This week's episode features educator, lifestyle coach, and sober consultant Jessica Dueñas. Jessica shares her story with us: what it was like growing up as a first- generation Cuban/Costa Rican overachiever, her early relationship with disordered eating and how this later shaped her relationship with alcohol, how she excelled professionally and even won the 2019 Kentucky State Teacher of the Year award while her drinking was out of control, finding love in rehab and the aftermath of loss, and finally obtaining long-term sobriety when her desire to get sober was met with the will to take action. Nadine has just gotten back from Berlin so this week's episode is a throwback to a fan favorite episode from season 1 of the podcast: "Strippers are Sober, Too" featuring Regan Riley. Reagan Reilly is a Las Vegas exotic dancer with over 10 years of sobriety. Reagan is refreshingly honest about her past addictions that almost killed her, life as a Las Vegas stripper, and how she maintains sobriety in the adult entertainment industry. You’ll laugh, cry, and hopefully walk away with a greater understanding of what it’s like to have a physical and mental dependence. Reagan also sheds light on misconceptions the public has about stripping and why people should stop judging the industry harshly. As always, thanks for listening! In this episode, we explore the power of hypnotherapy in addiction recovery. Our guest, Georgia Foster, is  a world renowned hypnotherapist, top selling author, and creator of Life Changing Programs  with years of experience in addiction treatment. Georgia shares insights and anecdotes about how hypnosis can be a highly effective tool for overcoming addiction. One of the key topics we explore is the role of the inner critic in addiction. The inner critic is the voice inside our heads that tells us we're not good enough, smart enough, or strong enough to achieve our goals. For many people struggling with addiction, this inner critic can be a major obstacle to recovery. It can lead to feelings of shame, guilt, and self-doubt, which can in turn drive addictive behaviors.Georgia explains how hypnotherapy can help people reprogram their inner critic, replacing negative self-talk with positive affirmations and beliefs. By working with the subconscious mind, hypnosis can help people access deeper levels of self-awareness and self-acceptance, which can be crucial for long-term recovery. We also discuss the importance of finding the right hypnotherapist, someone who is not only highly skilled in hypnosis techniques but also has a deep understanding of addiction and recovery. Overall, this episode offers valuable insights into the power of hypnotherapy in addiction recovery, as well as practical advice for anyone considering this approach as part of their recovery journey. Whether you're struggling with addiction yourself or supporting a loved one in their recovery, you'll find plenty of inspiration and guidance in this engaging conversation.Support the showPlease note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services. What does supermodel/actress Cara Delevingne have in common with TSB podcast host Nadine Mulvina? Aside from striking beauty and limitless talent, both ladies had a lifechanging wakeup call around their 30th birthday. In this episode, Nadine Mulvina recalls her last drunk birthday and the shame she felt after a tribute video she planned to make commemorating her twenties went very wrong. Addiction and shame  keep people sick as many people don’t want to admit, especially publicly, of their struggle with substances. This is why it’s so important to de-stigmatize and de-shame addiction and recovery and Cara does that by using the term ‘healing’ instead of ‘recovery’. In this episode, we will be discussing some essential tips and information you should know before traveling to Paris. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, this guide will help you make the most of your trip to the City of Light.Key Points:French Language: French is the official language of France, and while many Parisians speak English, it's still a good idea to learn some basic phrases before your trip, for example, always greet people with "Bonjour" (Good morning) or "Bonsoir" (Good evening). Learning some French is particularly helpful because a lot of menus at restaurants are in French so I'd hate you for to make a sober social faux par by ordering a cocktail instead of a mocktail.Drinking Culture: There is a lot of drinking but *caveat* not so much seeing people drunk.People Watching as Sport: Not so much a sober thing but a good to know before you go thing. The french love to people watch; Cultural Etiquette: It's important to be aware of French cultural etiquette   and proper dining etiquette. Most likely, you will be presented with a wine list at dinner. Some restaurants have non-alcoholic options but not really an extensive list. Popular Attractions: Paris is home to many famous landmarks and museums, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. It's important to plan ahead and book tickets in advance to avoid long lines and crowds.Use  promo code  tsb23 to recieve 12% off Drink Moment Places mentioned:Moulin RougeThe Louvre MuseumMusee D’OrsayThe Rodin MuseumMusée Marmottan Monet The Picasso MuseumChateau VersaillesLe Paon Qui BoiDrinks & CoResourcesForbes Article on Non-Alcoholic Options/Places in ParisSocials:Instagram @the.soberbutterflyTik-tok @the.soberbutterflyYouTube: The Sober ButterflyCollabs/ConnectEmail: nadine@thesoberbutterfly.com With these tips in mind, you'll be well-prepared for your trip to Paris.
