In this episode, I talk to Director Jim Yukich who directed more than 50 Genesis and Phil Collins music videos. He also directed many Genesis and Phil Collins TV Specials and Live shows, among work in other genres for different artists. This interview is 3 hours and 39 minutes, so you may need to pause and return to it...but it's so good you may not be able to! I was going to break it into two segments...but am going to see how the longer, single segment goes over. Jim and I talk all things Genesis and Phil videos, stories and behind the scenes...Jim also shares some of his background, including the story of meeting David Bowie and making his first Grammy-Award winning video for him, Modern Love, in 1983. You are going to love this interview, and Jim. He is so interesting and easy to listen to. I hope you enjoy it--I am very proud of this one, as I am of all the interviews I have done to help #getphilvotedin. I hope you enjoy! XO, Traci #getphilvotedin
Harry Kim, Trumpet Player Extraordinairre, is one of the most well-known and well-loved horn players in the world. As the leader of the Vine Street Horns, Harry has played with some of the world's most famous musicians. A native of New York City, Harry's Korean background, along with family who came from Cuba gave him a unique perspective and allowed him to explore different musical genres as he began his career as a classical horn player. Eventually he played many genres including funk, Salsa/Caribbean/Mariachi/Persian, Latin-jazz, Disco, Big Band, Pop, Pock and R&B, to name just some. Not only is Harry an incredibly gifted musician, he is a larger-than-life personality on stage, popular with fans and loves to share his knowledge. Harry is a motivational speaker and teacher as well as still being a busy working musician. Harry worked with Phil Collins for the first time on his "But Seriously..." Album in 1989 and continued to work with Phil through his most recent solo tour, "Not Dead Yet." In this interview, Harry shares his unique insight into touring with Phil, Phil's many musical gifts, Phil his friend, his reasons why Phil should be in the RRHOF as a solo artist,  and so much more. We spoke so long, the interview had to be broken into two bits--but make no mistake, you will want to listen to it all. Harry's heartfelt delivery and incredible sense of humor will leave you wanting more. And that's good- because there are already plans for a second interview that will feature Harry and Brad Cole! Stay tuned for that...but for now please enjoy Harry Kim!

#getphilvotedin, The Podcast is back with Episode 6 featuring the most incredible guest to date, Producer Paul Flattery. Paul is the man behind almost every Phil Collins and Genesis music video, documentary, live concert film and TV Special ever made. Starting with Easy Lover in 1982 through Phil's videos for the Brother Bear movie in 2003, Paul gives listeners the inside scoop and behind the scenes stories about the making of these videos and more! For nearly 12 years with over 70 projects for Phil Collins and Genesis, Producer Paul Flattery, along with his business partner, Director Jim Yukich, made the videos, music movies, documentaries  and TV specials that live in the hearts of Phil Collins and Genesis fans to this day. Award-winning, innovative and groundbreaking, the work Flattery and Yukich did is now the stuff of legend. Paul Flattery has produced nearly every major music superstar you can think of from The Rolling Stones, to David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Crosby Still Nash and so many more. In this episode, I get to talk with the spectacular singer/actor/performer, Connie Jackson. Connie is best known in the Phil Collins world for her work singing backing vocals on the 2004 - 05 First Final Farewell Tour, and on the 2010 Going Back Tour. She also sang on the Going Back record, something she talks about in the interview. Connie is also an accomplished actress on TV, the stage and in films. She has been a regular recurring guest star on the TV show NCIS for the last 10 years, appeared in many hit shows like Weeds, This is US and 9-1-1, to name a few. She  was in the Broadway revival of Dreamgirls on the stage, and is currently beginning a new film project with a multi-Academy Award-winning Director. In this episode we learn a bit about Connie and lots about her time working with the incredible, Phil Collins. She shares her perspective on all things Phil, and why she believes that he belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a Solo Artist.Enjoy!A side note; My dear friend and co-host, Kathy Steffen, has had to take time away from the podcasts for personal reasons related to family health.  She promises to return when possible, and hopes you are all enjoying the interviews.
In this episode, I visit with Brad "Munchie" Marsh, Phil Collins'  long time drum tech. Brad shares his experiences and opinions as only he can do having been Phil's 'right-hand' man...literally. Brad is a right-hander and Phil's a lefty, so we talk about that, and so much more. Learn where the kick-drum kitty came from and where it is today,  Brad's belief that The Farm Studio's house is haunted, Brad's favorite Phil solo song (hint Daryl Stuermer helped write it), the recipe for Phil's swamp water tea, how Brad helped move Phil's model train collection, and much, much more. Enjoy! By the way at about the 1:40 mark the podcast seems to end. Well Brad and I picked up a day later for a short few things we'd forgotten to cover, so when it seems like it's ending, keep listening! :-) You will hear all  about Phil's tea and more! I also wanted to note that because I use Zoom to record, and the interview subject and I can see each other, a few times during the interview Brad and I will talk about something in the room or he will hold something up to the camera. I will screen shot those things and share them on the Phil Collins Should Be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (as a solo artist) Facebook page and on https://getphilvotedin.com website.  This link https://getphilvotedin.com/podcast-%26-youtube will take you directly to the page for the screenshots, scroll all the way down. And one last note. I mistakenly refer to Phil's first time singing for Genesis in concert as having occurred in 1975, the correct year is 1976. (March 26, 1976, London, Ontario). #getphilvotedin
