Each day many set out to  quit smoking and start vaping in hope of choosing a heathier and cheaper alternative, we thought we’d ask the question: Is vaping better than smoking? And could it help you quit, or even help improve your health? E-cigarettes are the new kid on the block, yet the face of so much criticism and back lash. They’re getting lots of attention from many scientists across the world curious to see if this is the trick that’s needed to separate 1 billion people from cigarettes! Yes, 1 billion people smoke! When we first saw an e-cigarette, it felt like we had been transported in time.  To find out we invited Rob Berry Director of Leaf House/Vape Shop to deep dive into the world of Vaping. The discussion covers the benefits of e-cigarettes over conventional cigarettes, and what the future holds for an innovation that could aid a health crisis straining our health systems around the country. Website - https://leafhouse.com.au/ Insta - https://www.instagram.com/leafhousevapeshop/
Today we go deep into the trenches with ex Australian army Major James Greenshields, we navigate through the topic of falling in line and giving your blood, sweat and in his case almost his life towards a career that deep down was causing him to loose every part of his being. We chat about the aftermath of the moment in which his armored vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb and convoy coming under enemy fire in Iraq back in 2007, and the devastation of post-traumatic stress that followed to him and impact to those around him. Watene is a devoted dad, a man that stepped into father hood at the age of 17. Widely recognized as a leader in the space of mental health and self awareness, we go deep on the topic of parenting and how his children have been his biggest teacher. He openly shares how he is constantly having to navigate the old stories we play of parenting we most know. We share the importance of choosing to have fun during your children's activities rather than viewing is as a chore. The 'why' as parent's it's crucial we lower our eyes and let go of the need for the generational "my way or the highway' rules of engagement approach. Touching on the benefit of being a parent with a growth mindset and level of self awareness, while actively modeling this for your children is so important for development and social conditioning.
In this episode of 'The Raw Tradie' we chat with Ashleigh Renard on the importance of communication not only on day to day topics, but much deeper. We discuss that the deeper you embark into a relationship with greater responsibility and expectation, that their is no reason why intimacy and monogamy has to be lost. We learn that maintaining adventure and play can actually make a relationship fonder and more fun, in fact can wash away those stress's we all experience. Imagine a site shed of tradies openly sharing there experiences and adventures over the resentment and frustration so often voiced. That's vulnerability at its best!!This is one chat you don't want to miss!!For any man or women listening, here is the link to Ashleigh's coaching program. Has waking up of a morning become a chore? Is the best part of your day getting to smoko or highlight of your week being that fast approaching Friday? A message we consistently hear is "do what you love, love what you do"... What does that really mean? Today we talk with Eugene Wong, he has dedicated his life towards understanding that age old topic of passion and finding your why. We dive into talking about why it’s critical to instill self-confidence not only in ourselves but more importantly in our children as they grow, allowing yourself to feel, control, and express your emotions as a father and husband, rather than suppressing or repressing them, the need for leadership and intentionality when raising our kids, healing your inner childhood trauma and wounds and how to grow into ways that are aligned with the person you were meant to be. And how surprisingly choosing passion & purpose over the higher pay check can actually result in the later as a by product. Website - https://www.astrongernarrative.com/FB - https://www.facebook.com/AStrongerNarrativeFB - https://www.facebook.com/eugoogly
Todays discussion with Sam takes us to uncharted territory for most men. As tradies we often stereotype relationships, particularly our own purely from the pack banter and culture we've instilled amongst our peers on site.  We talk about how to ask for feedback and actually get useful answers from our partner, we dive into the topic of interdependence vs. codependence, how to communicate your feelings and needs inside a relationship and setting healthy boundaries to allow creative discussions, how men sabotage vulnerability and trust in relationship, the importance of developing a regular check-in with your partner, the trap of perfectionism and people-pleasing, why date nights are vital to building a strong relationship, why filling up your own cup as a husband, partner or dad is selfless not selfish. We lightly paint a picture of how most relationships are often mirrors to those relationships we have been surrounded by growing up.
Today we have a discussion on two area's I personally have led from the front for many years, I often find myself procrastinating on things that have no productivity or real relevance to my day. Our chat with one of the countries finest mindset coaches also takes us deep on self sabotage, a topic that has played out in many parts to my life, an area that causes so much pain and grief amongst us all if un aware or diagnosed. Paul drives home the importance of taking responsibility while promoting choosing change can often be the hardest decision yet the most rewarding. Their is so much more to life than living being the Victim.
We go deep talking about the Addictions, behaviors, and decisions that led to Kris's fall from grace. How he went from the dark of night to the light of day by taking full responsibility, looking in the mirror, and communicating effectively, breaking the cycle and forgiving his parents, while honoring his incredible partner whom stood by his side through out.Kris shares  how he got through it stronger than ever, how he took action to rebuild trust and relationship with his partner, surrendering to change and fatherhood as a man who stands proud in why sharing your story and speaking your truth are so transformative and healing for self and others.
