Description

A local interview series that draws a picture of Sonoma County California in a set of sharply drawn, three-dimensional portraits of some of the remarkable individuals that call this green land home. At depth, each interview is warm, fun, flashing with insight and inspiration as interviewer Cincinnatus Hibbard explores the emotional taproots of what each guest does in and for Sonoma County, bringing forth the lessons and the value of each life lived here. Together this set of interviews begins to describe a web of inter-relations across our cross sectional divide and an emergent sense of who we are as Sonomans - our essence, our values, and where we are headed as a community. We hope you will join us!

I had the sharp pleasure of sharing some slow time with Luz Navarrette in the bizzy run-up to the 23rd Annual Dia de los Muertos celebration on Santa Rosa's Courthouse Square. The two day observance, held every November 1st and 2nd, invites the entire community to participate in this centerpiece and altar of the Mexican culture of death and grieving. Strictly non-commercial and deeply reverent, this celebration which Luz first organized in the aftermath of 9/11, has been a place of cathartic r...
Miguel Elliott is a local visionary attempting to revive one our most ancient building practices cob construction ( similar to Adobe or Daub and Waddle ) to alleviate our environmental and housing crises in one beautiful and economical solution.Although we are stuck on one conventional material process of building ( that is expensive, unsustainable, and highly toxic when burned ), cob construction is a compelling alternative, capable of producing the entire city-set of practical structures ( ...

I could listen to Joe, rapt, for hours on end, as he speaks with one of the most beautiful and prized American accents - the Italian South Philly sound. Joe is an all around host and entertainer, and together we tell three great strands of his story through the development of his three performance forms - drummer and conga player, swing dancer, and background talent ( film extra ) in some of the biggest films filmed in the North Bay! One of the more fascinating through lines in hi...

An interview with music scene MVP, Doug "DJ" Jayne, who five days a week hosts Mid-Day Music on KRCB, Sonoma County's NPR station.
