits up and bank balances in the black.

Hello and welcome to Lexx Education! The comedy science podcast, released weekly on a Monday, where comedian Laura Lexx learns science from her younger brother Ron.Does anyone actually read these? This week we're covering some ground we’ve already covered. But honestly, if you actually read this let us know. The timeline is fucked - we discuss things that had happened that now haven't happened and things that should happen that got deleted. Why would you read this? Is this just for SEO purposes? If so, listen to the best, most reliable UK podcast with UK comedians on a podcast.Sciene wise we discuss DNA, terminology and eugenics. Ugh if this is for SEO and the inclusion of the word eugenics has just captured you, please go away. we're not pro.Non science wise we discuss a karaoke machine and Roald Dahl. Enjoy!

Are you a new listener that we picked up last week due to the accessibility of the Valentines Day episode? Well, we’re about to fuck you into a bin. This week we are back on syllabus and it's time for magnets! It's a redo, because, aren't they all lately? Laura's magic fingers have been losing episodes left right and centre and now here we are redoing magnet content. Laura has done some research and brings it to the table to put against the syllabus. There's also our usual amount of off topic: Shaggy and Matthew Lillard content, Lucille by Kenny Rogers, Matthew Sewell and Dax Shepherd all feature.
Hello! Welcome to Lexx Education... the comedy science podcast where comedian Laura Lexx is USUALLY learning the AQA GCSE science syllabus from her non-comedian younger brother Ron. If you're new to the podcast have a listen to this episode for a taster and then scurry back to episode one and binge your way through to the present - it's a podcast best served in order! This week is our 2024 Valentines special... in this episode Ron looks at the science of love. What is love? What chemicals make us feel in love? Why do we fall in love? How did we evolve love? What is the difference between love and lust? Meanwhile Laura inexplicably counts down her top ten most fuckable animals. Enjoy!
So here we go, we're entering another redo. Laura's fingers and wandering brain have struck again and the episode that was Identifying Common Gases only exists somewhere in the deleted file realm. Perhaps one day a science will exist that can find it but it is not this idea. SO, in lieu of that, the buff siblings from Somerset have re-recorded (corded?) and here present the exact same science again but this time with a lot more bickering and an absolute storm of extra banter that in no way relates to the science whatsoever.Don't forget to send your tea towel pictures in to lexxeducation@gmail.com and support us on patreon at patreon.com/lexxeducation. Also, buy your Leicester tickets you cowards.
It's Awards Season babaayyyyy... and does this episode win the award for shortest time from starting to the first person being told to go fuck themselves? It might do!Laura has been an arse lately and this episode really reflects Laura and Ron's bitterest feelings about each other. It's DNA and inheritance and stuff and is the last episode for a while that is not a redo so enjoy!
Hey up everyone it's Lexx Education! This week Laura has a very shiny moisturised face and the effects of the advent calendar are discussed in detail but Ron fails to finish the round up.Shout out to Will Duggan and his water flosser. We're looking at 6.6.2.3 for the numbers fans and it’s got the energy of two people killing time waiting for a bus, rather than two people in charge of running a science podcast that could be full of content. This week is heavily featuring dog of the podcast Maki having a little bark and Child of the Podcast saying hiya. There’s a miniscule amount of science but imagine their usual apathy multiplied by the fact that they’ve already covered this. It’s basically about 4 minutes of the episode and most of it’s in the quiz. We’re looking at properties of electromagnetic waves.Email your Lexx Education tea towel images to lexxeducation@gmail.com and don't forget to get your Leicester Festival tickets here: https://comedy-festival.co.uk/events/lexx-education-live/
Hello and welcome to Lexx Education! It's the comedy science podcast where a sciencely challenged comedian, Laura Lexx, is trying to relearn the GCSE science triply syllabus from her brother and teacher Ron (one person). This week starts with a lot of chatter as Laura and Ron catch up post break for a holiday. Laura tells Ron all about seals and whether or not she would have sex with them and why she is angry with Cornwall. Then, as we get into the lesson, it with a lengthy chat about nothing as Ron feels the topic is very. It’s chemistry, they’re looking at chromatography. Laura plays with a guillotine while Ron blandly tries to explain the syllabus structure.  Worst audio quality ever because Laura fights a guillotine for a long time. It's really one for the fans.In the outro, Laura and Ron pitch the idea of moving Christmas back a bit so that a little more of winter has been accomplished before the true misery of a Christmasless winter kicks in.Don't forget to buy tickets to our Leicester Festival show on 18th February... https://comedy-festival.co.uk/events/lexx-education-live/
Wayo! It's Lexx Education you eggloving mofos! It's biology this week so naturally we launch straight into the syllabus with absolutely no pre-amble or messing about... just kidding. No, of course we don't. Biology We begin with a long discussion about how Agony Dad sharpens his pencils. Then there is a meaty discussion of animated films and who should watch them. When we finally reach the science it's hormones, puberty, reproduction and the Lexx Education favourite subject: Eggs. Just a brother and a sister sitting around discussing reproduction and then their Dad unloading a dishwasher. Just what the podcasting world needed.

Lexx Education is a marvelous mix of science and comedy. The presenters, real life siblings Laura Lexx and Ron, are both a delight and bounce off one another wonderfully. The analogies that Laura creates to try and learn science are just fab and it's all a lot of fun. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
